위탁승선실습생의 법적지위 -목포해양전문대학생을 중심으로- (A Study on the Legal Status of Apprentice Officers on the Merchant ship)

  • Students of the Mogpo Merchant Marine College must complete one year's shipboard training course according to IMO(International Maritime Organization) regulations as an obtaining matter of Certificate of Competency. The purpose of this shipboard training course lies int he student's acquiring practical knowledge and sill as a part of a course of study and, in the future, fostering essential adaptability and leadership, especially in bad circumstances on the sea. The shipboard training course has two kind that the students can be trained either on the training ship or on a merchant ship of the shipping company. In this paper, I only thought over the legal status of apprentice officers on the merchant ship and analyzed the problems practicably during shipboard training. This paper is made up of five chapters. The first chapter contains the purpose contents and method of this study, in the second, the meaning of shipboard practice education and training, in the third, the legal status of apprentice officers on merchant ship, in the fourth, the analysis of the provisions of the seamen act applied to apprentice officers on a merchant ship. And in the last chapter 5, the contents mentioned is summarized and directions are presented to amend the provisions of the seamen act applied to apprentice officers. The conclusions are as follows. 1.In case of shipboard training on overseas employment ship, the seamen act applied to the manning agent employing the apprentice officers should be reinforced. 2. The provisions of disembarkation in mid course by discipline of the seamen acts Article 24 should be relaxed. And the provisions in relations to seamen's duty to be a reason of discipline applied to apprentice officer among the provisions for ship's public order maintenance should be abolished. 3. The provision of repartriation completely should be applied to apprentice officers and the provisions of a journey expenditure during their embarkation or disembarkation have to be established. 4. The apprentice officers in shipboard training also need securing a basic wages provision to be criterion of an accident compensation. 5. The apprentice officers in shipboard training should not be in charge of third officer's or third engineer' study.

간호대학생의 문화적 역량 영향요인 (Factors Influencing to the Cultural Competence in Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생의 문화적 역량 정도를 확인하고 문화적 역량의 예측요인을 파악하고자 시되되었다. 연구대상자는 K시와 B시에 소재하는 3개 대학교 간호학과 학생 181명이었다. 자료수집을 위한 설문조사는 2013년 6월 5일부터 8월 31일까지 실시되었고, 자료분석은 SPSS/WIN 17.0 프로그램을 이용하여 descriptive statistics, t-test, One way -ANOVA와 multiple regression 분석하였다. 연구결과 문화적 역량은 자기효능감, 공감능력과 유의한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 간호대학생의 문화적 역량에 영향을 미치는 요인은 자기효능감(${\beta}=.63$, p<.001), 공감능력(${\beta}=.18$, p=.001)과 다문화교육(${\beta}=.13$, p=.019)이 문화적 역량을 51% 설명하였다. 본 연구에 의하면 문화적 역량 영향요인을 고려한 효율적인 교육프로그램 개발이 요구된다.

수술실 간호사의 환자안전역량과 팀워크 인식이 환자안전관리활동에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Operating Room Nurse's Patient Safety Competency and Perception of Teamwork on Safety Management Activities)

  • 본 연구는 수술실 간호사의 환자안전역량과 팀워크의 인식이 환자안전관리활동에서 미치는 영향을 규명하고자 시도되었다. 연구대상자는 종합병원 수술실에서 6개월 이상 임상경력을 가진 간호사 110명이다. 자가보고 설문지를 이용하여 자료를 수집하였으며, 분석방법은 SPSS 21.0을 이용하여 기술통계, 평균비교분석, 상관분석, 단계적 회귀분석을 이용하였다. 연령이 높은 군과 교육수준이 높은 군이 유의하게 환자안전역량점수가 높았다. 환자안전역량과 환자안전관리활동은 유의한 양의 상관(r=.37)을 보였고, 팀워크와 환자안전관리활동도 유의한 양의 상관(r=.21)을 나타냈다. 회귀분석결과 환자안전관리 활동에 유의한 영향을 미치는 변수는 환자안전역량과 팀워크 인식이었고, 이들 변수의 설명력은 15.7%로 나타났다. 따라서 수술실 간호사의 환자안전관리활동을 향상을 위해 환자안전역량과 팀워크 향상을 위한 노력이 필요하며, 추가적으로 환자안전관리활동에 영향을 미치는 다른 변수에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

Implementation Plans for the Korean Certified Tumor Registrar Qualification System

