Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the status of care-giving for the demented elderly and to find out the need of community in-house care services-day care services, short-term care services, home help services, and home care services. Method: It analyzed the data of 186 old people having dementia, and caregivers. Data were collected for five days, in September 2002. Results: The caregivers were mostly women and the burden for the care giving was high (87.5%). They used community care services, that is, day care services (26.5%), home care services (21.6%), home help services 00.8%), short-term care services (6.2%). Caregivers' age and education level were significant factors in the demand for day care services. Caregivers' education level was a statistically significant factor in the demand for short-term care services and home help services. Caregivers' age and education level were significant factors in the demand for home care services. Conclusions: It is necessary to expand the financial aid for the active implementation of daytime protection for dementia-patients under medical treatment at home and to promote patients' recovery. It is necessary to enhance home help services and home care services, and to establish many day care centers and short term care centers. Through this, it will prevent caregivers from becoming burnt out due to the burden of care giving.

Community Wireless Networks define the next generation wireless services. Multimedia usages for financial services over community Wireless LAN (WLAN) based mesh networks require link stability. Several new services are being proposed for multimedia over WLANs. Portable Internet Services are implemented by several wireless carriers to proliferate their customer base. However, these services are still expensive and require a central telecom/wireless carrier whose monopoly and preference defines the availability of new services. Our research project identifies the usage of these critical services in public places over the financial services backbone architecture to provide efficient easy-to-use and economical services to their customers and merchants without being dependent on the central wireless carrier. The user connects to the network using his regular WLAN NIC using the Mesh Router/Bridge interconnectivity and obtains the needed multimedia and financial services from the ATM-AP Gateway, In our proposed scenario, the ATN AP-MR use AODV protocol and MR-MC is based on 802.11g/a/b IEEE standard. We use multi path routing protocols for reducing the congestion over a particular route. We demonstrate the results of our simulations and test-bed outcome to evaluate link failure rate and oversubscription factors to eliminate network congestion and non-availability of the critical financial services.

만성질환보유 저소득 노인의 삶의 질 향상과 의료비절감을 위해서는 지역사회 보건복지서비스와 병의원서비스간의 연계가 중요하다. 본 논문은 서울시 복지패널데이터를 이용하여 병의원 의료서비스와 지역사회 보건복지서비스간의 연계 욕구 및 실태를 분석하기 위하여 병의원서비스 이용경험이 지역사회 보건복지서비스 이용(욕구)에 미치는 영향을 로짓분석하였다. 분석결과 입원경험이 있는 노인들은 입원경험이 없는 노인에 비해 지역사회 보건복지서비스에의 욕구가 더 높음에도 불구하고 실제로 해당 서비스를 더 많이 받지 못하고 있었다. 또한 외래이용경험이 없는 저소득 만성질환노인은 외래경험이 있는 노인에 비해 지역사회 보건서비스에의 욕구는 더 높았으나 실제 이용률은 더 높지 않았다. 결론적으로 볼 때 우리나라 병의원 의료서비스와 지역사회 서비스간의 연계가 긴밀하게 이루어지지 않고 있음을 알 수 있다.

도서관(圖書館)은 그 기능의 발휘장소인 사회적 환경의 성격과 변화에 따라 형성되고 영향을 받는다. 이러한 사회적 장치로서 도서관은 정보시대(情報時代)라는 변화하는 상황에 맞추어 지역사회(地域社會) 정보봉사(情報奉仕)를 실시하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 지역사회 정보봉사의 등장배경과 범위를 살펴보고, 이 봉사를 실시하기 위해 필요한 전개요소와 혜택을 살펴보았다. 그리고 공공도서관(公共圖書館)을 대상으로 현황을 조사(調査), 분석(分析)하여 그 발전방안을 제시하였다.

