This study investigates the influence of community involvement on the destination sustainability for community destinations and spiritual destinations in Vietnam. Community involvement is measured by two constructs, which are community attachment and residents' support. A structural questionnaire consisting of 41 observation variables measured on a 5-point Likert scale was used to survey households who live in a spiritual destination in An Giang province and three community destinations in Lang Son province with the help of local tour guides and Youth Union. 168 out of 200 responses collected were valid for multivariate data analysis. The results of confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling (SEM) reveal three main findings. Firstly, community attachment has a direct effect on both perceived benefits and destination sustainability. Secondly, while residents' support has a direct effect on perceived benefits, it indirectly affects destination sustainability. Finally, community destinations have a higher level of sustainability than the spiritual destination. Based on those findings, this study proposed three suggestions for local authorities, policymakers, and residents to improve the sustainable development of their local tourism destinations, including (1) diversifying local tourism products, (2) encouraging the community participation in tourism development programs, and (3) increasing in the expected benefits in local tourism development policies.

In the development of housing estates, 'Sustainable development' is indispensable to achieving quality in our living environments, and to minimize any environmental problems which may threaten our way of life. Developed from the 1970's, sustainable development has become the global paradigm. Determining and improving the community elements of a sustainable housing complex is important in order to improve the quality of life within the housing complex. The purpose of this study is to suggest evaluation factors of sustainability and community for the planning of a housing complex. For this purpose, this study firstly deduce the elements of sustainability and community. In the study, literature research methods are used for data collection. The results of this study are as follows: First, the elements of sustainability are comprised of social, economic and environmental aspects. Second, the elements of community are comprised of hardware, software, and human aspects.

Sustainable development has been praised as important new planning paradigm. The concept is being increasingly used in planning processes to address environmental, social and economic sustainable development. The social sustainability is important as community in modern life. The purpose of this study is to find out the community elements of sustainable housing to make it better life in residential environment. The Methods are content analysis and experts survey. We execute the literature for method to find the importance and indicator of social sustainability. We execute the experts survey to find the adequacy of the classification criteria, the adequacy of the indicators and the adequacy of the classification system. The findings of this study are as following; the social sustainability is important to support the sustainable housing planning. The indicator of the social sustainability is deduced; 'Locality' are deduced 'Native support', 'History and culture' and 'Reflected the local characteristics'. 'Communality' are deduced 'Citizen participation', 'Social integration', 'Community space and facilities' and 'community activities and programs'. In the 21st century numerous universities continue to have an interest in building a more sustainable campus. The concept related to sustainable development and sustainability is applied to new master plan of university or university building planning. The field of sustainable development can be conceptually broken into three constituent parts: environmental sustainability, economic sustainability and social sustainability. The realization of sustainable development will become when considered eco-friendly life of users, not only environmentally friendly technologies. This study aims to research the method of sustainable access to university building planning in Europe and Canada. First, certification and standards will focused on acquisition Green Building Certification. Then we look at trends of sustainability based on users and community through the system of prior consultation between university and users. For the desirable development of the sustainable campus, the sustainable planning of campus should be investigated with campus community, members and local residents considering the generation, the preservation, the maintenance of existing building.

Community-based housing is widely recognized as one unique mode of affordable housing provision discussed in the agenda of urban housing policy in the midst of global economy. While economic development of rural communities are severely blocked by many factors, the local housing needs at grass roots level are addressed in the response to the growing number of the elderly and shortage of adequate housing to accommodate the group, and the availability of affordable housing is primarily seen as a viable option to the sustainability of rural community. This research study is to examine the case study of community-based housing development in rural areas, and to explore the drives and hurdles that influence the success of each development. The on-site visits and in-depth interviews with community leaders were employed to meet the research goals. The findings show that the driving factors making the successful housing development include the firm commitment to the importance of affordable and adequate housing, strong leadership of community leaders, public support, well-advised dispersion of public resources and strong bond between the public sector and local people. In spite of all the contributing factors, the unfamiliarity of collective ownership is the leading hurdle to proceed the development in a timely manner.

