IMM 기반 특징 보상 기법과 불확실성 디코딩의 결합 (Incorporation of IMM-based Feature Compensation and Uncertainty Decoding)

  • 본 논문은 잡음이 많이 존재할 경우 특징 보상 기법들의 불완전한 추정 방법으로 인하여 발생할 수 있는 불확실성 정보를 음성 인식의 디코딩에 반영해 줌으로써 좀 더 인식 성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 방법에 대한 연구이다. 기존의 특징 보상 기법들은 현재 시간에서의 깨끗한 특징 파라미터를 추정하는 단일점 추정 기법들이 대부분이다. 하지만 낮은 SNR 환경에서의 잘못된 추정 파라미터들이 음성 인식 엔진의 입력으로 사용될 경우 성능이 저하되기 때문에 추정된 파라미터의 불확실성 정보를 이용하여 디코딩을 해주면 추정 오류를 보완해줄 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 대표적인 Aurora-2 DB를 활용하여 적용된 기법의 성능 향상을 확인한다.

  • In this study, we proposed an optical compensation method to improve the symmetricity of contrast ratio for wide viewing angle IPS (in-plane switching) LCD. First, the phase retardation depending on the thickness of compensation film is calculated, and then the phase change is presented at the $Poincar{\acute{e}}$ sphere. The phase retardation and the polarization state of the light passing through the optical elements are caculated by using the EJMM (extended Jones matrix method). In addition, the transmittance and the contrast countour are also calculated by using the Berremann's $4{\times}4$ matrix method. The simulation is carried out for a IPS LC cell with positive A/C/A compensation film. From the standard deviation of the contrast ratio, we confirmed the symmetricity at each viewing angle is inversely proportional to the standard deviation and calculated the optimum design condition of the uniaxial compensation film for the IPS LCD.

  • In this paper, a new Maximum Power Point Tractor (MPPT) using Fuzzy Controller is proposed to improve energy convention efficiency. Temperature compensation effect means the photovoltaic voltage is change in condition irradiation, temperature and etc. Fuzzy algorithm is applied to control Boost MPPT converter by Temperature compensation effect. Temperature compensation range is $-40\sim+100^{\circ}C$.

  • This paper proposes the coordinated control of SVC and UTLC at the distribution substation to get larger operating margin of SVC for the voltage stability control by reactive power compensation. In the conventional method, ULTC doesn't respond to the variation of source voltage, so SVC has the entire responsibility for it. It could cause the lack of operating margin of SVC in some condition. It, however, is important to secure an operating margin for the dynamic stability control in emergancy. This paper proposes the coordinated control method that SVC controls the supply voltage and ULTC respond to the SVC compensation valve based on the relation between SVC compensation and ULTC tap position. The numerical simulation verifies that the proposed system could increase the operating margin of SVC compared with the conventional system.

  • There are not only lots of controllers such as UMC(Unit Master Controller), BMC(Boiler Master Controller), Fuel Flow controller, Air flow controller, Feed water flow controller, S/H R/H Temperature controller and so on, but also compensation controller such as BTU compensator, Fuel/Water ratio controller and O2 Co controller to take automatic control in the super critical once through boiler. It is important to make complete automation of boiler to use the compensation controller like BTU compensator. For example, In case of some boiler condition, operator has to change combustion parameter for changing the coal, on the contrary BTU compensator can calculate set value of the fuel flow and reset the fuel flow demand by itself. This paper shows us the logic and instruction regarding compensation controller of boiler that can be operated automatically.

Optical Transmission Link with Balanced and Unbalanced Dispersion Distributions and Non-midway Optical Phase Conjugator

  • We propose a dispersion-managed link with a non-midway optical phase conjugator (OPC), in which the residual dispersion per span (RDPS) of each fiber span is different for each transmission section before and after OPC. We numerically demonstrate the compensation for 960-Gb/s wavelength-division multiplexed (WDM) signals distorted by chromatic dispersion and Kerr nonlinearity of the fiber. We consider different cases for non-midway OPC, including six fiber spans - OPC - 14 fiber spans and 14 fiber spans - OPC - 6 fiber spans. The numerical results show that the compensation of the distorted 960 Gb/s WDM is more efficient when the OPC is placed after 6-th fiber span as compared to after the 14-th fiber span. Our simulation results also indicate that the compensation effect increases when the difference in net residual dispersion between both transmission sections is not large, but they are not the same. Under this condition, the larger the magnitude of the RDPSs of each fiber span, the greater the compensation.

  • Based on the results in the first-part paper, PSS tuning methods including the determination of PSS gain and compensation of phasor lagging are investigated in this second part. In the phase compensation, PSS should compensate phase lagging, resulted from power system-generator-excitation system loop, to provide damping torque in equal phase with the generator speed. Also, PSS gain should be determined to provide maximum damping torque as much as possible without the other modes unstable. In this paper, gain tuning method using the root-locus and the phase compensation of PSS at the one machine with infinite bus system are presented. The differences between PSS tuning at the tuning condition and at the least-stable condition are also discussed.

Coordinated Control Strategies with and without Circulating Current in Unified Power Quality

  • Under traditional unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) control, a UPQC series converter (SC) is mainly used to handle grid-side power quality problems while its parallel converter (PC) is mainly used to handle load-side power quality problems. The SC and PC are relatively independent. The SC is usually in standby mode and it only runs when the grid voltage abruptly changes. In this paper, novel UPQC coordinated control strategies are proposed which use the SC to share the reactive power compensation function of the PC especially without grid-side power quality problems. However, in some cases, there will be a circulating current between the SC and the PC, which will probably influence the compensation fashion, the compensation capacity, or the normal work of the UPQC. Through an active power circulation analysis, strategies with and without a circulating current are presented which fuses the reactive power allocation strategy of the SC and the PC, the composite control strategy of the SC and the compensation strategy of the DC storage unit. Both of the strategies effectively solve the SC long term idle problem, limit the influence of the circulating current, optimize all of the UPQC units and reduce the production cost. An analysis, along with simulation andexperimental results, is presented to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed control strategies.

시선안정화 제어시스템의 실시간 불균형 모멘트 보상기법 (Real-time Unbalance Moment Compensation Method for Line of Sight(LOS) Stabilization Control System)

  • This paper describes real-time unbalance moment compensation method for line of sight(LOS) stabilization control systems. The factors of system inertia, frictions and unbalance moment affect the control accuracy of drive systems that are equipped to on the move(OTM) platforms requiring LOS stabilization function. In case of the unbalance moment among those factors is continuously changed as variation of relative angle between gravity vector and drive torque vector. Then, consideration of the effect in real-time is very complicate. Therefore, its effect should be designed to be minimized, however, designing it almost zero is impossible in real condition. In other words, it is hard to achieve target performance overcoming stability issue of highly unbalanced systems. To solve these problems, this paper proposes calculation method of unbalance moment by using measured sensor data for LOS stabilization control and its use for control compensation. Also, kinematical converting process and control structure for compensation are explained. The effectiveness of the proposed method as variation of unbalance moment is verified under simulation circumstance modeled by assuming LOS control system with 2-axis gimbal structure.
