Combustion Characteristics of Common Rail System by Using a Heavy Duty Transparent Engine (Common Rail을 이용한 대형 디젤 가시화엔진에서의 연소특성)

  • To meet strict emission regulation while improving engine performances, common rail injection system which is suitable for electronic control, and capable of controlling injection quantity, timing, rate and pressure individually as well as realizing high pressure has been developed. At present study, a 8L DI diesel engine was converted to a single-cylinder experimental engine allowing optical access through an extended piston and a prototype of common rail injector in progress was applied to the engine. The combustion characteristics of the engine were analysed by using direct images and characteristics of the injector were analysed. We can not say that the results are always the same to general common rail injection system but that they are just characteristics of specific prototype injector.

Common Calls of Poodle (Poodle의 발성음)

  • This study was performed to analyse the common calls of poddle spectrographically : bark, growl, howl, snore, yelp and whine. The sonograms of 6 common calls were shown their own specific features. There were significant differences among each types of common callsin the parceter of minimun frequency of call (MIFC), maximun frequency of call (MAFC), duration of call (DC), interval between call (IBC), dominant frequency (DF), F1 formant, F2 formant and F3 formant (P<0.01). It was considered that it was possible to record the main common calls dogs by sonograms and it sould be applied to objective basic data for understanding the psychological stats of dogs, the social relationship among them and the relationship sith human being.

Distribution and abundance of wintering raptors in the Korean peninsula

  • The purpose of this study is to examine distribution and abundance of wintering raptors in Korea during 2000-2007 which is a rare data set for covering large landscape areas. Total 6,643 raptors of 16 species were recorded at 94 different points in west, south and east coasts, and rivers of inland areas all over Korea. During the study period, the most abundant raptors were black vulture (Aegypius monachus, 62.3%), common kestrel (Falco tinnunculus, 11.0%) and common buzzard (Buteo buteo, 10.0%), and these 3 birds were dominant species in inland areas and also considered as resident species except for black vulture. Also, there was a difference among 5 different habitat types. Black vultures were most found in estuaries whereas common buzzard and common kestrel could be found in coastal areas. Presumably raptors prefer reservoirs and estuaries probably due to lower human disturbance in these areas, and management efforts should be concentrated in inland areas for black vulture and coastal areas for common kestrel and common buzzard.

  • This research identifies the elements of the methodologies of Newton's discovery of his dynamics. These methodologies involve the transformation of preceding theoretical concepts and the discovery of common cause. This essay consists of two parts within historical case studies of Newton's works. The elements of the method of discovery consists of the transformation of preceding concepts and the identification of common cause in the formation of the research program's hard cores and protective belts. Newton transformed their predecessors' concepts to find out appropriate common causes in his dynamical theory. The transformed theoretical concepts are synthesized to be constructed as the elements of common cause which provide the foundations of Newtonian research programs.

Performance evaluation of AS/RS common zone storage policy with demand variation (수요변동시 자동창고의 공동영역 저장정책 수행도 평가)

  • Performances of common zone with various sizes are examined for possible demand rate variations for an AS/RS. Common zone is a middle area located between the 1st class and the 2nd class to be used by the 1st class Items if the assigned racks are not enough. This area is designed to resolve the rack shortage problem associated with a particular class. In the previous researches, effect of demand rate variation is Ignored since flxed demand rate is assumed. It is found that rack shortage rate is decreased up to 67% of common zone size. However, no difference is found at above 70%. Waiting time tends to be longer with Increased common zone while travel time and throughput are not affected at all with the common zone sloe.

  • A few sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of fixed point and common fixed point for certain contractive type mappings in complete metric spaces are provided. Several existence and uniqueness results of solution and common solution for some functional equations and system of functional equations in dynamic programming are discussed by using the fixed point and common fixed point theorems presented in this paper.

  • Much attention has been given to EMI effects created in variable speed ac drive system. Zero switching states of inverter control invoke large common mode voltage. This paper focuses on the switching techniques to mitigate common mode voltage. This paper proposes a common-mode voltage reduction method based on sinusoidal pulse width modulation in three phase PWM inverter system. By using three carriers wave displaced by 120 degrees, it is possible to eliminate a common mode voltage pulse In one control period. Simulation and experimental results show that common mode voltages In the proposed technique are reduced more than conventional technique.

  • The purpose of this study is to construct fundamental information about the ultrasonographic diagnosis for extrinsic and intrinsic abdominal disease. Normal ultrasonography of liver, gall bladder, spleen, kidney, urinary bladder, stomach, pylorus, duodenum, and heart of 5 common marmoset(Callithrix jacchus) were determined by use of ultrasonography. One common marmoset was autopsied at the time of euthanasia which is performed 24 hours after ultrasonography, and above mentioned organs were measured actually. In ultrasonography of common marmoset, the gall bladder was 8.2 cm long, and 3.4 cm wide. The width of spleen was 4.3 mm. The right kidney was 22.2 mm long, 16.1 mm wide, and 9.3 deep. The ultrasonographic measurements of the left kidney in calves was similar. The urinary bladder was 8.6 mm long, and 5.0 mm wide.

  • In this paper, we perform a simulation to verify the earth resistance values in Common Earth Network. The simulation is performed on the assumption that certain shorts are occurred in common earth network. Furthermore, from the result, we confirmed that very small earth resistance values in common earth network are given, by carrying out practical measurements in railway sections where common earth network is composed. From the effect, we could discover that the construction of common earth network is in a disadvantageous position on the financial aspect, while it is the most desirable way of construction for the purpose of Earth.

  • This paper is studied on earth network configuration when common earth is applied to electrified railway system. And the permitted capacity of buried earth cable used for configuring common earth network and application plan of existing individual earth system when common em1:h network is applied to existing electrification line improvement are studied. For this, the configuration of common earth network is examined according to the SNCF regulation, and the interface between common earth and individual earth is analysed on the basis of the existing track circuit used in electrified line.