In its Declaration of Principles, the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development recommends that, "to achieve sustainable development and a higher quality of life for all people, states should reduce and eliminate unsustainable patterns of production and consumption...." This notion of sustainability lies at the core of many "commons" problems, where the central issue is to enable "individuals to sustain long-term, productive use of natural resource systems". In other worlds, a common definition of "sustainability" captures the idea of aligning human consumption with the capacity of ecological systems to supply, over a long period of time, such natural resources as air, soil, or water on which production depends. The concept of sustainability raises all sorts of political, social, and economic questions about the distribution of environmental protection. For sustainable community development to be addressed, these questions must be raised. In order to convince different citizenry of the necessity of sustainability, these questions must also be answered. This is where questions of equity, justice, and fairness arise. Sustainability and equity require that we deal with nature as an undivided whole, with no part being unsustainable. Sustainability and social policy also requires that we deal with the human population as an undivided whole. We simply cannot move people around the planet to either perpetuate past practices of earth exploitation or to implement sustainable planning. Everyone must work with the people inhabiting sensitive ecological areas, especially areas of regeneration. In the sustainable global community, we are as strong as our weakest link, or our most toxic community. This is the undeniable driving force for the infusion of equity into the sustainable development debate.

This study is about the physical aspects and residents' perception for the public facilities in rural community through field investigation and interview. The purpose of this study is to present the planning of the public facilities in a rural community by field surveys and questionnaires. According to the results of the study, first, public facilities are necessary in a rural community to satisfy a variety of functions and the inhabitants' needs. Second, a community welfare center should consist of the facilities for inhabitants. Third, a community welfare center should establish sustainability, accessibility and identity to keep the main direction of planning.

This study analyzes previous research on 'The Self-Governance of the Commons' to overcome 'The Tragedy of the Commons', and derives elements for successful commons management. These factors are compared and analyzed with the social and economic attributes of the Jeju Haenyeo community, a successful community self-governance model. In addition, in the recently changing environment, it is revealed whether this internal community mechanism can be useful in the future. The goal is to reveal what social and economic factors will help the sustainability of the Jeju haenyeo community in the future. As a result of analyzing the internal operating mechanism of the Jeju haenyeo community, the production and distribution system that improves trust and reciprocity, the inherent sense of community, the division of roles between formal and informal organizations, and the institutionalized explicit and implicit norms within the organization served as internal and external strengths of community sustainability. However, the closure of the network, the crisis of productivity, the weakening of homogeneity, and the emergence of new subjects acted as internal and external weaknesses. In conclusion, for the sustainability of the Jeju Haenyeo community, it is necessary to reorganize the reproductive function of labor using the haenyeo school, to maintain clarity on the subject of livelihood and cultural transmission, and guarantee the income of Haenyeo.

This research intends to observe the effects of social capital regarding fashion social enterprises on the community sense of participating consumers, and verify the relationship of the effects that such social capital and community sense have on sustainability formation variable(shared values, suitability of values, behavioral flow, cognitive belief and long-term relationship orientation) of social enterprises. For such analysis, a sample of 400 consumers with experience of purchasing products of fashion social enterprises more than once was utilized, and path analysis was conducted utilizing AMOS 20.0. As a result of this research, first, information sharing, social participation among the characteristic factors of social enterprises' social capital had a meaningful impact on shared values, and self-pursuit and significance meaningfully affected the suitability of values. Second, mutual influence, sense of belonging, satisfaction of needs and emotional bond among the characteristic factors of community sense between social enterprises and consumers meaningfully affected shared values, whereas mutual influence, sense of belonging and emotional bond substantially influenced suitability of values. Third, shared values and suitability of values affected the relationship between behavioral flow and cognitive trust, and behavioral flow and cognitive trust both had meaningful impact on long-term relationship orientation.
