화학적 침식을 받은 콘크리트구조물의 보수기술 개발과 실용화연구 (A Study on the Development and the Practical Approach for Repair Method of RC Structures Subjected to the Chemical Attack)

  • 본 연구는 하수시설과 같은 열악한 환경에서의 구조물의 열화원인에 대하여 분석한 후 내구성회복을 위하여 항균성개질재와 무기질단면피복재의 개발을 통한 보수공법을 구축하였다. 또한 항균성개질재와 무기질단면 피복재의 복합 사용할 경우에 있어서 이들의 특성평가를 위하여 항균시험, 침투성시험, 침투후의 강도특성 및 전자현미경(SEM)을 이용하여 항균성개질재의 작용에 의한 마이크로조직의 변화특성을 평가하였다. 또한 습윤면에 부착성이 우수한 방식피복재와 항균성개질재의 복합에 의한 내구특성시험을 실시한 후 공정별 상호 부착특성을 파악하기 위하여 현장시험시공과 더불어 실구조물(하수구조물, 지하철구조물)에 적용 후 부착특성을 평가하여 개발된 보수기술에 대한 현장 적용성을 분석하였다.

  • The water containing soluble manganese may cause problems such as discolored water, unpleasant taste, fouling or scaling of pipes in water distribution system, and so on. Conventional water treatment processes using sand filtration or sedimentation after oxidation, however, cannot often meet manganese standard for drinking water. Two types of oxidants, potassium permanganate ($KMnO_4$) and sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), were utilized at the same time for manganese oxidation, and then the precipitated manganese oxides were removed by low pressure membrane filtration in this study. In batch experiments, the multiple injection of both oxidants showed more effective manganese removal than did the single injection using either of them. Moreover, the deterioration of manganese removal at low temperature was less serious for the multiple injection than that for the single injection. Manganese removal by the continuous system of oxidation by multiple injection combined with membrane filtration was higher than those by batch experiments at the same oxidation conditions. In addition, less membrane fouling was observed for membrane filtration with oxidation during continuous membrane filtration than membrane filtration without oxidation. These results indicate that the oxidation by multiple injection coupled with membrane filtration was efficient and applicable to actual water treatment for manganese removal.

  • Multiseeding 방법을 사용하여 Y-Ba-Cu-0 초전도_ 시료를 제조하였다. Multiseeding은 여러개의 종자를 동시에 사용함으로써 단시간에 큰 size의 시료를 제조하고자 하는 의도에서 시도되었다. 또한 field-cooled 상태에서 포획 자기장의 크기를 측정함으로써 입자간 결합 상태와 시료의 품질을 평가하였다. 일반적인 방법으로 제조할 경우 포획 자기장 값은 입계를 지나면서 크게 감소하였는데, 이는 입계에 존재하는 잔류액상 및 미반응 211 입자 등에 기인한 결과이다. 입계를 따라 미반응상들이 잔류하는 현상을 억제하기 위해 본. 연구에서는 종자들간의 간격을 조절하였다. 그 결과 종자결정들간의 간격을 최대한 좁게 배열하였을 때 포획자기장의 크기가 입계에서 감소하지 않는 결과를 얻었다. 이와 같이 종자간의간격이 충분히 가까울 경우에는, 결정성장 초기에 두 입자가 하나로 결합될 수 있으므로 입계에 미반응 액상이 잔류하는 현상을 억제할수 있었던 것으로 생각된다.

자동차 전장품용 무연솔더 접합부의 시리즈 시험 유효성 (Validation of sequence test method of Pb-free solder joint for automotive electronics)

  • Due to environmental regulations (RoHS, WEEE and ELV) of the European Union, electronics and automotive electronics have to eliminate toxic substance from electronic devices and system. Specifically, reliability issue of lead-free solder joint have an increasing demand for the car electronics caused by ELV banning. The authors prepared engine control unit and cabin electronics soldered with Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu (SAC305). To compare with the degradation characteristics of solder joint strength, thermal cycling test (TC), power-thermal cycling test (PTC) and series tests were conducted. Series tests were conducted for TC and PTC combined stress test using the same sample in sequence and continuously. TC test was performed at $-40{\sim}125^{\circ}C$ and soak time 10 min for 1000 cycles. PTC test was applied by pulse power and full function conditions during 100 cycles. Combined stress test was tested in accordance with automotive company standard. Solder joint degradation was observed by optical microscopy and environment scanning electron microscopy (ESEM). In addition, to compare with deterioration of bond strength of quad flat package (QFP) and chip components, we have measured lead pull and shear strength. Based on the series test results, consequently, we have validated of series test method for lifetime and reliability of Pb-free solder joint in automotive electronics.

