  • This study analyzes in detail the specific complaints of the dissatisfied public library users in Taegu Metropolitan city, with regard to materials, facilities, information services and staffs of the libraries. It also analyses the relatedness of complaining behaviors, complaints and demographic factors including gender, age, occupation, income, and education.

  • This study Is to investigate extensively the complaint responses of the academic library users, with a special regard to those in Daegu Metropolitan City and in Kyungpook Province. It selects and analyzes empirically some of the antecedents of the complaining behaviors including perceived severity of dissatisfaction, perception of free un, attitude toward complaining, cost of the complaining, likelihood of success, product/service importance, external attributions and loyalty : and complaint responses including exit, voice(redress seeking), negative word-of-mouth and third party complaints, of the academic library users, based on the theoretical backgrounds. Final data through questionaries are obtained from 582 unsatisfied academic library users in 5 universities in those areas, 542 of them analysed with SPSS 11.0 for Windows.

Effects of Mother's Parenting Attitudes on Children's Clothing Orientation and Clothing Purchase Behaviors (어머니의 양육태도가 학령기 아동의 의복성향과 의복구매행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the effects of mother's parenting attitudes on children's clothing orientation and clothing purchase behaviors. The questionnaires for this study were distributed to 166 fifth and sixth graders of elementary schools and 166 their mothers in Seoul. The data were analyzed through chi-square test, factor analysis, cluster analysis, MANOVA, ANOVA, and LSD test. Responses were classified as 4 groups (Acceptance-Autonomy, Acceptance-Control, Rejection-Autonomy, and Rejection- Control groups) based on mother's parenting attitude. The four groups showed significant differences both in clothing orientation and clothing purchase behaviors. Especially, the Rejection-Control group, which is easily influenced by peer students, placed much emphasis on fashionability of clothing and showed strong complaining behaviors toward unsatisfactory clothing selected by their mothers. Study results suggest the importance of mother's parenting attitude on analysis of target market for children's wear.

Gap Analysis of Users' Perceptions and Staffs' Expectations Regarding the Library Service Qualify, Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty : A Case Study of the National Library of Korea (이용자와 직원이 인식하는 도서관의 서비스품질과 만족도, 충성도 - 국립중앙도서관의 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • This study analyzed the gap between users' perception and staff expectations on users' perceptions about dimensions of library service quality(library staff, service supports. materials and resources, and facilities and equipments), service value, user satisfaction, royalty. using newly developed model. Six hundred-fourteen users and one hundred staff members or the National Libra of Korea were participated in the survey using questionnaires. Users evaluated service quality lower but evaluated service value, satisfaction. and loyalty higher In terms of showing complaining behaviors, users were less than staffs expected. Model analysis for users and staff3 showed that service value and general satisfaction influenced on complaining behavior and loyalty. For users. only the dimension of library staff influenced significantly on the service value, satisfaction, complaining behavior, and loyalty. None of the other dimensions of the service qualify showed significant relationship to them in the case of staff expectation.

Antecedents and the Moderating Effect of Value Consciousness on Customer Complaints in the Social Commerce Industry

  • In comparison to the rapid rise in the number of restaurant daily deal service consumer complaints, relatively little attention has been directed at the features of deal consumers' complaint behaviors in academic research. In order to address this gap, this study examined the characteristics of complaint behaviors of consumers who purchase restaurant deals with a focus on three potential determinants (likelihood of success with the complaint, attitude toward complaining, and severity of the failure). Results indicated that the three proposed determinants emerged as critical factors that influence deal consumers to exhibit different complaint reactions to dissatisfactory experiences. Furthermore, it was discovered that the hypothesized relationships were moderated by value consciousness, in which high value-conscious deal consumers exhibited a higher complaint inclination than low-value conscious deal consumers.

Effect of Customers' Psychological Power on Service Expectation and Response to Service Failure in a Restaurant Context

  • Purpose: The old axion to put the customers first (e.g., customers are king, customers are always right) has been taken for granted in the service sector. In addition, many companies in South Korea are providing customer-first education for employees at their contact points to strengthen their competitiveness. However, excessive increase in the psychological power of the customer can lead to a problem of abuse of power, called 'Gap-jil.' Despite these concerns, most companies hardly discard policies to give high priority to customers because of the assumption that it enhances customer satisfaction leading to organizational performance. However, in recent years, some franchise catering companies have posted warnings about the abuse of power by customers, and a movement to pursue a power-balancing between service providers and their customers is spreading. Research design, data, and methodology: This research is conducted to reconsider the principle of the customer-first perspective and to create a basis for arguments that can solve the problem of abuse of power, which is recognized as a serious social problem. In this research, we test and analyze the effect of customers' psychological power in the context of a restaurant on expectation for service and response to service failure. Result: The result of an experimental study shows that the effect of psychological power on customer satisfaction can be somewhat negative. Also, customers with high psychological power are more likely to have high service expectations. Especially high psychological power of customers causes a difference in the expectation level of human factors such as employee attitude, while the difference in expectations of non-human factors such as restaurant atmosphere was not statistically significant. In addition, when customers with high psychological power encounter service failure situation, they are more likely to feel disappointment and regret with a service provider. Meanwhile, the effect of psychological power on complaining behaviors are not significant. Conclusions: The findings of this research provide meaningful implications that the service providers should reconsider their existing corporate culture and management policies that put customers first. In addition, the result of this research is provided meaningful opportunities to review the management philosophy for the company's customers and the education philosophy for the employee education.

