소형 저속 풍동에서 NASA 표준 연구 모형의 모형지지부 효과 연구 (Study on Model Support Interference of the Scaled NASA Common Research Model in Small Low Speed Wind Tunnel)

  • 29.7% 축소 NASA 표준 연구 모형에 대하여 소형 저속 풍동에서 시험을 수행하였다. 풍동시험 모형은 NASA Langley 연구소와 AIAA 항력추정 워크숍 위원회의 지침에 따라 알루미늄으로 제작하였다. 풍동의 능력 한계 등으로 상대적으로 낮은 레이놀즈수인 0.3 × 106 에서 정적 힘과 모멘트를 측정하였다. 세 가지 타입(핀 스팅, 블레이드 스팅, 벨리 스팅) 모형지지부에 대하여 피칭모멘트를 비교하였다. 보정된 벨리 스팅과 핀 스팅에 의한 피칭모멘트 보정량은 비슷하였으며 블레이드 스팅에 의한 피칭모멘트 값이 가장 적었다.

  • An experimental and numerical study was performed to investigate the macroscopic and microscopic atomization characteristics of high-speed diesel spray issued from the common-rail injection system. For the experiments, spray visualization system and a phase Doppler particle analyzer system were utilized to obtain the spray atomization characteristics such as the process of spray development, spray tip penetration, and SMD distribution. In order to analyze the process of spray atomization with KIVA-3 code, the TAB breakup model is changed to the KH-DDB competition model, which assumes the competition between the wave instability and droplet deformation causes the droplet breakup above the breakup length. The calculated results were also compared with the experiments in terms of spray tip penetration and SMD distribution. The results provide the process of spray development, axial and radial distribution of SMD, and calculated overall SMD as a function of time after start of injection.

Improved Vertically-Aligned Nematic Mode for High Performance Displays

  • This paper presents an improved vertical alignment nematic liquid crystal mode characterized by the protrusions or slits of the top substrate and additional stripe type common electrodes with polarity switching of the bottom substrate to improve multi-domain vertically aligned (MVA) and patterned vertically aligned (PVA) nematic modes. MVA and PVA modes have disadvantages such as an LC disclination in the vicinity of the middle region of electrodes between the top and bottom protrusions in MVA mode or the top and bottom slits in PVA mode. Therefore, the stripe type common electrode generating a horizontal electric field and the protrusion or slit producing some pretilt of liquid crystals (LCs) were used to improve the LC disclination, which influences the transmittance and response speed. The simulation results showed that the proposed VA mode has higher transmittance than the MVA and PVA modes. As a result, the proposed VA mode can improve the response speed and transmittance remarkably, which makes it useful for upgrading the LCD display quality.

A 4-Channel 6.25-Gb/s/ch VCSEL Driver for HDMI 2.0 Active Optical Cables

  • This paper presents a 4-channel common-cathode VCSEL driver array operating up to 6.25 Gb/s per channel for the applications of HDMI 2.0 active optical cables. The proposed VCSEL driver consists of an input buffer, a modified Cherry-Hooper amplifier as a pre-driver, and a main driver with pre-emphasis to drive a common-cathode VCSEL diode at high-speed full switching operations. Particularly, the input buffer merges a linear equalizer not only to broaden the bandwidth, but to reduce power consumption simultaneously. Measured results of the proposed 4-channel VCSEL driver array implemented in a $0.13-{\mu}m$ CMOS process demonstrate wide and clean eye-diagrams for up to 6.25-Gb/s operation speed with the bias current 2.0 mA and the modulation currents of $3.1mA_{PP}$. Chip core occupies the area of $0.15{\times}0.1{\mu}m^2$ and dissipate 22.8 mW per channel.

