  • In this paper, we present the results of the design and fabrication of the VCO(Voltage controlled Oscillator) using RF circuit simulator GENESYS and electromagnetic field simulator EMpower Frequency range is fabricated VCO is 850 MHz ~ 950 MHz, which is used Colpitts Circuit. the fabricated VCO is consisted of resonator, oscillator and MSL(Microstrip Line) is used in LC tuning circuit.(operated by negative feedback) MSL(Microstrip Line), Varactor(Plastic package), low noise TR(SOT-23), chip inductor(1608), chip capacitor(1005), chip resistance(1005). 1005 type is used for sample fabrication of VCO. In the fabrication process, circuit pattern is screen printed on the alumina substrates of over 99.9% purity. Center frequency of the sample VCO is 850MHz at $V_T$=1.5V, while the simulated value was 1.0GHz at $V_T$=1.5V. Variable frequency range of the sample is 860~950MHz in contrast to the 1068~1100MHz of the simulated values.

  • This study is to dvelop a radiotelemetry system to transmit and receive ECG (electrocardiograph) and event signals by using the frequency division multiplexing(FDM) technique. ECG signal sensed by the electrodes is amplified and added to the event signals acting in different frequency range for lead-off, nurse call and low level battery by using FDM. The sub-carrier oscillator using Colpitts circuits and main carrier frequency which is multiplied is frequency modulated by this superhetrodyne technique, and demodulated from the compose IF signal through the quadrature demodulator. A pulse counter demodulator and filtering circuits extract the original ECG and event signals.

  • Chaotic oscillators can generate wide-band signals and the spectrum characteristics of the wide-band signals are not changed by switching on and off the output power of the oscillators. When communication systems use a chaotic oscillator, the communication system need not a local oscillator and a mixer used in conventional transceivers. Therefore the configuration of a communication system using a chaotic oscillator is simple and have the characteristics of low-power consumption. In this paper we design and implement a chaotic oscillator. And the test results of the implemented chaotic oscillator for UWB systems are presented. The implemented chaotic oscillator has -8.11dBm of the output power with 500MHz channel bandwidth at 3.4GHz of the center frequency and has about 410MHz of -10dB bandwidth.

  • This study presents a hybrid balanced voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) circuit which is suitable for low phase noise operation at sub-1V supply voltages. Half circuits of the proposed VCO use the varactor-integrated feedback capacitors in their respective circuit. The varactor-integrated feedback capacitors further increase the negative resistance of the equivalent tank thereby ensuring stable start-up of oscillation even at the sub-1V supply voltage. In addition, this work theoretically analyses the phenomenon of the increase of the negative resistance. Simulation results using a $0.18{\mu}m$ RF CMOS technology exhibit the phase noises of -122.4 to -125.5.8 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset from oscillation frequency of 4.87 GHz over the supply voltages of 0.6 through 0.9 V.