A Study of Junior - Market Consumer Personality Types and their Effect on Clothing Behaviors (주니어 마켓 소비자의 의복행동에 대한 성격 유형적 접근)

  • This study classified consumer personality types of the junior market and examined their clothing behaviors. The subjects were composed of 283 male and 276 female high-school-age consumers. Data were collected through questionnaires. Personality types were classified by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Data were analysed with the frequency, $X^2$, factor analysis, Cronbach's $\alpha$, ANOVA and Duncan tests using Windows SPSS 12. There was a significant difference (P<0.001) between fashion involvement and the 8 classified personality types. In fashion involvement, the extroverted feeling type was significantly higher than the other types. In brand image orientation, the extroverted thinking type was significantly higher than the other types (P<0.05). In fashion ad-orientation, the extroverted feeing type was also significantly higher than the other types. In active or passive complaining behaviors, there was no difference. In the selection criterion for clothes of color and design and style, the extroverted feeling type was also significantly higher than the other groups (P<0.05).

  • This study examines the effects of organizational trust of the container terminal operators' employee on organizational citizenship behavior and the moderating effect of organizational support in the relationship between the two variables. In order to efficiently achieve the purpose of this study, an empirical analysis was conducted by distributing a literature review and a questionnaire, and the results of the study are as follows... First, the organizational trust of the container terminal operators' employee was found to have a significant positive (+) effect on organizational citizenship behavior, and trust in the company appeared to be more important than trust in the superior, indicating trust in the institutional aspect. This means that formation has more influence on organizational citizenship behavior... Second, it was confirmed that the organizational support of the container terminal operators' employee can lead to active participation in organizational citizenship behavior through the expansion of educational compensatory support. Third, among the organizational support of container terminal operators, emotional support and educational compensatory support were found to have a partial moderating effect on the relationship between organizational trust and organizational citizenship behavior." Emotional support has a moderating effect on caring and active participation behaviors in the relationship between trust in the company and organizational citizenship behaviors, and a moderating effect on caring, active participation, and non-complaining behaviors in the relationship between trust in superiors and organizational citizenship behaviors. It was analyzed that there is Compensatory educational support has a moderating effect on altruistic, caring, active participation, and non-complaining behavior in the relationship between trust in the company and organizational citizenship behavior. It was analyzed that there was a moderating effect on active participation and non-complaining behavior. These analysis results mean that members' trust in the company further increases through the container terminal operator's emotional support and educational reward support. As uncertainty grows, it is very important to increase the trust of organizational members in the organization. sense of belonging to the organization, Emotional support that can increase immersion, improvement of work environment, provision of educational opportunities, and education-compensatory support such as a fair compensation system will increase organizational trust and induce effective organizational citizenship behavior to realize sustainable growth of the organization.

Clothing Purchase Behavior of Adolescents by the Consumer Awareness (청소년의 소비자 의식과 의복구매행동)

  • To investigate the consumer awareness and clothing purchase behavior of adolescents, questionnaire was administered to 639 middle and high school students in Daegu. The results were as follows. 1. The consumer awareness of adolescents was analyzed to 4 factors. consciousness of right. consumer information, brand-orientedness and responsibility. Respondents were clustered into three groups : utility-oriented group, brand-oriented group, and consumerism-oriented group. 2. Respondents bought their clothes at specialty stores primarily. They used ´products´, ´family's or friends advices´, and ´purchase experiences´ as information sources. The important criteria for selecting clothes were ´design´, ´price´, and ´suitability´ for oneself. Dissatisfactions after purchasing clothes were with ´price´, ´service´, ´sewing´, and ´size´. The complaining behaviors which respondents did mainly were ´telling friends about dissatisfaction with their purchased clothes´, ´asking for change dissatisfying products or asking for refund´ and ´asking for mending´. 3. Information sources were categorized into 3 factors: ´neutral information source´, ´personal information source´ and ´commercial information source´. Criteria for selecting clothes were factor-analyzed into ´harmony´, ´fashion´ and ´management of clothes´. ´The factors of dissatisfactions with purchased clothes were ´appearance´, ´quality´ and ´service´. 4. The differences by the consumer awareness in clothing purchase behaviors among consumer groups : In information sources. criteria for selecting clothes, complaining behaviors. purchasing places. three consumer groups were different significantly.

Study on Consumer's Complaints Behavior and Information Search Behavior According to Return Factors of the Internet Fashion Mall (인터넷 패션쇼핑몰의 반품요인에 따른 소비자 불평행동과 정보탐색행동에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to find return factors when modern consumers purchase goods from an internet shopping mall and then to analyze the characteristics of complaints act and information search behavior. Subjects of research are 245 men and women, who have experience with more than one return in internet fashion shopping mall, in their twenties. The data were analyzed by using Factor analysis, Cronbach's analysis, one-way ANOVA, Duncan test as a post identification, Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are that male and female consumers in their 20s are mainly aware of the return factors: impulse buying, product status, deliver service, service after purchase, hype and comfortableness. And complains behavior often conduct public action, private action, nonaction. Information search behaviors for risk reduction when they purchase are product comparison, oral information search, neutral marketing information search, and service information search. The return factor from the internet fashion shopping had the greatest impact on public action and deliver services factor was a big complaint. In addition, impulse buying & Hype affect private action and non-action is influenced by impulse purchase. The consumer types by the return factors in internet fashion shopping mall are classified into the return group by deliver service, the return group by complex factors, and the return group by product status. Furthermore, there are significant differences in complaining behavior among these groups. In the information search behavior for reduction of risk factors, the return group by complex factors did more active information search behavior than the other groups. The return group by deliver service searched oral information and the return group by product status explored the neutral marketing information.
