  • Digital watermarking is a technical solution to the copyright problem and is a necessary technique to protect copyright of multimedia content. Recently, there are many digital watermarking methods that deal in grey scale still images. However, only a few researchers are interested in digital watermarking fro video and color images. In this paper, we focus on digital watermarking for color images. At first, in order to embed the watermark signal in color image, we converted RGB color space to YCbCr color space which is a world-wide digital component video standard. In addition, we adopted the acceptable degree of color difference in order to keep the invisibility.

Content based image retrieval using maximum color

  • This paper presents image database retrieval based on maximum color occurrenceusing Hue, Saturation and Value (HSV) color space. Our system is based on color segmentation. We dividedthe image into n number of areas based on different selected ranges of hue and value, then each area is partitioned into m number of segments based on the number of pixels it contains, after this we calculated the maximumcolor occurrence in each segment and used its HSV value. This is used as a feature vector.

  • This paper presents a fuzzy-based method for classification skin color object in a complex background under varying illumination. Parameters of fuzzy rule base are generated using a genetic algorithm(GA). The color model is used in the YCbCr color space. We propose a unique fuzzy system in order to accommodate varying background color and illumination condition. This fuzzy system approach to skin color classification is discussed along with an overview of YCbCr color space.

  • The purpose of this study is to execute evaluation experiment to know the evaluation property of lighting environment of residential space for senior people, considering visual characteristics along aging, and finally provide basic data for the lighting plan to ensure the visual amenity. Processes of this study are as follows;1) Analyzed the variation property of visual sensibility and visual ability of senior people along aging. 2) Selected 3 types of life behavior(rest, conversation and reading) after checking life behavior in residential space for senior people based on advanced study. 3) Made the Mock-up Model that Dimming is possible, actual furnace to model. 4) Executed sensitivity evaluation experiment about lighting environment. 5) Analyzed evaluation property of lighting environment of residential space for senior people. Results of this study are as follows, 1) With lens-filter, we got comfort and amenity in bulb-color lamp which has similar color temperature with red of lens filter. 2) Lighting environment tests during conversation : With lens filters, they felt comfort on bulb color in case of higher illuminance than 850lux and daylight color in 500lux. 3) Lighting environment tests at reading : With lens filter, bulb color got better score in brightness and appropriateness than daylight color.

  • An extension method of data points of Munsell color space is described. A cubic spline method is used for this extension and the charts made by the use of these points are recommended for general use in the textile industry in determining the Munsell notation (H, V, C) of a given color sample when the CIE sepcification (Y, x, y) is known. These data points are used for the analysis of the H-C plane of Munsell color space.

칼라공간과 키워드를 이용한 내용기반 화상검색 시스템 설계 및 구현 (A Design and Implementation of a Content_Based Image Retrieval System using Color Space and Keywords)

  • 일반적인 내용기반 화상 검색 기법은 검색 인덱스로서 칼라와 텍스쳐를 사용하며, 칼라기법인 칼라히스토그램과 칼라쌍 검색 기법은 공간정보와 텍스트가 부족하다. 따라서 본 논문은 칼라공간과 키워드를 결합한 내용 기반 화상 검색시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 화상검색을 위한 전처리기에서는 기존의 HSI(Hue, Saturation, Intensity) 좌표계를 사용하였고, 화상으로부터 색채 영역과 비색채영역을 검출해 내었다. 화상의 크시는 200*N 또는 N*200으로 정규화하고 256칼라로 변환시킨다. 칼라 공간으로 칼라 선택을 결정하기 위해서는 배경과 색채를 위한 2개의 칼라히스토그램을 사용한다. 공간정보는 최대 엔트로피 이산화를 사용함으로써 얻어진다. 키워드는 화상의 종류, 칼라, 모양, 위치, 크기를 선택 가능하도록 했으며, 입력되는 색채에 대해서는 한국 공업 규격의 유채색과 무채색 15가지 색으로 제한하였다. 화상검색 방법은 유사도 검색의 특징 키로 사용하였고, 화상 검색시 특정 성분의 가중치에 따른 검색을 위해 사용자는 질의어 입력시 칼라공간 ${\alpha}(%),\;키워드\;{\beta}(%)$등의 가중치를 화상 내용 특징에 따라 그 값을 조절하여 부여할 수 있는 방안을 개발하였다. 질의 화상에 대한 칼라공간, 키워드와 같은 추출된 특징중 하나의 특징으로 검색 실험한 결과는 가중치를 부여하여 실험한 결과보다 검색 효율이 낮았으며 가중치를 부여한 경우 측정된 파라메타의 평균치는 Precision(0.858), Recall(0.936), RT(1), MT(0)를 보임으로써 칼라공간, 키워드 내용기반 화상 검색 시스템들 보다 높은 검색 효율을 입증해 보였다.

