This study reviewed how colleges can nurture creative media-major students by innovative curriculum of interdisciplinary project class for contents production, and also the consequent merits, faults and forcoming additional subject which should be studied more.
The purpose of this research is to provide basic data for the demanding outlook and the Nursing education by grasping the present educational conditions of nursing in oriental medicine. The results of survey and study on 112 nationwide schools (47 Department of nursing and 65 Nursing junior colleges) and data of the Korean Oriental Medicine Association and General Assembly in Sep. 1998 are as follows. 1. The number of nurse Oriental Medicine hospitals require in 2002 will have increased at least 700 or more. Public health centers' and other centers' requirements will increase more and more. 2. Education of nursing in oriental medicine is offered at practice in 14 universities (29.8%) among 47 Universities and 35 colleges (53.8%) among 65 colleges. 3. Nursing education in Oriental Medicine is mostly offered in the first term of the second year at universities with 5 to 10 points, and the second term of the third year at colleges with 2 points. According to this result, we would like to suggest as follows; A nurse whose main interesting subject is human beings will be an important figure as a medical information administrator in 21 century, namely, a nurse will play the leading part in the hospital administration more than a doctor. We must take much more interest arid exert ourselves in developing education of nursing in oriental medicine because in the future it will be the one and only field in the world, so we can export our Nursing manpower.
Background: Oral cancer presents with high mortality rates, and the likelihood of survival is remarkably superior when detected early. Health care providers, particularly dentists, play a critical role in early detection of oral cancers and should be knowledgeable and skillful in oral cancer diagnosis. Purpose: The aim of the present study was to assess the current knowledge of future Yemeni dentists and their opinions on oral cancer. Materials and Methods: A pretested self-administered questionnaire was distributed to fourth and fifth year dental students. Questions relating to knowledge of oral cancer, risk factors, and opinions on oral cancer prevention and practices were posed. Results: The response rate was 80%. The vast majority of students identified smoking and smokeless tobacco as the major risk factors for oral cancer. Most of the students (92.6%) knew that squamous cell carcinoma is the most common form of oral cancer, and 85.3% were aware that tongue and floor of the mouth are the most likely sites. While the majority showed willingness to advise their patients on risk factors, only 40% felt adequately trained to provide such advice. More than 85% of students admitted that they need further information regarding oral cancer. As expected, students of the final year appeared slightly more knowledgeable regarding risk factors and clinical features of the disease. Conclusions: The findings of the present study suggest that here is a need to reinforce the undergraduate dental curriculum with regards to oral cancer education, particularly in its prevention and early detection.

In this research, we analyzed the foundation infrastructure of college and the entrepreneurial abilities, attitudes and entrepreneurial intention of students. This aim is to provide differentiated entrepreneurial education methodology of colleges different from general universities. First, in order to grasp the entrepreneurial infrastructure of the college, we conducted an interview with the person in charge and evaluated it based on the criteria presented at the Foundation Promotion Agency. Secondly, we conducted a questionnaire survey for students of colleges and analyzed entrepreneurial ability, entrepreneurial attitudes, and entrepreneurial intentions. As a result, the following suggestions were derived. As colleges have a shorter period than general universities, it is impossible to prepare the same infrastructure with 4 year universities, so differentiated infrastructure standards should be presented. It is lower than the competence and attitude of the student's foundation. Therefore, in the course of education, we must seek methods that can increase the degree of establishment through comparative processes such as educational curriculum and founding circle, which are practical and not theoretical contents.
Objectives: This study was aimed to present a summary and analysis of a survey on the educational status of basic Korean medicine and basic medical science in colleges of Korean medicine nationwide. Methods: The data on the curriculum and weekly education plans were acquired in the first half of 2020. Data showing the educational status and contents of basic Korean medicine and basic medical science were extracted. Results: Most of the colleges were providing a subject-based education. All subjects of basic Korean medicine were included in the required courses for majors, and most of them appeared to have developed and been using common main textbooks and standardized educational contents. However, there were some subjects in which the education period was dispersed until the 3rd and 4th grades, or in which discussions to develop and use common textbooks and standardized educational content were required. Most of the subjects of basic medical science were also educated as required courses for majors, but there were some subjects with a low curriculum establishment rate, and these could be considered as areas to be reinforced first when reorganizing the curriculum. Conclusions: It is expected that the findings of this study would be a basis for exploring the ways to concrete changes that are desirable and also realistically feasible when reorganizing the curriculum of colleges of Korean medicine in the near future.
We examine the awareness of the facility managers in Korean universities and colleges over the global climate change and over the national greenhouse gas (GHG) energy target management program via a questionnaire survey. The result shows that the survey participants maintain high awareness on global and national issues including the climate change and the concept of the national GHG management framework. On the other hand, the responsibility of universities and colleges associated to these issues is not recognized as well, showing the necessity for further education. Additionally, important implications on the direction and the major factors that should be considered during the development of a GHG management program for universities and colleges are deduced from the result of the survey. In order to be effective in universities and colleges, a GHG management program must be able to estimate the present level of emissions accurately, to address campus-specific emissions characteristics, and to facilitate ease use for generic users. At the same time, active supporting services including education and promotion should be incorporated. The survey result can be utilized as basic data in guiding the future development of effective GHG management programs.
Recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2 ), a member of the TGF-${\beta}$ family, has been used widely in recent years to regenerate defects of the maxillary and mandible bones. Such defects are sometimes caused by resection of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) yet the biologic effects of rhBMP-2 on these carcinomas are not fully clear. The objective of this study was to determine histologically whether rhBMP-2 produces adverse effects on angiogenesis during induction of OSCC, a biologic process critical for tumor formation in an experimental model in the buccal pouch of golden Syrian hamsters. Buccal cavities were exposed to painting with 0.5% DMBA in liquid paraffin three times a week for 14 weeks, then biopsies were taken. Division was into 2 groups: a study group of 10 hamsters receiving $0.25{\mu}g/ml$ of rhBMP-2 in the $3^{rd}$ and $6^{th}$ weeks; and a control group of 10 hamsters which did not receive any additional treatment. VEGF expression and microvessel density were measured but no differences were noted between the two groups. According to this study, rh-BMP-2 does not stimulate angiogenesis during induction of OCSSs.
The purpose of this study was to survey the use of a evaluation tools of clinical competency for nursing students. The sample consisted of the departments of nursing in 14 universities and 20 Junior colleges of nursing. Data analysis was done by frequency, percentages and factor analysis. The results of the study were as follows : 1. A common measurement tools for evaluation in the clinical area was used by 74.4% of universities and Junior colleges of nursing. Only 0-4.5% of Junior colleges of nursing and 1.5-7.4% of universities used a evaluation tools developed according to their major. 2. Theoretically, 3% of those sampled applied the nursing process as an instrumental means of nursing practice. Bloom's theory was applied by 35.8% of the schools. Most of them used their own measurement tools for evaluating their students. 3. One half of them used quantitative scales, the other half used others. 4. Professional attitudes wire included in their contents bvy 93.9% of universties and 94.1% of Junior colleges of nursing. The major areas of evaluation were knowledge, skills, attitudes and interpersonal relationships in that order. Results ; From this study can be concluded that regardless of the number of academic years of nursing and professional area, common standard evaluation tools for nursing competency were found to be needed. Theoretically, an evaluation scheme which applies the nursing process should be required. Knowledge, skill, attitude and interpersonal relationship would be essential elements to be evaluated. Maximizing the clinical competency and minimizing the conflict elements for nursing students is important. Nursing, education, students and environmental aspects must be consider in the goal of clinical education. A diagram, a checklist and a anecdote note in addition to the quantitative scale are necessary for efficient evaluation.
The current status of the curricula of departments related to Clothing & Textiles was checked. The names of colleges and departments affiliated with Clothing & Textiles were also examined. Data on introduction of curricula and subjects disclosed on the website of 60 universities were collected, and the total number of subjects collected was 2,306. As a result, the following conclusions were reached: First, departments related to Clothing & Textiles were the most frequently affiliated with the art/design schools. Depending on the name of the department, the colleges they belong to were different. It was found to be related to the name of the department and the name of the college. Second, According to a survey of the percentage of each major area in the curriculum, the portion of the fashion design area was the highest. The results of checking the composition ratio of the major areas according to the department name showed that there were differences in the curriculum according to the department name. Third, we looked for unusual subjects that were not found in other universities, which could be largely summarized into three: those for characterization, those for preparing for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and those related to the current situation in the department of Clothing & Textiles. Fourth, we examined subjects related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and found that words such as 'sustainable', 'convergence', 'smart', 'knowledge property' and 'computer' were in common. However, the number of subjects was extremely low.
It is proposed to raise the debate on Engineering and Technical Education at the global economic level and to examine some of the issues facing developing and poorer countries in managing and improving the quality of engineering education in their countries, especially in the context of internet and IT culture After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the world is now divided in two realigned blocks: one of developed(rich or advanced) countries which have a social security safety net for their population and another of developing(or poor) countries which have no such luxuries for their population. For the general public in the developing countries, any engineering or technical degree/diploma is a passport to lifelong wellbeing of an individual and his/her extended family. Therefore, the demand for such qualifications is very high and it is almost a rat race amongst school leavers to get into engineering/technical colleges. In view of this booming demand, there are hundreds of privately funded engineering/technical colleges in countries like Philippines, India, Thailand, etc., besides state funded ones. It is extremely difficult to ensure good quality in this mushrooming scenario. There are also many very small poorly resourced developing countries where there is only one engineering school and/or two-three technical colleges. Products of these schools/colleges work only in their own country and education globalization have little or no meaning for them. Besides highlighting the aforementioned general issues, the Paper also presents a few case studies on problems of accreditation and quality assessment in larger developing countries like India and the Philippines. The Paper also discusses the effects of commercialization on the quality of education and social impacts of IT revolution on educational processes.