  • 본 논문은 고성능 공통 입력버퍼를 가지는 패킷 스위치 패브릭을 위한 새로운 3차원 라운드로빈 스케줄러에 관한 연구이다. 본 논문에서 제안된 스케줄러는 각 입력 버퍼에서 각 출력 큐를 독립적으로 관리하는 분산형 공통 버퍼를 가지는 스위치 패브릭구조에서 고속으로 동작하는 스케줄러이다. 제안된 스케줄러는 M 개의 각 공통 입력 버퍼가 K개의 입력 및 출력 포트를 가지고 N 개의 가상 출력 큐를 관리하고 $K\geq$M (K$\leq$M)일 때 매 K(M) 사이클 마다 MxK 개의 가상 출력 큐들이 목적 출력포트로 패킷을 전송할 수 있도록 스케줄링한다. 대량 병렬 스케줄링 구조를 이용하여 대용량의 스위칭 포트를 가지는 고성능 스위치 패브릭에의 고속 응용을 지원한다.

  • Turnout is a mechanical installation enabling railway trains to be guided from one track to another at a railway junction. A movable nose crossing frog is a device used at a railway turnout to eliminate the gap at the common crossing (High manganese, block, assembly crossing)which can cause impact damage, noise and vibration. Our government has a plan speed up of conventional line to 250km/h semi-high speed. We had already developed flexible turnout with fixed crossing(High manganese) and SFC fastening system can cover in the semi-high speed line In this study is about development of the movable nose crossing turnout available Semi-high speed line on concrete track. This paper describes about geometry, attack angle, bending stress at the nose, switching force, safety of continuous welded long rails. This movable nose crossing turnout is expected greatly increases passing speed of turnout in national railway.

  • Texturing is the process of including a characteristic of a natural fiber in a synthetic fiber. The most common method of it the false twist texturing. Nylon textured yarn is primarily manufactured by the disk type. The major process parameters or the disk type false twist machine ratio, disk/yarn, and heater temperature. This study therefore investigated the effects of false twist texturing, especially speed and draw ratio, on the physical properties of nylon textured yarn. The increase of speed was proportional to the increase of unwinding tension, which could reduce the production efficiency by elevating the tension affecting to fiber during the process. In addition, the increase of speed was inversely proportional to the increase of crimp rigidity of nylon textured yarn. Draw ratio was proportionally increased with the increase of tenacity and the reductions of fineness and elongation, showing the influence or draw ratio to the ultimate physical properties of textured yarn.

  • This paper deals with a batch processor model in which the batch processing speed depends on the jobs assigned to the batch. Each job is completed by accomplishing its required job processing quantity which is calculated as job speed product processing time. Its speed is given as not the exact value but the range. Thus the batch sets are constructed by the jobs which hold the speed in common. And the batch sets are processed as soon as possible. We developed the model to described the problem situation and adopt the total tardiness as the decision criterion.

보간 길이 최적화에 의한 5축밀링 가공속도 향상 (Machining Speed Enhancement for 5-Axis Milling by Step Length Optimization)

  • In this paper, an NC data optimization approach for enhancing 5-axis machining speed is presented. It is usual to use expensive commercial CAD/CAM programs for NC data of 5-axis machining, since it needs very large calculations for optimal tool positioning and orientation, tool path planning, and collision-free tool path generation. Since commercial CAD/CAM systems have similar functions and efficiency based on common algorithms of reliable theories, they do not have their own unique features for machining speed and efficiency. In other words, most commercial CAD/CAM systems consider only the characteristics of part geometry to be machined, which means that they generate almost the same NC data if the part to be machined is the same, even though different machines are used for the pin. A new approach is proposed for optimizing NC data of 5-axis machining, which is based on the characteristics of the machine to be operated. As a result, the speed of 5-axis machining can increase without losing machining accuracy and surface quality.

동일 차량간 충돌 시 차량간 속도 대칭성 연구 (A Study of Symmetry in Speed of Two Identical Vehicles in a Frontal Oblique Crash)

  • Oblique car to car frontal impact is quite common on the road and series of studies have been done to realize this in the lab. At a certain angle of oblique crash a car (ego) is to travel at a speed of xkm/h to hit the other car(traffic) which is approaching to ego at a speed of ykm/h. Symmetry of the speed of two vehicles, x vs. y, is studied with respect to the impulse of the ego vehicle as well as occupant injury. If there is symmetry of speed of two vehicles, number of case studies needed to analyze the oblique frontal impact may decrease: ex. in the case of 30degree oblique crash 40km/h (ego) / 80km/h (traffic) will show the similar behavior as 80km/h (ego) / 40km/h (traffic) crash.
