On analysis of the RCA index, it showed that the export competitiveness of Korean automobile in the world market was high following Japan and Germany, but it ranked the lowest competitiveness among the six trade competitors in Chinese automobile market. In other side, it is also made sure that the formidable competitors of Korean automobile export in global market are Germany and Japan. Therefore, South Korea needs to raise its ability to adjust to improvement of the international competitiveness in exports through close cooperation between government and automobile export enterprise and consistent monitoring about Chinese automobile industry and market.

  • Keen attention has been directed at "smart tourism cities" due to its role of solving urban problems arising from modern tourism development. However, some local governments are making huge investments in developing uniform tourism apps without specific directions or guidelines for the transformation of smart tourism cities. Accordingly, this study aims to develop a standardized and objective smart tourism competitiveness index and evaluate the competitiveness rankings of various cities around the world. The index comprises the five subindices of attractiveness, accessibility, digitalization readiness, sustainability, and co-partnership. The analysis results have shown that Singapore is the most competitive smart tourism city, followed by Amsterdam, New York City, Seoul and Barcelona, with Ho Chi Minh and Bangkok being relegated to the bottom of competitiveness rankings. We expect that this index can be employed as a global standard for continuously and systematically monitoring smart tourism city-related projects in the future.

  • Climate change and related policies and regulations influence the performance of the firms in various ways. Climate change influences corporate competitiveness through physical impacts, GHG regulations, changes in asset values, demand shift, etc. Therefore, corporate competitiveness could be maintained by reducing vulnerability to climate change and adapting to new circumstances. Without effective responses to the challenges, the firms would have difficulties in maintaining their competitiveness in the market and the cost of national economy will significantly increase as well. Even though it seems fairly easy to understand the meaning of competitiveness, deriving the driving forces of and measuring changes in competitiveness are complicated and disputable processes. A common way to overcome it is to develop a 'competitiveness index'. The objective of this study is to derive the main factors influencing corporate competitiveness related to climate change and develop 'competitiveness index' reflecting those factors. The index will make contribution to enhance the response capacity of the firms to climate change and increase the effectiveness of climate change policies for the industry by providing a quantitative tool to measure the changes in corporate competitiveness related to climate change.

Specifically, the e-business for the company or organization is defined as "using the Internet and IT, rescheduling of business process management activities to increase productivity and efficiency and to create new business opportunities." Thanks to the Korea's recent efforts, overall level of informatization and digitalization is able to receive high praise. But the e-business readiness (e-readiness) level is still expected a lot of room for improvement. In this paper, I try to analyze the informatization level of Korea's by the EIU's e-business readiness index and IT industry competitiveness index, to prepare a full-scale e-business era of global competitiveness through any preparation that could do to improve the situation from the analysis of statistical data.

To fully exert the force of cultural power, appropriate level of "resources for power" need to be disseminated into cultural elements. Utilization of these resources need to appropriately developed and produced in quality and quantity when needed. This activity should be ensured with "composite support competence"; which is the combination of support organizations and their potentials. Indicators of cultural power includes society favorability rating, cultural favorability rating, E&D industry competitiveness index, and T&T competitiveness index. According to analysis of cultural power by each country, cultural industry (E&D) competitiveness index and travel and tourism (T&T) competitiveness index shows relatively high correlation. This research aims to analyze the "cultural power as soft power" of South Korea, China and US, and how they are different and how their resources of power are represented in their E&D and T&T competitiveness.