  • Background: Cancer registration data is used to understand the nation's cancer burden, and to provide significant baseline data for cancer control efforts, as well as, research on cancer incidence, mortality, survival, and prevalence. A system that approves, assesses, and manages the qualification of specialists, responsible for performing cancer registration, has not been developed in Korea. This study presents ways to implement a certification system designed for the qualification of tumor registrars in Korea. Materials and Methods: Requirements for implementing a certified tumor registrar qualification system were determined by reviewing the system for establishing qualifications in Korea and the American qualification system via the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA). Moreover, a survey was conducted on Korean medical records administrators, who had taken the U.S. Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) examination, in order to review their opinions regarding these requirements. Results: This study verified the feasibility of a qualification examination based on the opinions of CTR specialists by determining the following: items, and the associated ratings, of the qualifications necessary to register individuals as certified tumor registrars in a private qualification system; status of human resources required for the examination or training processes; plans regarding the organization needed for management, and operation of qualifications, examination standards, subject areas, examination methods, examination qualifications, or education and training programs. Conclusions: The implementation of a certified tumor registrar qualification system will lead to enhanced job competency for specialists and a qualitative improvement of cancer registration data. It will also reliably foster human resources that will lay the groundwork needed to establish scientific and reasonable national cancer management policies.

Motivational Interviewing Training Using Role Play in Dental Hygiene Students

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a motivational interviewing (MI) training program to improve competency in communication and to effect the evaluated changes that would occur in dental students' counseling techniques as result of the training in the program. The study proceeded through the program via role-play practice, which was explained effectively during the MI program training process. A convenience sample of 43 fourth-year dental hygiene students was recruited. Twenty-two students were randomly assigned to the intervention group and 21 to the control group in the order of recruitment. The theoretical lecture was delivered over 3 hours and the practice was done in parallel by applying cases occurring in clinic settings. The practice was technical training, partner practice, and small group practice. The intervention group received three hour MI lecture while the control group received no lecture. Evaluation through role-play practice was separated according to "researcher's viewpoint," "counselor's role viewpoint," and "patient's role viewpoint." The results of the analysis showed that the intervention group had higher MI skills and ability than the control group. Furthermore, program participants showed positive impressions to the MI training program. The use of coaching sessions improved the MI techniques and counseling skills of dental hygiene students learning MI. The effect of the application of the MI training program was that the MI training improved counseling skills and interviewing abilities. Moreover, continuous training and feedback enhanced MI techniques and core skills. Training using lectures in parallel with practice rather than education through theory alone improved students' techniques. Application of role play through the combined method of the MI program was confirmed by an effective training method.

기술친화형 게임그래픽디자이너 인력양성 특성화 방안 (Specialized manpower trainning system for Technology-friendly game graphic designer)

  • 한국 게임 산업의 성패는 역량 있는 콘테츠 제직을 위한 융복합 인재 배출 여부가 관건이 되고 있으며, 디지털 콘텐츠는 지역을 초월하여 흥행하는 속성이 있으므로, 전 세계적인 경쟁력을 확보하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 연구는 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖추는 기술친화형 게임그래픽디자이너 인력양성 특성화 방안을 도출하는 것을 목표로 한다. 다학제적인 교육 방법의 성패여부는 해당 전공 책임 교수들과의 협조와 해당 전공 책임교수의 적극적인 의지, 해당 학교의 교육적인 비전 공유와 적극적인 행정서비스가 실시간적으로 지원되는지 그 여부에 여해 결정될 것이다. 본 연구에서는 게임산업 특성화 분야 인력에 대한 수요 공급에 대한 분석을 토대로 기술 친화형 전문 게임 인력에게 요구되는 창의력, 실무 경험 및 국제적 역량을 함양시킬 수 있는 방안에 대해 분석하였다. 또한 관련 산업분양 전문 인력으로 육성할 수 있도록 지역 산업체 및 유관 기관과의 연계 방안과 교과과정의 구성 방안에 대해 제시하였는데, 이러한 방안은 특성화 배경의 필요성에 의해 제시된 요구사항들을 분석하고 해결방안을 모색하는 과정에서 도출된 방안으로써 나름의 의미가 있다고 사료된다.

영국 국가지리교육과정 개정과 지식 논쟁 (Revision of Geography National Curriculum in UK and Debates about Knowledge)

  • 최근 영국의 연립정부는 교육정책 및 국가교육과정에 일대 변화를 꾀하고 있다. 이는 소위 지식의 전환으로 일컬어진다. 이전의 신노동당 정부는 사회적 구성주의와 포스트모더니즘이라는 상대주의적 지식관에 토대하여 역량기반 교육과정을 채택했다. 이러한 지식관은 지식을 사회적으로 구성된 것으로 간주하며, 학생들의 일상적 또는 사회적 지식을 강조하였다. 그러나 연립정부는 절대주의적 지식관에 근거하여 지식기반 또는 교과기반 교육과정으로 전환을 시도한다. 이는 지식의 객관성을 강조한다. 사회적 실재론은 지식에 대한 이러한 양극단을 함께 비판한다. 사회적 실재론은 학문적 지식을 일상적 지식보다 우위에 두며, 이를 강력한 지식으로 간주한다. 그렇다고 사회적 실재론이 일상적 지식을 무시하는 것은 아니며, 학문적 지식과 일상적 지식의 연계를 강조한다. 이러한 지식관은 최근 영국지리교육학회의 주도로 진행된 '살아있는 지리'와 '젊은이 지리' 프로젝트에 영향을 미치고 있다. 이는 최근 대학에서 발전된 젊은이 지리를 학생들의 일상적 지리와 결합하는 것으로, 대학 교수들이 멘토가 되고, 지도교사와 학생들이 서로 대화 속에서 함께 만들어 가는 교육과정을 추구한다.

