PC에서 유닛 제어를 위한 다중 스마트폰의 통신 인터페이스 연구 (Study on Communication Interface of Multiple Smartphones for Unit Control in a PC)

  • This study presents the unit control of a PC (Personal Computer) program using multiple smartphones based on ad hoc communication. A design of the data packet that multiple smartphones send to a computer, and a framework that manages and controls the unit in a computer after analyzing the data packet, are proposed. As a result, multiple users are able to control their own units using their smartphones while seeing the monitor connected to a computer. In other words, multiple users can share the same game in a computer or control their units embedded in a system using their smartphones. An experimental result shows that a racing game in a PC can be realized by the proposed communication interface, where four iPhones are used to control their units in a computer. Thus, the proposed framework can be effectively used for unit control in a PC using multiple smartphones.

  • We studied on the design of a sprinkler control system that communicates with the administrator's mobile through a wireless communication network and a sprinkler unit that sprays water on the vegetation area. This sprinkler control system consists of a communication module that receives an operation signal for the operation of the sprinkler unit from the administrator's mobile, and a control module that controls the sprinkler unit according to the operation signal received through the communication module. It is also designed to control sprinkler units by measuring temperature, humidity, light intensities, vibration and field images in the vegetation area in real time through sensors and camera for each of them and comparing them with established limit criteria. The sprinkler allows the administrator to control the sprinkler more easily because the administrator operates the sprinkler through the mobile from a distance, and emergency situations occur and can respond quickly.

  • In this paper, an interface unit is designed to efficiently monitor transmission data in Controller Area Network(CAN)-based control systems. The CAN uses a serial multi master communication protocol that efficiently supports distributed real-time control with a very high level of data integrity, and communication speeds of up to 1Mbps. The interface unit is composed of a DSP controller which collects data on the CAN bus and transfers data to a personal computer via serial communication to save and display of interesting signals. The experimental system consists of three DSP controllers which represent electronic control units of a vehicle, an interface unit for analysing the data on the bus, and a graphic monitoring program coded on the Windows platform. The validity and the effectiveness of the proposed simple type of CAN interface unit are shown through the experimental results.

  • We have designed the power control unit which belongs to the power cabinet and controls the power supplied to Control Rod Drive Mechanism(CRDM) as a digital system based on Digital Signal Processor(DSP). The power control unit dualized as the form of Master/Slave has had its increased reality. The Central Process Unit(CPU) board of a power control unit possesses two Digital Signal Processors(DSPs) of the control DSP for performing the tasks of power control and system monitoring and the communication of the Control DSP and the Communication DSP. To accomplish the functions requested in the power control unit effectively, we have installed Field Programmable Gate Arrays(FPGAS) on the CPU board and have FPGAs perform the memory mapping, the generation of each chip selection signal, the giving and receiving of the signals between the power controllers dualized, the fault detection and the generation of the firing signals.

  • CAN communication can minimize the interfacing lines between equipments because it is composed of only the input and output lines, also is used for automatic system including vehicle, aircraft, railway vehicles and robot because the reliability of data is high by the capability of data-related error detect and correcting function. It can also improve the low-reliable and inefficient system which is composed of the existing Wiring Harness(W/H), so in case of vehicle, it is used in place of the present ECU as the new electro-control unit. In this paper, we constructed the electro-control unit of vehicle by using CAN communication and implemented system that could monitor the condition of vehicle through the web or mobile by connecting the electro-control unit to imbedded system. Such a system is expected to be helpful to the intelligent vehicle and the adoption of ACC(Adaptive Cruise Control).

  • 드론의 발전으로 인해 드론의 임무는 다양한 분야에서 수행되며, 광범위한 영역에서 비가시권(BVLOS, Beyond Visual Line Of Sight) 비행한다. 대부분 드론은 무선 주파수(RF, Radio Frequency) 통신을 통해 운용되고 약 1-2 km의 제한된 반경에서만 비행이 가능하다. 이를 극복하기 위해 본 논문에서는 RF와 LTE (Long Term Evolution)를 활용하여 BVLOS에서 임무를 수행하는 드론을 조종하기 위한 다중 통신 프로토콜 기반 드론 조종 시스템을 제안한다. 제안한 시스템은 크게 조종부와 드론부로 이루어진다. 조종부는 조종기에서 발생한 하나의 조종 신호를 RF와 LTE를 통해 전송한다. 드론부는 RF와 LTE를 통해 이중으로 전송된 조종 신호를 통신 프로토콜의 우선순위에 따라 분류하여 FC (Flight Controller)로 전달한다. 제안한 조종 시스템을 통해 RF 통신 거리 한계를 극복하고 통신 연결 불능 상황을 방지할 수 있다.

