For efficient spectral utilization of satellite channels, a shared band transmission technique is introduced in this paper. A satellite transmits multiple received signals from a gateway and terminal in the common frequency band by superimposing the signals. To improve the power efficiency as well as the spectral efficiency, a travelling wave tube amplifier in the satellite should operate near the saturation level. This causes a nonlinear distortion of the superimposed transmit signal. Without mitigating this nonlinear effect, the self-interference cannot be properly cancelled and the desired signal cannot be demodulated. Therefore, an adaptive compensation scheme for nonlinearity is herein proposed with the proper operation scenario. It is shown through simulations that the proposed shared band transmission approach with nonlinear compensation and self-interference cancellation can achieve an acceptable system performance in nonlinear satellite channels.
This paper proposes a compensation PWM technique for the extension of output voltage ranges in three-phase VSI applications using three shunt resistors. The proposed technique aims to solve the dead zone, which occurs in high modulation indexes. In the dead zone, two phase currents cannot be sampled correctly, so that the three-phase VSI cannot be operated up to the maximum output voltage. The dead zone is analyzed in detail, and the compensation PWM algorithm is developed. The proposed algorithm is verified by numerical analysis and experimental results.
In low earth orbit (LEO) satellite communication systems, more severe phase distortion due to Doppler shift is frequently detected in the received signal than in cases of geostationary earth orbit (GEO) satellite systems or terrestrial mobile systems. Therefore, an estimation of Doppler shift would be one of the most important factors to enhance performance of LEO satellite communication system. In this paper, a new adaptive Doppler compensation scheme using location information of a user terminal and satellite, as well as a weighting factor for the reduction of prediction error is proposed. The prediction performance of the proposed scheme is simulated in terms of the prediction accuracy and the cumulative density function of the prediction error, with considering the offset variation range of the initial input parameters in LEO satellite system. The simulation results showed that the proposed adaptive compensation algorithm has the better performance accuracy than Ali's method. From the simulation results, it is concluded the adaptive compensation algorithm is the most applicable method that can be applied to LEO satellite systems of a range of altitude between 1,000 km and 2,000 km for the general error tolerance level, M = 250 Hz.

This paper presents a novel K-band (18 GHz) 16-quadrature amplitude modulation (16-QAM) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM)-based $2{\times}2$ line-of-sight multi-input multi-output communication system. The system can deliver 356 Mbps on a 56 MHz channel. Alignment mismatches, such as amplitude and/or phase mismatches, between the transmitter and receiver antennas were examined through hardware experiments. Hardware experimental results revealed that amplitude mismatch is related to antenna size, antenna beam width, and link distance. The proposed system employs an alignment mismatch compensation method. The open-loop architecture of the proposed compensation method is simple and enables facile construction of communication systems. In a digital modem, 16-QAM OFDM with a 512-point fast Fourier transform and (255, 239) Reed-Solomon forward error correction codecs is used. Experimental results show that a bit error rate of $10^{-5}$ is achieved at a signal-to-noise ratio of approximately 18.0 dB.
The ideal chemical sensor must show the similar result under the same condition for accurate measurement of gases regardless of time. However, the actual responses of chemical sensors have been shown the lacks of repeatability and reproducibility because of the drift which has been caused by aging and pollution of the sensor and the environment change such as temperature and humidity. If the problems are not properly taken into considerations, the stability and reliability of the system using chemical sensors would be decreased. In this paper, we analyzed the sensor's drift and applied the three different compensation methods(DWT( Discrete Wavelets Transform), Baseline Manipulation, Internal Normalization) for reducing the effects of the drift in order to improve the stability and the reliability of short term of the chemical sensors. And in order to compare the results of the methods, the standard deviation was used as a criterion. The sensor drift was analyzed by a trend line graph. We applied the three methods to the successive data measured for three days and compared the results. As a result of comparison, the standard deviation of DWT showed lowest value. (Before compensation: 7.1219, DWT: 1.3644, Baseline Manipulation: 2.5209, Internal Normalization: 3.1425).

An energy management method of DC microgrids using voltage compensation term is proposed in this study. Droop control is often implemented to operate the DC microgrid. However, the droop control necessarily generates voltage variation. Energy flow is also difficult to control because the droop control mainly focuses on proportional load sharing. To solve these problems, the voltage compensation term based on the low-bandwidth communication is used to determine the operating band of the converter. Energy management and voltage variation minimization can be achieved by judging the operating band according to the magnitude of voltage compensation term. The validity of the proposed method is verified by simulation and experiments.
Recently, mobile video communication is getting more and more popular. Visual quality and computational complexity are primary factors affecting performance of video communication. Frame rate up-conversion (FRC) is necessary for achieving high visual quality in mobile projection displays. In this paper, a FRC method using motion compensation based on block matching algorithm (BMA) with adaptive block size is proposed. In order to improve the accuracy of the estimated motion vectors, the motion vector refinement technique is proposed. Experiment results indicate that the proposed technique exhibits better performance with lower hardware complexity compared to the conventional methods.
This paper proposes a novel combined compensation structure in the infrared receiver chip. For the infrared communication chip, the current-voltage (I-V) convert circuit is crucial and important. The circuit is composed by the transimpedance amplifier (TIA) and the combined compensation structures. The TIA converts the incited photons into photocurrent. In order to amplify the photocurrent and avoid the saturation, the TIA uses the combined compensation circuit. This novel compensation structure has the low frequency compensation and high frequency compensation circuit. The low frequency compensation circuit rejects the low frequency photocurrent in the ambient light preventing the saturation. The high frequency compensation circuit raises the high frequency input impedance preserving the sensitivity to the signal of interest. This circuit was implemented in a $0.6{\mu}m$ BiCMOS process. Simulation of the proposed circuit is carried out in the Cadence software, with the 3V power supply, it achieves a low frequency photocurrent rejection and the gain keeps 109dB ranging from 10nA to $300{\mu}A$. The test result fits the simulation and all the results exploit the validity of the circuit.

In this paper, we studied the design and implementation of fading compensation systems at aspects of narrowband mobile communication using TTIB SSB. The mobile radio channel with multipath fading places fundamental limitations on the performance of wireless communication systems. The multipath fading is compensated using pilot tone in TTIB SSB. The TTIB transceiver was implemented using the prevailing digital signal processing (DSP) techniques and compensation for the multipath fading was incorporated in the receiver in the form of DSP algorithm. In order to evaluate fading compensation performance in TTIB transceiver, we first used computer simulation. In the simulation results, we found that the TTIB transceiver could compensate for the multipath fading as expected. Second, we carried out some experiments on TTIB transceiver implementation with DSP boards and later with hardwares including RF circuits with center frequency of 145MHz. Through these experiments, we found that fading compensation performance in TTIB transceiver was almost as good as that obtained from simulation.
This study was conducted to develop the strategy for more effective internal marketing and promoting internal customer satisfaction by grasping the level of internal marketing operations targeting employees within hospital and empirically analyzing the effect of internal marketing operations on internal customer satisfaction. The findings reveal that there is a significant correlation between factors for internal marketing components and internal customer satisfaction. The average factor score for internal customer satisfaction is 3.230 out of 5, which is a little higher than normal levels. Counting down the five factors is as follows: internal communication, education and training, delegation of authority, welfare, compensation system, with compensation system shown as the lowest level and internal communication as the highest level. In addition, the result of multiple regression analysis conducted to inspect the effect of factors for internal marketing components on internal customer satisfaction indicates that among 5 factors, delegation of authority, education and training, and welfare have positive influences on internal customer satisfaction; whereas, compensation system has little effect on it.