염해 및 복합열화에 의한 부식촉진시험과 장기폭로 시험의 상관성에 관한 연구 (Study on the correlation between long-term exposure tests and accelerated corrosion tests by the combined damage of salts)

  • Interest in the durability assessment and structural performance has increased according to an increase of concrete structures in salt damage environment recent years. Reliable way ensuring the most accelerated corrosion test is a method of performing the rebar corrosion monitoring as exposed directly to the marine test site exposure. However, long-term exposure test has a disadvantage because of a long period of time. Therefore, many studies on reinforced concrete in salt damage environments have been developed as alternatives to replace this. However, accelerated corrosion test is appropriate to evaluate the critical chlorine concentration in the short term, but only accelerated test method, is not easy to get correct answer. Accuracy of correlation acceleration test depends on the period of the degree of exposure environments. Therefore, in this study, depending on the concrete mix material, by the test was performed on the basis of the composite degradation of the salt damage, and investigate the difference of corrosion initiation time of the rebar, and indoor corrosion time of the structure, of the marine environment of the actual environments were inuestigated. The correlation coefficient was derived in the experiment. Long-term exposure test was actually conducted in consideration of the exposure conditions submerged zone, splash zone and tidal zone. The accelerated corrosion tests were carried out by immersion conditions, and by the combined deterioration due to the carbonation and accelerated corrosion due to wet and dry condition.

갑상선 수술 시의 성대마비의 처치 (Management of Vocal Cord Palsy during Thyroid Surgery)

  • Objectives, Materials & Methods: To prevent deterioration of postoperative voice due to iatrogenic transection of the recurrent laryngeal nerve during the thyroid surgery, intraoperative medialization of the membranous vocal cord by type I thyroplasty together with direct epineurial neurorraphy was done on 2 cases of benign thyroid lesion. To improve the quality of voice together with complete removal of advanced thyroid carcinoma, intraoperative vocal cord medialization on the lesion side together with total thyroidectomy was done by type I thyroplasty in 2 cases and combined procedure by arytenoid adduction and type I thyroplasty in another 2 cases. Results: The resultant voice of the iatrogenic injury cases was relatively tolerable. The voice of the combined procedure was better than that of type I thyroplasty cases for the intraoperative rehabilitation cases. Not only for the preoperative evaluation of the severity of the nerve lesion but also the prognosis will be expected by use of laryngeal EMG in the cases of thyroid cacer with vocal cord palsy. Conclusion: Intraoperative simultaneous rehabilitation for the vocal cord palsy during thyroid surgery is beneficial for the patients.

오스테나이트계 Fe-18Cr-10Mn-2Ni 합금의 연성-취성 천이 거동에 미치는 침입형 원소의 영향 (Effect of Interstitial Elements on Ductile-Brittle Transition Behavior of Austenitic Fe-18Cr-10Mn-2Ni Alloys)

  • The effect of interstitial elements on the ductile-brittle transition behavior of austenitic Fe-18Cr-10Mn-2Ni alloys with different nitrogen and carbon contents was investigated in this study. All the alloys exhibited ductile-brittle transition behavior because of unusual low-temperature brittle fracture, even though they have a faced-centered cubic structure. With the same interstitial content, the combined addition of nitrogen and carbon, compared to the sole addition of nitrogen, improved the low-temperature toughness and thus decreased the ductile-brittle transition temperature (DBTT) because this combined addition effectively enhances the metallic component of the interatomic bonds and is accompanied by good plasticity and toughness due to the increased free electron concentration. The increase in carbon content or of the carbon-to-nitrogen ratio, however, could increase the DBTT since either of these causes the occurrence of intergranular fracture that lead to the deterioration of the toughness at low temperatures. The secondary ion mass spectroscopy analysis results for the observation of carbon and nitrogen distributions confirms that the carbon and nitrogen atoms were significantly segregated to the austenite grain boundaries and then caused grain boundary embrittlement. In order to successfully develop austenitic Fe-Cr-Mn alloys for low-temperature application, therefore, more systematic study is required to determine the optimum content and ratio of carbon and nitrogen in terms of free electron concentration and grain boundary embrittlement.

