This study was investigated on the basis of the role of housing cooperatives in sustainable regional business networks(SLEN) in regeneration of residential aged area where the urban poor live. For the analysis, input elements of human capital, social capital, financial capital and ecological capital were examine. For the process, the organization's structure, sustainable business and social networks, and for the result, the stability and community characteristics of the living and the payment possibility of housing construction cost were examined. Through this study, what kinds of issues can be from the housing coop's project in terms of sustainability, and what is the most important factor in order to overcome former mentioned issues were intended to find. For analysis literatures were reviewed and the in-depth interviews and survey were conducted with site visits. The result of this study finds that housing coop have community characteristics through active participation of residents during the regeneration process but the land, as financial and ecological capitals, and housing construction funds were poor. This was investigated that it makes groundless the sustainability of the project and the possibility of the payment. In order to overcome, land concession, inexpensive lental and active funning for housing construction to housing coop is required because housing coop is aiming to supply of social housing for low-income and vulnerable groups.
In this study, we analyzed the changes in fungal populations of red-pepper fields employing eco-friendly farming methods, such as microbial agents and crop rotation, by using polymerase chain reactions coupled with denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE). Primer specific for fungi were used to determine the contribution of domains to the microbial community. Analysis of planted and non-planted soil samples applying PCR-DGGE technology offered evaluation of long-term patterns in fungal species richness. To evaluate the stability of DGGE patterns from different soils, comparison of planted and non-planted soil samples were compared using PCR-DGGE. The number of DNA fragments obtained from all planted soil samples by DGGE separation was far greater (14 to 15 bands) than that of the non-planted soil samples (3 to 4 bands). In addition, 14 bands were observed from crop continuation soil treated with agrochemicals and 18 bands from crop rotation soil treated with microbial agents. The PCR-DGGE analysis suggests that the use of crop rotation and microbial agents benefits the fungal community more than crop continuation using agrochemicals. These results indicate that crop rotation with microbial agents was better able to support beneficial organisms, enable more effective biological control and maintain a healthier balance of nutrients, organic matter and microorganisms.
Biological assessments of benthic macroinvertebrates community structure were carried out in ten reservoir inflow and outflow areas of the Nakdong river system from April 2008 to August 2008. The collected benthic macroinvertebrates from the surveyed sites were 9,427.6 inds./$m^2$, 42 species belonging to 29 families and 16 orders. A dominant species was Chironomus sp. and a subdominant species was Ecdyonurus levis. In the all sites, Ephemeroptera had the most number of species (17.81%) and Diptera had the most number of individuals (64.00%). Dominance, species diversity, species richness, and species evenness indexes were 0.68, 2.42, 2.96 and 0.54, respectively. The numbers of benthic macroinvertebrates species in each surveyed site were from 21 (site 9 Jilnal wetland) to 51 (site 2 Yeongcheon reservoir). As a result of an analysis about relative resistance and resilience of stability factors, the most popular group was group I with high indices in both resistance and resilience. Site 7 (Beongae wetland) and site 8 (Jangcheok reservoir) had the highest similarity in the result of cluster analysis using the surveyed benthic macroinvertebrates.
The purpose of this study was to identify characteristics of vegetation structure, vegetation succession, and species diversity of artificially planted Chamaecyparis obtusa (CO) stands. The study was carried out by performing vegetation survey for eight CO stands located in Jeollanam-do Province, Korea. Analysis on vegetation classification and ordinations of the stands was conducted using the data from the vegetation survey, and as a result, the stands were classified into five types of communities. Community I showed a considerably lower index of species diversity when compared to other communities because the canopy of the dominant CO was so highly dense that the low-height vegetation was not able to develop or the low-height vegetation almost disappeared due to elimination of weed trees. Meanwhile, the Community II - IV had relatively higher indices of species diversity because various native tree species mixed with the low-height vegetation and competed with each other in the understory and shrub layers to some degree of stability or in their early stage of vegetation development. Community V, lastly, showed higher use intensity as a recreational forest, thus developing simpler vegetation structure on account of artificial intervention. There was positive correlation between photosynthetically active radiation entering the forest floor, number of observed species and index of species diversity. Such characteristics of vegetation structure in CO stands are closely associated with forest management and prescription for planting reforestation, thinning, and brush cutting in the past. There was a slight difference in vegetation structure and species diversity by communities, based on rotation time of the vegetational succession, process of disturbance frequency and disturbance, development, and maturity by planting CO stands. However, when compared to natural forests, the CO stands showed simpler vegetation structure. Because artificial forests are vulnerable in ecosystem service with lower species diversity, a drive for ecological management is needed for such forests to change into healthy ecosystems that can display functions of public benefit.
