금속의 두께가 도재의 파절강도에 미치는 영향 (A study on the difference of Ceramic fracture strength according to the metal depth)

  • In the manufacture of ceramo-metal crown, difference of fracture strength according to the metal depth has been known to be an important influence on enough intensity and internal stress to endure an occlusion-pressure as well as aesthetics of rehabilitating similar colour such as natural teeth. Depth of ceramic material could be determined by that of metal in three groups: first case of thin depth, second case of thick depth, and third case of constant depth. For the enhancement of the fracture strength between metal and ceramic materials and aesthetic satisfaction, a study on the bonding force, fracture strength, and aesthetics have been required more. In this study, therefore metal coping were made in three groups of A, B and C by using both ceramic powder of Norithe and metal of Columbium, which have been used primarily in the market. A group was made in $0.2mm\times10mm\times10mm$, B group was made in $0.4mm\times10mm\times10mm$, and, C group was made in $0.8mm\times10mm\times10mm$, respectively. The number of metal coping in each group was 10, and total sample numbers used in this study were 30 metal copings. After these metal coping tissue were in the process of build-up in 1.5mm constant depth of porcelain, firing, and glazing, the fracture strength about each metal coping tissue was investigated using oil press. It was found that the average values of durable occlusion pressure for separation of ceramic material in the porcelain fused to metal crown (PFM) in the each group showed the increasing order of A group (30 bar), B group (42 bar), and C group (44 bar), respectively. Proper depth of metal coping in the PFM was considered to be 0.4mm in the B group because this metal size showed higher durable property to the occlusion pressure and better coupling strength in the ceramo-metal crown.

The Breed and Sex Effect on the Carcass Size Performance and Meat Quality of Yak in Different Muscles

  • The carcass size performances and the meat quality of Gannan and Sibu yak were determined using M. supraspinatus (SU), M. longissimus thoracis (LT) and M.quadriceps femoris (QF). It is found that Sibu yak had significantly higher carcass weight (CW) than Gannan yak with difference of nearly 40 kg, as well as significantly higher eye muscle area (EMA), carcass thorax depth (CTD), round perimeter (RP), etc. The carcass performances of steer yak were significantly higher than heifer yak except meat thickness at round (MTR) (p<0.05). The results show that both yak breed and gender had significant effects on carcass performances. It could be seen that the variation of carcass size performances from breeds is as large as from gender (50.22% and 46.25% of total variation, respectively) through principal component analysis (PCA). Sibu yak had significantly higher L*, b*, WBSF, cooking loss and Fat content, while Gannan yak had significantly higher a*, press loss, protein content and moisture (p<0.05). Yak gender and muscle had insignificant effects on meat colour and water holding capacity (p>0.05). The variation of meat quality of yak from breed is up to 59.46% of total variation according to PCA. It is shown that the difference between breeds, for Gannan yak and Sibu yak, plays an important role in carcass size performance and meat quality.

정지궤도 해양관측위성 (GOCI) 자료를 이용한 광합성 유효광량 추정 (Estimating Photosynthetically Available Radiation from Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI) Data)

  • 이 연구에서는 세계최초 해색 위성인 GOCI로부터 일간 광합성 유효광량(Daily PAR)(GOCI PAR)를 추정하였고 이를 극궤도 위성인 MODIS에서 추정한 Daily PAR(MODIS PAR)와 비교하였다. 또 소청초기지 현장자료를 이용하여 GOCI PAR의 정확도를 검증하였다. GOCI PAR는 맑은 날과 구름이 있는 날 모두 현장자료와 비슷한 결과를 보이지만 MODIS PAR는 구름이 있는 날 값이 일정하지 않고, 자료 손실 등으로 인해 값이 추정되지 않는 해역도 존재하였다. 그러나 GOCI PAR와 현장자료 PAR 사이에 일정한 값의 차이가 나타나 소청초 기지의 맑은 날에 해당하는 PAR 값을 이용하여 GOCI PAR를 보정하였다. 보정 결과, 두꺼운 구름의 영향으로 광학적으로 포화된 날을 제외한 나머지 달에서 GOCI PAR 값이 현장자료 PAR 값과 거의 일치하는 것을 보였다. 연구결과, GOCI 자료는 낮 시간 동안 하루 8번의, 극궤도 위성에 비해 많은 자료를 이용하므로, 한반도 주변 해역에서 Daily PAR 생성 시 구름에 의한 이동과 자료의 부족에 의한 오차를 줄일 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