An Improved Proton Recoil Telescope Detector for Fast Neutron Spectroscopy

  • MeV 영역의 속중성자분광을 위해 재래의 radiator system을 개량하여 ringshaped vertical radiator와 cone-shaped horizontal radiator를 공용한 특수한 recoil proton radiator assembly를 사용함으로서 energy 분해능의 저하없이 검출효율을 높이도록 recoil Proton telescope detector를 설계ㆍ제작하였다. 이 검출기에는 입사중성자속에 대한 Si(ti) 검출기의 직접노출을 피함으로서 background를 줄일수 있도록 입사중성자차폐부도 고안 내장되어 있다. 이 개량된 recoil proton telescope detector의 검출효율 및 energy 분해능을 중성자 energy 1-15 MeV에 대하여 radiator system과 Si(Li) 검출기사이의 거리변화에 따라 이론적인 계산치로 도출ㆍ표시하였으며, 실험적검증의 예로서 이 거리를 29cm로 하고 중성자 energy를 14.1 MeV로 하였을 때의 검출기의 제특성측정결과를 얻어 분석하였다. 측정결과의 분석에 의하면 이론에서 추정된것처럼 혼합형 radiator system을 사용하였을 때의 검출 효율은 단일 radiator system을 사용한 재래식 검출기의 검출효율의 2.2배의 증가를 보인데 반하여 energy 분해능의 저하는 불과 30%, background의 증가는 약40% 말만임을 알수가 있었다. 또한 측정에 의한 14.1 MeV 중성자에 대한 energy 분해능은 3.9% FWHM었는데, 이는 이논적인 3.7% FWHM와 거의 완전한 일치를 보이고 있음도 입증되였다.

Effect of coating with combined chitosan and gallic acid on shelf-life stability of Jeju black cattle beef

  • Objective: Beef of Jeju black cattle (JBC) is considered as a healthy meat type due to its significantly higher unsaturated fatty acids (UFA). Lipid (e.g., UFA) is highly susceptible to oxidizing agents, which results in the quality deterioration and economic value loss of meat products. Therefore, development and application of novel preservative techniques is necessary to improve the shelf-life stability of high-UFA beef. The objective of this study was to assess the applicability of chitosan-based coatings in preservation of JBC beef. Methods: Different coating solutions: 2% chitosan alone, and 2% chitosan containing 0.1% or 0.3% gallic acid were prepared to investigate their applicability in preservation of fresh beef during storage. Jeju black cattle beef (2-cm thick steaks) were non-coated (control) or coated with the above coating solutions, placed on trays, over-wrapped with plastic film and stored at 4℃. The microbiological indices, color, total volatile basic nitrogen (TVBN) and lipid oxidation of the beef were investigated after 1, 10, and 21 days of storage. Results: Coating with 2% chitosan alone reduced the spoilage bacteria count, TVBN and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances levels in the beef compared with control during storage (p<0.05). Noticeably, coating with 2% chitosan containing 0.1% or 0.3% gallic acid was more effective on retardation of spoilage bacteria growth, lipid oxidation and discoloration in the beef compared to the chitosan coating alone over the storage period (21 days) (p<0.05). Conclusion: Taken together, the combined chitosan and gallic acid coating could be used as a bio-preservative technique in the meat industry.

대단면 터빈 기초 구조물의 부분발파해체 시공사례 (A Case Study on Partial Explosive Demolition of a Large-Section Turbine Foundation Structure)

  • 산업구조물의 기능적.구조적 노후화에 따른 해체 수요가 증가하고 있으며, 시간적.공간적 환경위해요소를 최소화하기 위해 발파해체공법 또는 기계식해체 및 발파해체를 혼용한 해체공법의 적용이 증가하고 있다. 본 시공사례에서는 대단면 철근콘크리트 구조물인 터빈기초 구조물을 해체하기 위해 부분발파해체 공법을 적용하였다. 발파 결과, 터빈기초 구조물의 보와 기둥과의 접합부, 우각부의 헌치, 2층 기둥부가 적절하게 파쇄되었으며, 주변 시설물에 피해 없이 발파를 완료하였다.