Design and Implementation of Green Coastal Lighting System for Entrance to Coastal Pier

  • The hardware of an LED lighting control system for coastal lighting at coastal pier entrance consists of a power supply unit, an AVR control unit, a CLCD output unit, an LED control unit, a scenario selection switch unit, and an operation speed display unit. It is made of an 8-channel. The CPU used ATmega128 and the FET was used to control the current signal. To operate the CPU, DC 12V was converted to DC 5V using a regulator 7805. A heat sink was used to remove heat generated in the FET. By connecting the load LED module to the manufactured 8-channel LED lighting control system, the operation was confirmed through various production scenarios. In addition, a control system was designed to show the most suitable color for the atmosphere of the coastal pier according to the input value of temperature and illumination using a fuzzy control system. Computer simulation was then conducted. Results confirmed that fuzzy control did not need to store many data inputs due to characteristics of artificial intelligence and that it could efficiently represent many output values with simple fuzzy rules.

전력선 통신을 이용한 난방용 솔레노이드밸브 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Control of Solenoid Valve for Heating by using Power Line Communication (PLC))

  • PLC (Power Line Communication) is the communication method using the existing power line installed in houses and offices to convert and transmit high frequency communication signal from tens of KHz to tens of MHz, and receive the filtered signal using high frequency filter The advantage of PLC is that PLC uses the existing power line installed in houses and offices so it does not require separate power line. Easy and convenient access using electric outlets is another advantage of PLC. However, PLC has some disadvantages such as limited transmission power, high load interference and noise, variable signal attenuation, characteristic of impedance, and selective possibility of frequency property. We designed the boiler temperature control system unit by using the PLC modem. We can avoid unnecessary heating of separate temperature control unit, and save the cost accordingly control stability of the proposed system is proven through the experiment.

  • In this paper, we propose a new and cost-effective RCP (Rapid Control Prototyping) system based on Matlab/Simulink and a DAQ (Data Acquisition) unit with the high speed USB communication interface. The proposed RCP system has a feature that a computer on which Simulink is running acts as a realtime controller and a DAQ unit performs data acquisition, transmission of the data to and from a computer, and the application of control data received from the computer. For its implementation, we develop 10 communication blocks each of which is constructed by using S-function. In order to increase the data communication speed and thus to reduce the sampling period of the overall control system, we propose to use a batch transfer strategy through the USB interface. The proposed RCP system has several advantages over existing methods such as good maintainability, portability due to the USB interface, low cost, and no necessity for C-code generation even though it can only be applied to control systems with moderate sampling rates. It is expected that the proposed RCP system can be useful in teaching control-related topics to undergraduate and graduate students.

냉가스 추력기 시스템용 EM 제어기 및 점검 시스템 개발 (Development of Engineering Model for the Thruster Control Unit and Simulation system of the Reaction Control System)

  • 본 논문은 냉가스 추력기 시스템의 제어기로 사용되는 EM용 TCU(Thruster Control Unit)와 점검 시스템 개발에 관한 것이다. TCU는 추력기 시스템의 압력 및 온도를 모니터링하여 통신을 통해 이를 TLM(Telemet) 및 지상 제어 콘솔에 전달하는 역할을 수행한다. 이를 위해 CPU/통신보드는 MIL-STD-1553B 통신, RS422 통신, Data 입출력 및 처리 그리고 EEPROM 프로그램 로딩 기능을 수행한다. Intel 80386DX Microprocessor를 기반으로 설계하였으며 프로그램 저장 및 실행을 위해 256kbytes의 EEPROM과 256kbytes의 SRAM을 적용하였다. 또한 EEPROM 프로그램 로딩을 위해 인터페이스 회로 및 냉가스 추력기 시스템을 모사할 수 있는 점검 시스템을 개발하였다.