광릉긴나무좀의 미성숙 충태별 형태특성과 유충령기, 균낭수의 지역별 변이 (딱정벌레목, 긴나무좀과) (Morphological Characteristic of Immature stage in Platypus koryoensis (Murayama) (Coleoptera, Platypodidae) and Local Variation in the Number of Mycangia)

  • 참나무시들음병 매개충인 광릉긴나무좀 미성숙충태인 알, 유충, 번데기의 외부 형태와 유충 두폭을 활용한 령기구분, 지역 개체군 간 균낭수 변이를 조사하였다. 광릉긴나무좀의 알은 광택을 띠는 타원형이며 크기는 장경 $0.67{\pm}0.051$ mm, 단경 $0.41{\pm}0.053$ mm 이었다. 유충은 5령기를 거치며, 각 령기는 두폭의 크기 차이로 명확하게 구분되었다. 1령유충의 두폭은 $0.35{\pm}0.004$ mm, 2령유충은 $0.45{\pm}0.010$ mm, 3령유충은 $0.67{\pm}0.039$ mm, 4령유충은 $0.94{\pm}0.069$ mm, 5령유충은 $1.12{\pm}0.007$ mm 였다. 5령유충 체색은 유백색의 광택을 띠며, 큰턱이 잘 발달되었다. 번데기는 연한 황색이며, 체장은 $4.64{\pm}0.042$ mm 이었다. 개체당 균낭수는 변이가 있어 적은 개체는 5개, 많은 개체는 12개까지 관찰되었으며 83%의 개체들이 6-8개의 균낭을 가지고 있었다. 남양주지역과 홍천지역의 개체군간 개체당 균낭수 차이는 없었다.

미세여과에 의한 비 가열살균 좁쌀약주의 제조 및 저장 중 품질변화 (Non Thermal Process and Quality Changes of Foxtail Millet Yakju by Micro Filtration)

  • 좁쌀 약주의 가열살균에 따른 품질열화의 대안으로 비 가열공정 시스템인 미세 및 한외여과용 중공사막(hallow fiber membrane) 카트리지 (cartridge)의 도입을 통한 좁쌀 약주의 고품질화를 시도하였다. 비 가열살균 좁쌀 약주의 제조 및 저장 중 품질변화를 조사하기 위하여 0.65, 0.45, 0.2및 0.1 $\mu$m의 MF(micro-filtration) 카트리 지와 500 K의 UF(ultrafiltration) 카트리지 등 중공사막의 공극의 크기에 따른 제조공정상의 효용성을 시험하였다. 시험한 모든 막 카트리지에서 미생물 제거 능력은 확인되었으나 여과 속도 및 안전성 면에서 0.45 $\mu$m 막 카트리지가 적당한 것으로 조사되었다. 저장 중 모든 시료에서 환원당 및 색택 변화의 차이가 측정되었는데, 6개월 저장 결과 가열살균 약주가 비 가열 약주에 비하여 투명도(L 값)가 감소하고 황청도(b 값)는 크게 증가하여 색택이 어두워지는 현상이 관찰되었다. 저장 중 환원당의 감소는 색택이 진해지는 비효소적 갈변과 관련이 있는 것으로 추정되며, 다른 화학적 성분에 대한 변화는 가열 살균과 비 가열 간에 차이가 거의 없는 것으로 조사되었다. 관능검사 결과 카트리지의 종류에 따른 좁쌀약주의 품질에 대한 차이는 인정되지 않았으나, 가열살균과 비 가열에 대한 품질은 유의적인 차이가 있었으며 비 가열처리 공정이 더 우수한 것으로 평가되었다.