  • Recently, color proofing in printing industry grow rapidly. If an order decide color from known color information in the case of color reproduction, we can reduce expenses and time. In color proofing the best important point must be closed proofed color to primary color and secondary color. Model-based approaches have the advantages of faster recharacterization and the opportunity of simulating product enhancements such as changes in ink properties and halftoning. In this paper, we transformed the dot area of CMYK to CIELAB color space using color reprodution models. Firstly, we measured spectral reflectance of primary color printed by Matchprint II and the data was used to find tone reproduction curve using regression equation, and than we applied at primary color model, such as Murray-Davies, Yule-Nilsen, and mixed color model, such as Kubelka--Munk, relaxed version of spectral Neugebauser. In such results, the Kubleka-Munk model resulted in the best spectral reconstruction accuracy followed by relaxed version of spectral Neugebauer model, color difference is 2.8401.

CIE L*a*b* 칼라 공간의 성분 영상 a*을 이용한 효과적인 여드름 검출 (Effective Acne Detection using Component Image a* of CIE L*a*b* Color Space)

  • 오늘날 현대인들은 피부 관리를 신체적 건강관리의 일환으로 인식하고 있으며, 일반적으로 얼굴에서 발견되는 피부 질환 문제는 여드름이다. 본 논문에서는 CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ 칼라 공간을 이용한 효과적인 여드름 검출 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 성분 영상$a^*$의 값이 양수일 경우에 적색이므로 피부 영상에서 적색 계통의 여드름 검출에 적합하다. 먼저 RGB 칼라 공간 기반의 피부 영상은 칼라 밸런싱을 통해 광 보상을 수행하고, CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ 칼라 공간으로 변환한다. 추출된 성분 영상 $a^*$을 정규화하고, 임계값 처리를 통해 피부 영역과 여드름 영역을 추정하였다. 실험 결과, 제안하는 방법이 기존의 밝기 정보를 이용한 방법보다 효과적으로 여드름을 검출하였고, 반사되는 광원에 강인함을 보였다.

한국 오프셋 인쇄산업에 적합한 CMS 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Color Proofing CMS Development for the KOREA Offset Printing Industry)

  • The CMS(color management system) software was to enable consistent color reproduction from original to reproduction. The CMS was to create RGB monitor and printer characterization profiles and then use the profiles for device independent color transformation. The implemented CMM(color management module) used the CIELAB color space for the profile connection. Various monitor characterization model was evaluated for proper color transformation. To construct output device profile, SLI(sequential linear interpolation) method was used for the color conversion from CMYK device color to device independent CIELAB color space and tetrahedral interpolation method was used for backward transformation. UCR(under color removal) based black generation algorithm was used to construct CIELAB to CMYK LUT(lookup table). When transforming the CIE Lab colour space to CMYK, it was possible to involve the gray revision method regularized in the brightness into colour transformation process and optimize the colour transformation by black generation method based on UCR technique. For soft copy colour proofing, evaluating several monitor specialism methods showed that LUT algorithm was useful. And it was possible to simplify colour gamut mapping by constructing both the look-up table and the colour gamut mapping algorithm to a reference table.
