Due to development of Internet network environments and data compression techniques, the size and amount of multimedia data has greatly increased. They are compressed before transmission or storage. Dealing with these compressed data such as video retrieval or indexing requires the decoding procedure most of the time. In video retrieval and indexing a color histogram is one of the most frequently used tools. We propose a novel scheme for extracting color histograms from images transformed into the compressed domain using $8{times}8$ DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform). In this scheme an averaged version of original image is obtained by filtering DCT coefficients with a filter we destined.

A new driving scheme is proposed to improve the color purity by reducing the neon (Ne) emission of 585 nm in an ac PDP. Applying the new driving scheme to the address electrodes during a sustain-period induces a new discharge mode that can reduce the Ne emission remarkably. For this new discharge mode, the change in the Ne emission intensity including the discharge characteristics is measured and the corresponding mechanism is also analyzed. As a result, it is found that a color gamut area is expanded by approximately 9.2 % in comparison with a conventional case.

It is a challenge for visually impaired people to access unfamiliar environments independently, hence the quality of life is reduced, and safety of life is compromised. An accurate and reliable door detection system comprising of way finding and indoor navigation can be beneficial for a large number of autonomous and mobile applications for visually impaired people. This paper illustrates an image-based door detection scheme for visually impaired people using stable features (edges and corners) including color averaging and image resizing. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme shows a significant improvement when compared with existing scheme.

본 논문은 Diffserv 방식에서 플로별 관리없이 Assured Service의 End-to-End 005를 향상시키기 위해 DiffServ 도메인의 입구라우터에서 플로별 관리를 수행하지 않는 Aggregate Three Color Marker를 제안하였다. 제안하는 Aggregate Three Color Marker는 Diffserv 방식에서 개별 플로에 대한 관리 없이 Assured Service의 QoS를 보장하기 위해 Adaptive RIO-DC 버퍼 관리 방식과 함께 사용된다. 제안하는 Aggregate Three Color Marker는 Assured Service에 대한 접속제어가 수행된 상황에서 입구라우터를 경유하는 개별 플로들이 전송하는 In-profile 트래픽 전송률들의 총합 만큼의 Token rate로서 입구 라우터로 유입되는 전체 In-profile 트래픽의 양을 측정하고, 허용된 In-profile 트래픽의 Aggregate Trafile profile 범위에 속하는 손실된 Token 양만큼 경유하는 Out-of-profile 패킷들을 Yellow 패킷들로 표기한다. 그리고 DiffServ 내부라우터에서는 In-profile 패킷과 Yellow 패킷을 동일하게 처리하며, 플로간의 공평성을 유지하기 위해 이전 도메인에서 입구라우터로 유입되는 Yellow 패킷은 Out-of-profile 패킷으로 환원된다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 제안하는 Aggregate Three Color Maker를 Adaptive RIO-DC와 함께 적용하여 다중 DiffServ 도메인 환경에서 플로별 관리없이 Assured Service에 대한 End-to-End QoS를 보장할 수 있음을 보인다.

This study examined the effect of the main color of apartment building as background color on the preference for residential streetscape in the relation with surrounding environment of streetscape with its focus on the color of apartment building outer wall. To research a visual evaluation structure, this study aimed to understand its characteristics through quantitative assay and to provide more scientific and specific data about improvement direction. The results suggested that the current brightness and chroma of main color of apartment building was high and low respectively which was advisable. On the other hand, in the color, when the components of the whole streetscape included buildings or soundproofing walls, a streetscape image needed to be improved though the color scheme of 4-distance color difference.

Median Dark Channel Prior를 이용하여 안개를 제거하는 방법은 비교적 빠르고 정확한 전달량 맵을 만들어 안개를 제거한다. 그러나 기존의 안개 제거 알고리즘은 RGB 색 공간에서 수행되기 때문에 색상의 왜곡 오류가 생긴다. 본 논문에서는 HSI 색 공간에서 안개 영상의 색상의 정확도를 측정하여 색상의 왜곡을 보정하는 방법을 제안한다. 실험을 통해 제안된 방법은 기존 방법으로 안개 제거 시 색상이 왜곡 되는 현상을 현저히 감소시켰다.

The purpose of the study was to determine if an abstract color palette was representative of a color scheme of interior environment by which the meaning of colcor could be determined. An abstract color palette was developed by the researchers to show contrast, overlapping, and adjacencies as they might actually appear in an interior environment. Six pictures and six color palettes were used to test the meaning of color. The questionnaire consisted of 21 words to describe the color of interior environment. The sample consisted of 73 undergraduate students of varied majors. A factor analysis was used to identify the structure of color meaning. Five factors; emotional factor, factor of unity, spatial quality factor, factor of complexity, and social evaluation factor were identified. A t-test was used to analyze the difference in responses to the descriptor words for the pictures and palettes. It was found that in 14 of 21 descriptor, there was no significant difference between evaluation of color meaning for the pictures and palettes in 50% or more of the cases.

The purpose of this study is to find out the color preference on rural rooftop color. Today, public profit value of a rural community has been heavily recognized in the areas of preservation of pro-environmental and traditional life styles and foundation of collective community. Comparatively with urban, rural town conserves the scenic of those days when the historic landscape existed. Therefore, elements of historic and tradition in rural town are interesting resources to people who want traditional experience. Color is one of the most influenced elements for the image of Landscape. On the other hand, radical modernization has brought conflicting color element that does not blend with existing environmental color. Among others, roof represents one of the important traits of rapidly developing rural community due to vast amount of space it covers. In order to come up with more appropriate coloring scheme, it is necessary determine color that forms a balance with present conditions of rural life and historic landscape. This study provides more objective rooftop coloring selection process by employing additional surveys regarding color image adjective. I justified necessity of the balance between environmental color and roof color through analyzing correlation between environmental color of the rural town and Color Image Scale of the preliminary selection of roofs.

This study attempts to research and analyze the khaki color, which is regarded to be the most difficult to be conveyed in general. In so doing, this study aims to contribute to better understanding of the khaki color. First of all, I research definitions of the khaki, which originates from the color of "dirt", and set a boundary of this color. Second, I examine the pigments from plants that produce the color of khaki. In addition, based on the survey results and the color scheme dictionary, I analyze the characteristics of the khaki, from the cognitive perspective, and its attributes as a neutral color.

Nowaday, financial institutions provide secure mobile keyboard solutions to keep their mobile banking services safe. However, these are still vulnerable to attacks, such as shoulder surfing attack. Especially, in the case of handicapped person such as visual impairment and blindness, they are more vulnerable than ordinary person because of inconvenience of secure information input. Among them, we focused on the color blind. For the color blind, 4-color based secure keyboard method causes more inconvenience to notify exact color. Thus, we propose a secure mobile keyboard solution to provide advanced functionality for the color blind users. Our method is based on 4-color theorem to support color blind users. In addition, our scheme is robust against shoulder surfing attack. According to the evaluation result, our method offers increased security against shoulder surfing attack compare with existing methods.