Effect of wheat bran and dried carrot pomace addition on quality characteristics of chicken sausage

  • Objective: Effect of addition of wheat bran (WB) and dried carrot pomace (DCP) on sensory, textural, colour, physico-chemical and nutritional characteristics of chicken sausage were evaluated. Methods: WB and DCP were used as a source of dietary fibre at 3%, 6%, and 9% level individually. Different quality attributes of sausages were estimated. One product from each source with very good sensory acceptability was selected to analyze dietary fibre content and shelf life under refrigerated storage. Results: Sensory acceptability of 3% fibre enriched sausage was comparable with control and a further increase in fibre level resulted in a decrease in sensory acceptability. Fibre enriched sausages were significantly harder and less cohesive than control sausage. Significant increase in gumminess and chewiness was observed at 6% level in WB treated sausages and 9% level in DCP treated sausages. Moisture content decreased significantly in all treated sausages, protein content decreased significantly in DCP-2 and DCP-3 sausages while fat content decreased in all WB and DCP-3 treated sausages in comparison to control. The fibre enriched sausage had significantly higher dietary fibre and lower cholesterol content. Cooking yield and emulsion stability increased in treated sausages and a significant difference was noticed at 6% level in both types of sausages. pH of WB treated sausages was significantly higher and DCP treated sausage significantly lower in comparison to control. Conclusion: The results of present study indicate that fibre enriched chicken sausage with moderate acceptability can be developed by incorporating WB and DCP each up to 9% level. Chicken sausage with very good acceptability, higher dietary fibre content and storability up to 15 days at refrigerated temperature can be developed by incorporating WB and DCP at 6% level each.

Carcass Traits and Meat Quality of Prestice Black-Pied Pig Breed

  • The objective of the study was to evaluate fattening performance, carcass value and meat quality in pigs of Prestice Black-Pied breed in relation to slaughter weight (SW) and gender (barrows and gilts, resp.). Pigs were divided into weight categories: SW1 (75 to 99.9 kg), SW2 (100 to 109.9 kg) and SW3 (110 to 130 kg) and all individual traits were analyzed by the general linear model procedure (SAS 9.3). Average SW of each weight group was as follows: SW1 94.2 kg, SW2 105.8 kg, and SW3 115.2 kg. Differences among average backfat thickness of 36.07 mm in SW1, 40.16 mm in SW2, and 43.21 mm in SW3 were significant (p<0.01). Lean meat content was 48.94% (SW1), 48.78% (SW2), and 48.76% (SW3). Pigs were slaughtered at average weight of 105.7 kg for barrows and 104.4 kg for gilts. Average backfat thickness for barrows was 40.90 mm and 38.72 mm for gilts (significant difference p<0.05). Lean meat content was 48.75% in barrows and 48.91% in gilts. The values of pH45, characterizing the meat of very good quality. The loin in SW3 was darker than the muscles of SW1 and SW2. Drip loss was the lowest in SW1 (1.96%), compared to the highest drip loss in SW3 (2.59%). Content of intramuscular fat was 2.68% in SW3, 2.79% in SW2, and SW1 had the lowest content 2.47%. The values of pH45, colour lightness and drip loss were similar in both genders. However barrows had higher intramuscular fat content by 0.31% than gilts (p<0.05).