공공기관으로서의 공공도서관의 책임성은 지역사회를 기반으로 한 봉사의 제공에서 찾을 수 있으며, 이는 지역주민의 요구 파악과 이를 만족시키기 위한 봉사의 계획 과정을 통하여 구현된다. 예산 압박을 경험하고 있는 공공도서관에서는 과거 일정 기준에 의한 평균적인 봉사의 제공에서 벗어나 각 지역사회와 지역주민의 특성에 맞는 봉사를 확대하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 1970년대 이후 공공도서관 연구의 주요 과제라 할 수 있는 이용자 및 지역사회의 특징과 요구의 분석, 그리고 지역사회의 요구를 만족시키기 위한 봉사 계획의 수립과정에 관한 연구 성과들을 정리하고, 지역사회를 기반으로 한 봉사의 확대를 위한 지침이 필요함을 제안하였다.

Background: Adolescent mothers may find the transition to motherhood to be Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the viewpoints of nurse managers and directors of nursing services in community hospitals regarding the essential competencies of head nurses. Methods: A qualitative descriptive design was used to investigate the perspective of nurse managers and directors of nursing services about essential competencies of nurse managers in community hospitals. A total of ten participants (four directors of nursing services and six nurse managers) were interviewed. Findings: Nurse managers and directors of nursing services identified leadership, management, communication, professional ethics, and policy and healthcare environment as the essential competencies for their positions in community hospitals. Conclusions: These findings can be used by executives of community hospitals and nursing institutes to plan for competency development for nurse managers. They should be included in nursing administration programs.

This study attempted to suggest a strategy for providing rural community tourism information services using smartphones. Study subjects were men and women among 300 who currently use smartphones. Empirical analysis was done on 249 of the 300 subjects. Upon verification of the effect factors of adults' smartphone usage and rural community tourism information services usage, they were both statistically significant based on Ajzen's(1991) Theory of planned behavior. Hence, behavior, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control should be augmented in order to increase smartphone usage behavior to access rural community tourism information services. Especially, behavioral intent and usage behavior was increased proportionately to behavioral control. We suggested that plans to provide applications free of charge and building a social consensus on utilizing rural community tourism information are important in achieving such status.

도서관 정보화와 인터넷 지역정보원의 확대는 제한된 자원을 갖고 있는 우리나라 공공도서관에 지역정보봉사의 개선을 위한 좋은 기회를 제공한다. 본 연구는 지역정보의 개념과 유통 및 공공도서관 지역정보봉사에 관한 문헌 연구와 사례 연구를 바탕으로 공공도서관이 인터넷 지역정보원에 접근하는 통로를 제공할 것을 제안하였다 이를 위하여 공공도서관의 지역정보센터에의 참여, 도서관 홈페이지를 통한 지역정보제공, 봉사인력의 양성, 그리고 적합한 봉사 모델 개발이 필요함을 설명하였다.

The purpose of this study focused on community role about Integrated child edu-care services. First, this study was carried out to determine the needs of teachers, parents about Community members. Second, this study was to examine community members' perception and support intention about Integrated child care services. The subjects were 124 teachers in child care center, 88 preschoolers with disabilities' parents, 172 community members. The major findings were as follows: (1) The result revealed parents and teachers's needs for community members support. (2) Community members' perception about Integrated child care services revealed greatly positive on every fields, (3) community members' support intention for the integrated chid care revealed very positive.

This study was carried out to investigate the present status of nutrition services for infants in public health centers and the need for nutrition services of health workers and infants mothers. The study subjects were 146 health workers and 197 infants mothers. The results were as follows : At present, the only major nutrition services for infants were vaccination and dental care. Proper nutrition management services were available to infants. Nutrition knowledge scores were 16.8 for health workers and 15.3 for mothers out of 20 possible points. Health workers strongly demanded a well-organized nutrition education program, government support, audio-visual materials and the employment of a community nutritionist. The public health workers, in particular, demanded the development of education programs for breastfeeding and weaning. The infants mothers demanded services of nutrition information and teaching of cooking and menu planning. Based on this, the results suggest that the employment of a community nutritionist and the development of practical nutrition service programs for infants are needed very urgently for public health centers.
