Container Flow Management in Port Logistics Based on BPM Framework

  • To promote process effectiveness and efficiency, it is necessary that port logistics employ automated equipments for handling containers. There exists a system for automatically managing the container flow, called Control Module. However, it has limitation to assign the execution order to the machine and monitor the container flow in real time process. Business process management (BPM) provides a suitable and effective framework to address this problem including controlling and monitoring the flow of each container. Since the nature of container handling process is different with the common process in BPM that is conducted by human performer, it is necessary to adjust the BPM framework in the domain of port logistic management. This study presents a BPM framework corresponds with both human-based and machine-based activity to enhance the efficiency of port process flow including container flow. This framework is introduced as an integrated approach and mechanism of BPM application into the container handling system for the purpose of port logistics process automation.

  • In the process of software development, object-oriented framework enables directly improving the productivity of the developer through the reuse of code, analysis and design informations. object-oriented framework is a set of usable and expandable classes and their connectivity. It is a meta solution that contains the code to be reused in the framework and the expert design results on a specific area. This paper constructs the framework that extracts the common services of BBS, chatting, white board and ftp applications for internet-based remote education system. These services can be mostly reused within heterogeneous applications in the form of component.

Development of BIM Collaboration Framework Based on ISO 19650 (국제표준을 반영한 BIM 협업 프레임워크 개발)

  • In recent years, the mandatory use of BIM has been actively promoted due to the digital transformation of the construction industry. However, the CDE (Common Data Environment) system, which is an essential element for operating BIM, has not been established in accordance with the domestic situation. To solve this problem, this study analyzed the results of previous studies, including the ISO 19650 standard and domestic CDE system requirements, and developed BIM-based collaboration functions that are suitable for the domestic construction industry through functional analysis of domestic and foreign commercial CDE solutions. And we developed a BIM collaboration framework to provide BIM-based collaboration functions as a service by using cloud technologies such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS to provide infrastructure resources flexibly and flexibly. The BIM collaboration framework developed in this study meets most of the CDE requirements of ISO1965, so it can secure competitiveness when bidding for overseas BIM projects. Also, because the BIM collaboration functions can be selectively applied to build a BIM-based collaboration platform, it is expected that the utilization of the BIM collaboration framework will be high, as it can minimize not only the time to build the platform but also the operating costs, and the usability is higher than that of existing commercial BIM CDE solutions.

  • Building Information Modeling(BIM) technology continues to develop and is now being applied to infrastructure facilities. As smart technology based on BIM is applied to the construction industry, the construction of the same data in a common environment is considered to be a very important step in various applications. This study was conducted on methods to establish an open BIM-based airport facility information common data environment. Therefore, this study develops the element technology to establish a common data environment for the integrated management of airport facility information, and aims to standardize data in the common data environment among various technologies and applications. In order to achieve the aim, in this study, the required technologies were derived by examining the common data environment and examining the civil engineering facility field and the case of integrated airport facility management. Through this, standards and development for information standard framework, information requirement level, BIM guidebook, and BIM library were developed in connection with national and higher standards. Through these standards, it is expected that the integrated management of various airport facilities will be efficiently carried out through a standard data platform in the future.

On the Interdisplinary Linkage Framework between Engineering Discipline and Social Science Discipline (과학기술-사회과학 연계모형의 모색)

  • Recently, the interdisciplinary linkage between engineering and social science has received an increasing attention as an emerging education discipline. Due to intrinsic complexity of innovation process and heterogeneity of disciplinary nature, however there exists little, if not no, effort to draw a common framework in terms of educational scope and contents of the new subject. This paper presents a number of criteria and guidelines for building up new educational framework by integrating engineering subject and social science subject. Specifically, three neo-disciplines, technology policy, technology management, and economics of technology are considered since it is postulated that the forementioned disciplines have established academic identity and fundamental structure By nature, this paper is an exploratory and seminal one. It is not the purpose of this paper to provide a concrete table of contents of educational material. Instead, it merely brings up a discussion topic for the wide audience of academic arena, leaving the gradual consensus and convergence as future task.

  • An ergonomic evaluation model which can properly evaluate the design of a product or workplaces was developed to evaluate a new product in the early stage of design. Although several evaluation models have been developed and are in use in the field of ergonomics, they lack an integrated framework and analysis techniques. In this research, an ergonomic evaluation model was developed according to the framework which accommodates desirable components of the model. The framework represents the integration of four components: man model, workplace modeller, ergonomic evaluation functions and knowledge bases, which interact with a common object-oriented database. Components were developed individually and integrated with the workplace modeller. The generation and manipulation of man models, workplace modelling, and ergonomic evaluation features such as reach and visibility were implemented. The developed evaluation model has demonstrated distinct advantages of the flexibility to adapt another features for the ergonomic evaluation model and the better usability for users.

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the concept, general framework, planning process of bioregion, and bioregional impacts on landscape planning of future and to discuss the application possibility of landscape planning. Bioregionalism is defined in the course of following: knowing the land, learning the lore, developing the potential, liberating the self. Bioregional paradigm was composed of policy system insisted on diversity and decentralization based on region and community, sustainable economy structure focused on conservation and stability, and society structure through cooperation with common consciousness in the community. A general bioregional framework was organized to be able to achieve a sustainable future with interaction for humans being, other living things, and important earth life system. Bioregional mapping should be able to explain three important aspects about how localised and sustainable cultures would exist: to define the external boundaries, to describe forces of energy, and give a hint for th productive capability. In conclusion, according to the result of reviewing the total environmental planning, bioregional paradigm, examples of projects, technique of bioregional mapping, and actions of Nongovernmental Organizations(NGOs). this study is helpful to show an applicability of bioregional planning theory in Korea

  • As the applications and services based on the augmented reality are widely spread in various industry and public domain information dissemination areas, it is naturally necessary to provide the common information framework which can describe required detailed information for services. JPSearch which is released for unified access to image repositories can be utilized in this kind of infrastructure due to that the framework for augmented reality needs a constituent component which supports image repositories. In this paper, we propose a metadata schema which is designed for information architectural framework in the environment of augmented reality based on workflow. The proposed information schema can support the workflow of augmented reality related production system and service implementation.

Integrating Spatial and Temporal Relationship Operators into SQL3 for Historical Data Management

  • A spatial object changes its states over time. However, existing spatial and temporal database systems cannot fully manage time-varying data with both spatial and non-spatial attributes. To overcome this limitation, we present a framework for spatio-temporal databases that can manage all time-varying historical information and integrate spatial and temporal relationship operators into the select statement in SQL3. For the purpose of our framework, we define three referencing macros and a history aggregate operator and classify the existing spatial and temporal relationship operators into three groups: exclusively spatial relationship operators, exclusively temporal relationship operators, and spatio-temporal common relationship operators. Finally, we believe the integration of spatial and temporal relationship operators into SQL3 will provide a useful framework for the history management of time-varying spatial objects in a uniform manner.

  • In the present study, a shape design optimization scheme in shell structures is implemented based on the integrated framework of geometric modeling and analysis. The common representation of B-spline surface patch is used for geometric modeling. A geometrically-exact shell finite element is implemented. Control points or the surface are employed as design variables. In the computation of shape sensitivity, semi-analytical method is employed. Sequential linear programming is applied to the shape optimization of surfaces. The developed integrated framework should serve as a powerful tool to design and analysis of surfaces.