감초(甘草)의 조화제약(調和諸藥) 효능에 대한 고찰 (A Study on the 'Harmonizing All Medicinals' Property of Gancao)

  • Objectives : To examine the meaning of 'harmonizing all medicinals(調和諸藥)' of Gancao's property to grasp its essence which would further lead to better understanding of formula composition where Gancao is both included and excluded. Methods : Contents on Gancao from previous texts were analyzed and integrated with basic descriptions on qi and flavor, shape and colour, origin, name, etc., to form a single Xiang(象) or image. Further discussion was developed from this point in a way to better understand the harmonizing property of Gancao. Results & Conclusions : Gancao's 'harmonizing all medicinals' property is achieved through its 'mitigate urgency' function. The meaning of 'harmonizing all medicinals' could be understood in terms of both mitigating the whole formula and mitigating each medicinal ingredient. First, Gancao's function of mitigating the whole formula is to mediate conflict that occurs from difference in property among each ingredient where each medicinal's property remains intact to perform its effects soundly. Second, to mitigate each medicinal ingredient is to balance the effects of severly biased medicinals to obtain desired effects. Both approaches are same in essence in that they mitigate urgency to achieve the original goal. Gancao's 'harmonizing all medicinals' is to arbitrate others, which sets Gancao apart from other ingredients to function at a more basal level.

Comparative analysis of transmittance for different types of commercially available zirconia and lithium disilicate materials

  • PURPOSE. Translucency and colour stability are two most important aspects for an aesthetic dental restoration. Glass ceramic restorations are popular amongst clinicians because of their superior aesthetic properties. In the last decade, zirconia has generated tremendous interest due to its favorable mechanical and biological properties. However, zirconia lacks the translucency that lithium disilicate materials possess and therefore has limitations in its use, especially in esthetically demanding situations. There has been a great thrust in research towards developing translucent zirconia materials for dental restorations. The objective of the study was to evaluate and compare the transmittance of a translucent variant of zirconia to lithium disilicate. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Two commercially available zirconia materials (conventional and high translucency) and 2 lithium disilicate materials (conventional and high translucency) with standardized dimensions were fabricated. Transmittance values were measured for all samples followed by a microstructural analysis using a finite element scanning electron microscope. One way analysis of variance combined with a Tukey-post hoc test was used to analyze the data obtained (P=.05). RESULTS. High translucency lithium disilicate showed highest transmittance of all materials studied, followed by conventional lithium disilicate, high translucency zirconia and conventional zirconia. The difference between all groups of materials was statistically significant. The transmittance of the different materials correlated to their microstructure analysis. CONCLUSION. Despite manufacturers' efforts to make zirconia significantly more translucent, the transmittance values of these materials still do not match conventional lithium disilicate. More research is required on zirconia towards making the material more translucent for its potential use as esthetic monolithic restoration.

콩나물 재배방법에 따른 생장 특성 비교 (Comparison of Growth Characteristics of Soybean Sprouts Cultivated by Three Methods)

  • 1994년도산 백태 준자리콩을 이용하여 고온 다습한 조건에서 거꾸로 뒤집은 상태(방법 1)및 정상적인 방법 (방법 2)으로 5일간 재배한 콩나물과 일반적 인 방법(방법 3)으로 9일 재배한 콩나물과의 외형적인 특징, 수율, 부패율 등을 비교하였고, 관능경가를 통하여 품질을 비교 평가하였다. 고온($23{\sim}29^{\circ}C$) 다습(RH 85-96%)한 상태에서 주기적(8회/1일)으로 정온($17^{\circ}C$)의 지하수를 살수하민서 5일 등안 거꾸로 재배한 콩나물이 정상적 방법(방법 2)으로 재배한 콩나물에 비해 개체의 무게는 떨어지나 수율, 부패율 및 수분함량에서는 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 방법 1로 재배한 콩나물의 수율($699{\pm}8.14%$)이 방법 3($771{\pm}11.8$)에 비하여 떨어지고 있으나 부패율($0.83{\pm}0.070$)에서는 차이가 없었다. 고온 다습한 상태에서 거꾸로 속성 재배한 콩나물의 품질은 색택, 향 및 종합적인 맛에서 일반적인 방법으로 장기간 재배한 콩나물(방법 3)보다 유의적으로 우수하여 생장촉진제나 살균제를 처리하지 않고서도 우수한 청정 콩나물을 재배할 수 있었다.