An increase in the number of immigrants to Korea since the late 1980s' has signified the proliferation of globalization and global capitalism. In Korea, most married immigrants are women, as the culture emphasizes patrilineage and the stability of the institution of marriage, particularly in rural areas. Immigrant women have experienced dual ordeals. The Aogra Internet community in Korea has been one of the most representative sites that has shown the power of communities in cyberspace since 2002, leading the discussion of social issues and deliberative democracy both online and offline. This paper analyzed Koreans' writings (such as long comments) on immigrant women in the Agora community. The analysis revealed the following results: first, immigrant women were referred to using terms related to prostitution, with excessive expression of disgust, which is called a "narrative of identity." Second, anti-multiculturalists called Korean men victims of married immigrant women and expressed hatred toward immigrant women, which is called a "narrative of sacrifice." Third, anti-multiculturalists justified their emotions as just resentment based on ideas of justice, equality, and patriotism, concealing the emotion of disgust, which is called the "narrative of justice, equality." Fourth, antimulticulturalists played roles to spread the emotion of disgust, by repeatedly referring to international marriage fraud and immigrant workers' crimes, which is called "narrative of crime." Fifth, some positive writings on immigrant women were based on empathy(a concept defined in this context by Martha Nussbaum), but they can be analyzed as narratives encouraging cultural integration through the perspective of orientalism. Therefore, comments on immigrant women in the Agora represent a "catch-22" dilemma. To deal with conflicts arising from disgust and violations of human rights, civic education focusing on humanism is needed in this multicultural era.
The aims of this study was to investigate the effect of the Tele-rehabilitation service on health promotion and quality of life for individuals with disability. The subjects were 3 men who agreed with participating in service and were assessed of health promotion level with physical/psychological scales and quality of life. The service consists of 20 sessions for 13 weeks. The results are as follows: First, all participants improved psychosocial health promotion (subjective health level) factor. Second, physical health promotion (upper limb function, strength, range of motion) maintained and improved, but there was little change. Third, the quality of life was higher than before. In addition, qualitative research showed that participants experienced a positive change in subjective health status, emotional stability, benefit, and self efficacy, and they were satisfied with the service. Based on the results, it was shown that participation helps improve the health and quality of life of the individuals with disability in the community. This study can be used it as a basic data for establishing a Tele-rehabilitation service for individuals with disability in local community.
There have been many studies on monitoring of biodiversity changes and preservation of Gwangneung Forest Biosphere Reserve (GFBR) in South Korea in recognition of the rare ecosystem that has been preserved for a long period. However, there are few studies on diversity and community characteristics of benthic macroinvertebrates as an indicator of stream health of GFBR. The purpose of this study was to assess the water quality of Bongseonsa Stream that penetrated through Gwangneung Forest and the nearby torrents by analyzing the benthic macroinvertebrates community during April to September 2016. The investigation collected a total of 114 species of benthic macroinvertebrates belonging to 56 families, 17 orders, 8 classes, and 5 phyla from the Bongseonsa Stream and Kwangneung Stream. Ephemeroptera and Trichoptera were the largest groups in species diversity with 30 species (32.3%) and 16 species (17.2%), respectively, and Tubificidae sp., Baetis fuscatus, Antocha KUa, and Cheumatopsyche brevilineata, which usually habit in contaminated streams, appeared frequently. Among the feeding function groups, the gatherers and hunters appeared relatively frequently, and the shredders and scrapers appeared frequently in the torrents. Among the habitat oriented groups, the clingers and burrower appeared more frequently and represented the microhabitats in the shallow areas. The result of the analysis of benthic macroinvertebrates community showed that the dominant index was $0.48{\pm}0.10$ in average while it was lowest with 0.33 in GS 8 of the Gwangneung Forest torrent and highest in BS 1 of Bongseonsa Stream. The diversity and richness indices were inversely proportional to the dominant index and were 2.53 and 4.22, respectively, in GS 8 where the dominant index was low. The result of the analysis of community stability showed that area I, which had high resistance and restoration, was high in Bongseonsa Stream while the area III, which had low resistance and restoration, was high in Gwangneung Forest, indicating that the water system in Gwangneung Forest had a wider distribution of specifies sensitive to agitation. The biological water quality assessment showed ESB of $50.88{\pm}17.69$, KSI of $1.11{\pm}0.57$, and BMI of $78.55{\pm}11.05$. GS 8 of Gwangneung Forest torrent was judged to be the highest priority protective water area with the best water environment and I class water quality with ESB of 63, KSI of 0.55, and BMI of 89.9. On the contrary, BS 1 of Bongseonsa Stream was judged to be the high priority improvement area that had the lowest water quality rating of III with ESB of 25, KSI of 2.13, and BMI of 62.7. Although the diversity of water beetle was higher in the water system of nearby Bongseonsa Stream than the water system inside the Gwangneung Forest, the annual community structure appeared to have distinct differences.