Cultural Competence and Influencing Factors of Dental Hygiene Students

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of cultural competence and its influencing factors among 530 dental hygiene students. The analysis was performed using PASW Statistics ver. 18.0, and the following conclusions were drawn. Cultural knowledge levels showed a significant difference according to general characteristics in four components of cultural competence levels. Cultural competence and its four components were higher in subjects who have a religion (p<0.05). The differences in cultural competence levels according to culture-related characteristics are as follows. In individuals with experience of taking foreign culture-related classes, intention to work overseas, or fluency in a foreign language, cultural competence levels and its four components such as cultural comfort, knowledge, awareness, and behavior intent were higher (p<0.05). Intention of overseas employment was the factor most strongly influencing the level of cultural competence of the subjects. The more intention the subjects have to work overseas, the more they have experienced foreign culture-related lessons, the more fluently they speak a foreign language, and the higher level of cultural competency they reached (p<0.05). As the research results show, it is necessary to establish a continuing plan to understand and communicate with individuals of other cultures through foreign language and foreign culture classes in schools in order to improve the level of cultural competence. This education would reduce the fear and stress that subjects might make a mistake in meeting with people from other cultures, and it could be a preparatory process to actively carry out dental hygiene practice with foreigners.

고등학교 보건교사 DACUM 직무분석 (Job Analysis of School Health Teachers Working at High School using DACUM Technique)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to analyze the job of school health teachers working at high schools in Seoul, using DACUM (Developing a curriculum), a method for analyzing job-focused competency. Methods: A DACUM workshop was held to define school health teachers' role and identify their duties and tasks. For the workshop, a committee was organized, consisting of 5 school health teachers. Finally, the developed contents, after validation, were made into a survey asking about school health teacher's duties and tasks and the survey was carried out on 37 school health teachers. Results: 14 duties and 90 tasks were identified on the DACUM chart. The importance, difficulty, and frequency of the tasks were represented with ${\alpha}$ bet A, B, and C, with A being the highest degree. The duty with the biggest determinant coefficient (DC) was 'management of emergency patients' (DC=7.95), while the lowest was 'management of health clinic supplies' (DC=4.33). In terms of tasks, the one with the biggest DC was 'conducting physical assessment for emergency patients' (DC=7.8), followed by 'conducting health classes' (DC=7.79). 'Supervising school lunch' (DC=2.02) and 'supervising self-study' (DC=2.42) were the tasks with the smallest and the second smallest DC. Conclusion: The results of the study show that school health teachers'job expanded to include preventive activities such as health education, health counseling, and health promotion activities. The results of this study can serve as basic data for developing training programs for school health teachers as well as an evaluation-scale to measure school health teachers' job performance.

중환자실 신규간호사의 임상의사결정 특성의 변화 (The Change of Characteristics in Clinical Decision Making in Novice Critical Care Nurses)

  • The main purpose of this research is to describe comprehensively the processes of clinical decision making in novice critical care nurses through clinical experience. This research was an exploratory, longitudinal study using a fieldwork approach incorporating "think-aloud" method and in-depth interviews with the study participants. The study participants consisted of 5 novice nurses assigned to critical care units at a tertiary medical center located in Seoul, among a group of 27 novice nurses who started at the same period at this hospital. The data were collected from March 1999 to April 2000. The major findings of the study is that the novice nurses followed the analytic linear model of clinical decision making in the beginning, but were changed increasingly to follow the comprehensive, integrated model of clinical decision making. Through repeated experience that resulted in increasing repertoire of clinical schema and familiarity of task environments of clinical practice the novice nurses expanded their ability to arrive at comprehensive integration of information and to arrive at accurate and time-efficient decisions. Both the analytic, linear model mostly used at the beginning period and the comprehensive, integrated model that seems to be the mode significantly dependent upon experience seem to have strengths and weaknesses as decision making processes in clinical situations. Hence, it is imperative to develop an effective orientation and training program for novice nurses through the use of clinical preceptors. In addition, students should be exposed to the process of clinical decision making early in their nursing education through an appropriate clinical experiences and clinical assignments.
