  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the conceptional structure of residents' perception among tourism development impacts (economic benefits, social and environmental impact), community attachment and attitudes towards the effects of Baekdudaegan tourism development. This paper was adopted LISREL (linear structural relationships) approach, covariance structural equation model, to provided some insights on tourism development. Data of 356 were collected from Youngu and Mungyeong cities surrounding Baekdudaegan in Gyeongsangbuk-do. The results indicate that perceived economic benefits are rather greater impacts on attitudes than perceived social and environmental ones directly and indirectly. Also, perceived social impacts influence community attachment, however, perceived economic benefits and environmental impacts do not influence community attachment directly. Finally results reveal that the attitudes for supporting tourism development were found positively influenced by the identity of community attachment. Differently social exchange theory, the results suggested that residents' attitudes towards Baekdudaegan tourism development perceived positive strongly even a non related tourism resident.

In the pursuit of relating the research of community image-building with comprehensive local characteristics, this study selected the case of Jung Bang I village near Daejeon and analyzed the case through both written materials and on-site investigation. As a result of analysis, first, it was found that community image-building contributed positive effects in terms of the commercialization of the local community and its revitalization. Second, it was observed that community image-building led to form a "green route" that played a role as a passage to link townspeople to the country. It was also verified that those country villages that succeeded in image-building provided the places where people could experience the country and arts, which showed the potential of their roles as educational opportunities. In conclusion, this study will be able to suggest the direction to where the green tourism and image-building projects of the small communities near towns should go, and also provide a substantial guideline to related people regarding how to operate and maintain the local community.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a actual conditions and expert's role on the green tourism in rural community. There are four types of green tourism in rural villages. It is an alternative tourism that has naturalism and sustainability, not mass tourism. I can find it is a one of the new rural development method in a point of view of rural people's income. Green tourism requires a participation of village peoples. So, management hang on not government office, but village people themselves. By surveying green tourism villages in the case of this study, I propose a few results as follow; firstly, green tourism of Korea will give an innovation to stagnant rural society. Secondly, rural people themselves must participate directly in development and guidance, when every programs are advanced. Thirdly, through this project of green tourism, we expect that urban and rural symbiosisically have a network.