Two kinds of security devices such as independent guarantees and standby letters of credit have been widely used in the international transactions. These devices design to protect one of the parties from a breach by its counter-party. Main uses of these guarantees and standby letters of credit are as follows : bid guarantee, performance guarantee, advance payment guarantee, payment guarantee, retention guarantee, etc. The standby letters of credit were first invented in the U.S.A. and have been widely used in the international and domestic contracts in the U.S.A. But the practical use of these credits is very unsatisfactory in Korea. The purpose of this study is to serve the increase of practical use of the standby letters of credit in Korea through the comparison study on the practical use of the credits between Korea and the U.S.A. Both devices are very similar in function, but they are very different in forms. The one has the form of letter of credits but the other has the form of guarantee. The letter of credit has the stability of governing rule, the legal certainty, and the preference in the field of the trade community comparing to the guarantee. I recommend to use standby letter of credit instead of bank guarantee in international transactions because of the merits of the credit aforesaid.

The objectives of this study were 1) to evaluate level of satisfaction of the farm helper system which has been executed by Ministry of Agriculture & Forestry from the year 2000 as one of the welfare policies for assisting production activities of woman farmers. and 2) to suggest some measures for improving farm helper system. The data were collected from selected 729 women farmers who utilized the farm helper system. The major findings and suggestions from this study were as follows: 1) Women farmers responded that they had positive attitudes toward utilizing farm helper system by answering 'obtaining mental stability'(34.6%). 'reducing a burden of child birth'(29.2%), 'continuing to work on farm activities'(24.4%) and 'trust in national policies'(10.7%). 2) In addition, women farmers wanted to use the helpers for two months, before and after having a child birth. 3) They suggested that farm helpers system should be extended to other areas such as farming(21.5%), nursing(18.6%), and child-caring(16.1%).

Among various two-dimensional (2D) materials, 2D semiconductors and insulators have attracted a great deal of interest from nanoscience community beyond graphene, due to their attractive and unique properties. Such excellent characteristics have triggered highly active researches on 2D materials, such as hexagonal boron nitride (hBN), molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), and tungsten diselenide (WSe2). New physics observed in 2D semiconductors allow for development of new-concept devices. Especially, these emerging 2D materials are promising candidates for flexible and transparent electronics. Recently, van der Waals heterostructures (vdWH) have been achieved by putting these 2D materials onto another, in the similar way to build Lego blocks. This enables us to investigate intrinsic physical properties of atomically-sharp heterostructure interfaces and fabricate high performance optoelectronic devices for advanced applications. In this talk, fundamental properties of various 2D materials will be introduced, including growth technique and influence of defects on properties of 2D materials. We also fabricate high performance electronic/optoelectronic devices of vdWH, such as transistors, memories, and solar cells. The device platform based on van der Waals heterostructures show huge improvement of devices performance, high stability and transparency/flexibility due to unique properties of 2D materials and ultra-sharp heterointerfaces. Our work paves a new way toward future advanced electronics based on 2D materials.
