Purpose: Taking Tesla Motors as a case study object, this research aims to summarize the management strategy of Tesla Motors through an evaluation of its business models in Korea and China then helps other new energy automobile enterprises in formulating strategic directions in a targeted manner. Research design, data and methodology: Using the case study method, this study conducts in-depth research on the business model of Tesla, a representative enterprise of the new energy automobile industry. This study mainly uses secondary data obtained from the official websites to support our research. Results: With its top-level innovative technology, distinctive marketing model, and extensive strategic model, Tesla holds the largest share of the new energy vehicle market. Local market brands such as BYD and Hyundai-Kia still have a considerable competitive advantage, and there is a need to learn from each other for further development. Conclusions: To adapt to the needs of economic transformation and environmental development, implementing business strategies related to new energy automobile enterprises is a topic worthy of study. Enterprises such as BYD and Hyundai-Kia have unique advantages in their home markets. However, as sustainable development progresses, these advantages will gradually weaken, and further measures are necessary to maintain their competitive advantage.

In the past, pumping-storage generator pumped the water from the lower part storage to the upper part storage during the base load periods. And, it generated during the peak load or when other generator was outage. However, pumping-storage generator will operate different ways in the competitive power markets. It will pump during lower price periods and generate at higher price periods. This paper presents economic analysis of pumping-storage generator using price (or SMP) duration curve.

Transmission Loss Factor (TLF) is one of the key factors affecting transmission pricing which should capture the intrinsic characteristics of competitive electricity markets and be amenable to the agreement of the market participants. This paper proposes a practical methodology which enhances the utility and applicability of TLF which is vulnerable to the choice of slack bus, computation methodologies, and incremental generation (or incremental load). The proposed methodology is demonstrated with a case study.

This study is on the decomposition analysis of the IT export of Korea, Japan, and China (toward US IT market) by using log mean Divisia method. The analysis shows that the increase in the Korea-US IT exports is the result of not only the increase in the US's IT imports but also the increase in the US's IT market shares. The increases in the Japan-US IT export have shown to be the result of the increase of US's IT import but the market shares have been decreased. The increase in the China-US IT export is the result of the changes in the market shares, changes in IT import structure. and the IT import increase. In order to increase exports toward US markets, Korea have to continue increasing the market share of communication equipments, secure competitive power toward US IT markets with the decline of Japanese's market shares, and secure technical superiority over rising competitive power of Chinas IT industry.

In competitive electricity markets, the System Operator (SO) coordinates the overall maintenance schedules whenever the collective maintenance schedule reported to SO by Gencos & Transco in the pool does not satisfy the specified operating criteria, such as system reliability or supply adequacy. We propose a two-layer mathematical algorithm amenable to maintenance scheduling problem into master problem and sub-problem. The master problem coordinates the scheduling, and sub-problem, DC optimal power flew, checks the adequacy. The proposed algorithm was demonstrated with a case study.

Transmission congestion is one of the key factors to local market power in competitive electricity markets. Financial transmission rights provide the financial protection to their holders by paying back the congestion cost. However, the market participants who have market power can exacerbate their market power. Due to the exacerbated market power, this paper analyzes the mitigation of local market power using Contingent transmission rights on the market price. Contingent transmission rights provide not only the financial protection but also regulative penalty. The proposed methodology was demonstrated with the Optimal Power Flow(OPF).

Transmission congestion is one of the key factors to local market power in competitive electricity markets. Financial transmission rights provide the financial protection to their holders by paying back the congestion rent. A variety researches have shown that the existing trading mechanisms on transmission right can exacerbate market power. This paper proposes an alternative methodology in mitigating the local market power using the Contingent Transmission Rights on the locational marginal pricing scheme. The proposed methodology was demonstrated with the Optimal Power Flow.

This paper is aiming to study of the speed-up of the railway freight services. Recently investment in freight continues to support the growth both traditional and intermodal markets, and will begin to influence newer markets. Railways offer the highest speeds in ground-based transport systems and therefore offer competitive transport times on routes between large cities. In freight transport, top speeds of 100$\∼%$150km/h are competitive with the road transport. The speed of freight railway can be increased in particular by the creation of a network of freight corridors, the speed-up of freight train, and efficient transhipment installations.

The purpose of this paper is an attempt to analyze the dynamic relationship between KSE and KOSDAQ, two competing markets in Korean stock market, in the viewpoint of competition. Lotka-Volterra model, one of well-known competitive diffusion model, is adopted to represent the competitive situations of Korean stock market and it is estimated using daily empirical index data of KSE and KOSDAQ during 1997~2001. The results show that there existed a predator-prey relationship between two markets in which KSE acted as a predator right after the emergence of KOSDAQ. This interaction was altered to a symbiotic relationship and finally to the pure competition relationship. We also perform an equilibrium analysis of the estimated Lotka-Volterra equations and, as a result, it is found that there is a market index equilibrium point that would be stable in the latest relationship.

In competitive electricity markets, maintenance schedule is submitted by generation companies (GENCOs) and transmission companies (TRANSCOs), and coordinated by Independent System Operator (ISO) with the adequacy criterion. This paper presents an alternative coordination procedure by ISO on the maintenance schedule. In this paper, it is focused on modeling a coordination algorithm by ISO for the maintenance schedule based on the Simulated Annealing algorithm. The proposed model employs the minimum information such as generator capacity, forced outage rate and generator maintenance schedules. The objective function of this model represents minimization of adjustment on schedules submitted by GENCOs.
