This study is object to structural analysis comparison of continuous casting mold. A two-dimensional finite element model was developed to compute the temperature distribution, thermal stress and thermal strain behavior for continuous casting mold. For structural analysis using thermal analysis result from ANSYS. In other to structural analysis of continuous casting mold, many variables such as casting speed, cooling condition, film coefficient, convection and load condition are considered.

Comparison criteria and a selection model for concurrency control algorithms has been presented in this article. In addition, a comparison analysis has been performed with the developed comparison model. The result of the analysis can be utilized to select the best fitting concurrency control algorithm to the user's existing system environment.

This research describes the comparison broker's role and its effectiveness measurement using a developed logical framework of comparison shopping service. And verifies that seller-led comparison challenge method provide comparison information of products to buyers more efficiently. In electronic commerce, buyer's satisfaction of purchase (S) can be defined as an interactive function between seller's competitiveness vector (P) of products that supplied to the market, and buyer's informed level vector (B) of products that is known from a lot of sources. Then the buyer's informed level can be changed through the information analysis among products by transformation process using comparison matrix (C). So the role of comparison shopping is to construct a comparison matrix and to serve it to the buyers, and to change the buyer's informed level. The changed informed level influences a buyer's satisfaction, that improved satisfaction of purchase is defined as the effectiveness of comparison shopping. As a perfect provision and usage of comparison matrix is impossible cause of cognitive limit, the most efficient method for improving the comparison effectiveness is the comparison challenge that detects the comparison elements of the largest buyer's information efficiency, and then to be compared between elementary products selectively. This research verifies the substantial superiority of comparison challenge through television market data experiments.

Social Networking Sites (SNS) provide people with unique online social interaction environments where users can disclose their thoughts, feelings, and opinions to their personal contacts. Although previous studies have suggested that such activities produce positive effects on SNS user well-being, this study considered potential negative effects by investigating the relationship between SNS use and depression. In particular, This stydy examined how specific activities are related to different types of social comparison (upward/downward/horizontal) and how these different types of social comparison influence depressed moods among college students. The analysis of a survey of 245 Instagram users found that (1) looking at other people's status updates and commenting on other people's photos influences upward social comparison, (2) frequency of Instagram use predicts upward/downward/horizontal social comparison, and (3) upward social comparison was postively associated with depression, while downward social comparison was negatively associated with depression. Furthermore, the path anlaysis show that social comparison mediates the effect of Instagram use on depression. It suggests that Instagram use does not directly increase depression but it can lead to depression when social comparison on Instagram triggers depression.

This study verifies the validity of the role-relaxed consumption scale developed by Kahle (1995b) for Korean consumers. This study also tests a model that includes consumer susceptibility to interpersonal influence along with attention to social comparison information as antecedents and their relationships. Data were gathered by surveying university students in Seoul, Korea, using convenience sampling, and 600 questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis. Correlation analysis, factor analysis, ANOVA and path analysis were conducted in order to analyze the data. It was proved that the role-relaxed consumption scale was effective for Korean consumers. A path analysis showed that consumer susceptibility to interpersonal influence and attention to social comparison information influence role-relaxed consumption.

When a comparison is made with respect to the unknown best treatment, Hsu (1984, 1985) proposed the so called multiple comparisons procedures with the best in the analysis of variance model. Applying Hsu's results to the analysis of covariance model, simultaneous confidence intervals for multiple comparisons with the best in a balanced one-way layout with a random covariate are developed and are applied to a real data example.

Abstract The formulation of the probabilistic finite element method was briefly reviewed. The method was implemented into a computer program for frame analysis which has the same analogy as finite element analysis. Another program for Monte Carlo simulation of finite element analysis was written. Two sample structures were assumed and analized. The characteristics of the second moment statistics obtained by the probabilistic finite element method was examined through numerical studies. The applicability and limitation of the method were also evaluated in comparison with the data generated by Monte Carlo simulation.

Comparison studies of the Quantitative Structure Activity Relationship (QSAR) methods with new imidazo-quinolinedione derivatives were conducted using Comparative Molecular Field Analysis (CoMFA), Comparative Molecular Similarity Indices Analysis (CoMSIA), and the Hologram Quantitative Structure Activity Relationship (HQSAR). When the CoMFA crossvalidation value, q2, was 0.625, the Pearson correlation coefficient, r2, was 0.973. In CoMSIA, q2 was 0.52 and r2 was 0.979. In the HQSAR, q2 was 0.501 and r2 was 0.924. The best result was obtained using the CoMSIA method according to a comparison of the calculated values with the real in vitro cytotoxic activities against human ovarian cancer cell lines.

To investigate the stability and integrity of offshore structures, it is necessary to estimates the significant ocean environmental loadings. They include hydrostatic pressure, wind, wave, current, tide, ice, earthquake, temperature, marine growth and scouring. Waves are of major importance among them because of the large forces acting on submerged parts of the structure caused by accompanying water motions. For the comparison of stress and deflection analysis tools, a vertical pile is applied under environmental loads. The analysis is concerned with SACS(Structural Analysis Computer System), ANSYS and C program. SACS and C program have nearly the same results but not ANSYS. This study shows the comparison of results obtained from 3 different approaches.
