  • Induction motors are a critical component of many industrial machines and are frequently integrated in commercial equipment. The many economical losses and the deterioration of system reliability might be caused by the failure of induction motors in industrial field. Based on the reliability and cost competitiveness of driving system motors, the faults detection and diagnosis of system is considered very important factors. In order to perform the faults detection and diagnosis of motors, the vibration monitoring method and motor current signature analysis MCSA method are emphasized. In this paper, MCSA method is used for induction motor fault diagnosis. This method analyzes the motor´s supply current, since this diagnoses the motor´s condition. The diagnostic system is constructed by using LabVIEW of National Instruments.

  • The Purpose of this study is to improve the deterrent factors in Korea's coastal passenger shipping on the basis of field data collected in order to help stimulate it and enhance its competitiveness. As the representative model of this study, the "P" car-ferry liner was chosen, whereby various deterrent factors were observed in the course of the SWOT analysis and through the questionnaires. The major deterrent factors in summary were inflexible government regulations for additional ship operation, disadvantages of taxes policy, port facility shortages, non-allowing of ship's night operation, complicated and inflexible ship's operation controls by the concerned authorities, unreasonable divisions of steaming areas, and existences of obstacles on the ship's running routes, etc. which considered all are important to activate the liners.

  • Smart tourism technologies are becoming ever more pervasive and an increasing number of destinations and hospitality establishments are investing in smart tourism initiatives. However, while governments and businesses around the world are aggressively pushing the smart tourism agenda forward, smart tourism research initiatives are still in their infancy and seem to not fully cover the whole spectrum of smart tourism-related issues and questions. This paper conducts a systematic review of existing smart tourism literature to determine the status quo of smart tourism research and to identify research gaps. Considering the steep growth of smart tourism initiatives starting at the beginning of this decade, this paper reviews publications on smart tourism over the last 8 years. All publications for which the keyword "smart tourism" appears in the title, keywords or abstract were included in the sample.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the relationship between employment stability, wage level, welfare system, working condition, job satisfaction and organizational commitment in order to find out ways to develop and competitiveness of the nano-convergence industries. Through this study, we conducted the possibility of deriving organizational commitment by job satisfaction which is given through employment stability, wage level, welfare system, and working condition for continuing their work life. In order to find relationships between each concepts, we used a multiple regression analysis with job satisfaction and commitment as dependent variable and employment stability, wage level, welfare system, and working condition as independent variables. Through this study, it was expected to increase the organizational commitment through the job satisfaction of the employees if a changing method of employees management is centered on some tasks suggested for the sound working condition and efficient utilization policies.

  • Information technology is an effective means for raising firm competitiveness. In fact, what to purchase or how to purchase it must fall under a highly complex decision-making in which many different stakeholders are involved. These stakeholders are often known to take a defensive behavior. That is, instead of working toward a common goal of organizational performance, each individual of these stakeholders tends to act defensively to avoid risks he/she faces or minimize subsequent changes. Despite a frequent occurrence of defensive behavior in the process of IT purchasing, there has been no research about defensiveness in IT purchasing. Our study aims to elicit different types of defensive behavior in IT purchasing situations and to identify causes of these defensive behaviors. To this end, we surveyed IT professionals having much experience in IT purchasing and took a qualitative analysis on their opinions. We found out that there exist 9 different types of defensive behavior in IT purchasing and identified a set of factors causing the defensiveness and a set of their consequences.

  • E-business enables SMEs to reduce transaction costs and maintain export competitiveness in rapidly changing overseas markets. It is required to raise the entrepreneurial awareness of e-business of exporting SMEs. This study examines the characteristics of enterprises that play an important role in the introduction and utilization of e-business by domestic export SMEs. It explores the mechanisms that search and exploit these opportunities in an entrepreneurial way, and examines the process leading to export performance. We conducted a survey for empirical analysis and analyzed the data from 316 companies using e-business in Korea. As a result, both the international entrepreneurial orientation and the IT competence tended to be significant for the perception of e-business entrepreneurs and showed a different pattern in terms of size of influence. In addition, cooperation and operation among e-business entrepreneurs' perceptions have a direct impact on the export performance of SMEs.

  • This research focuses on the influences of FDI on the economic growth of four countries by Mekong river: Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. At the same time, the study also analyzes the contributing of economic growth to attract FDI inflow to these countries. The panel data during the period 1998-2017 were collected from World Bank. Empirical analysis figures out that GDP, mobile phone, labor force are the determinants affecting positive to FDI and vice versa exchange rate, wage are the negative factors. Secondly, FDI, export, exchange rate, government expenditure impact positively on economic growth but inflation and population have negative effect on the economic development. Thirdly, The FDI and economic growth have impact mutually in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand economy. FDI plays a very crucial role in contributing greatly to the economic development of the Mekong sub-region. The economic growth is higher, the FDI inflow is more attractive. From the results, some practical suggestions are offered to enhance the competitiveness in attracting FDI.

  • To accommodate various mobile communication frequency bands, the study of metamaterial antennas have begun since the mid-2000s to solve the Trilemma problem between antenna gain-occupied bandwidth-size. As an adaptive reconfiguration function is required in a multi-array antenna system since 4G, the metamaterial array antenna using low-power variable elements has been used to change the basic structure of the antenna. Recently, reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS), which is made of metasurface with reconfigurability, has been studied to effectively cope with the randomly varying radio channels and be used for various purposes such as reflection/transmission/modulation. As a result of RIS-related patent information analysis in this study, it was confirmed that most of the patents are metamaterial antennas and metamaterial array antennas, but the metasurface antenna technology was in the early stages. Particularly, as the intelligent metasurface antenna is in a more initial stage, the investment to R&D of RIS is urgent to secure patent competitiveness in B5G and 6G.

  • This study suggest strategies to expand pork exports to Hong Kong through understanding characteristics of its pork market based on results from analysis on surveys on consumers and marketers. The survey results indicate that Hong Kong's consumers consider freshness and sanitation/safety of pork as the most important factors in their purchase. The consumers are found to be very satisfied with Korean pork and have intension to purchase it in the future. The importers suggest that Korean pork should improve its price competitiveness and build up its brand images. Based on results of surveys, this study suggests four strategies, which are systematic disease controls, establishment of its brand image, effective quality and sanitation/safety management and government supports. And, as results from deriving economic effects of 2021 Korean pork export to Hongkong, the production inducement effect is 42.5 billion won and the employment inducement effect is 266 persons.
