  • In this study, it is explored whether positive and negative emotions affected hedonic and utilitarian values experienced while shopping apparel in the Internet. In addition, the effect of hedonic and utilitarian shopping values on store approach behaviors was explored. For this study, Babin and Attaway's research model that was used for off-line shopping malls was adopted to investigate the relationships among research variables. Data obtained through experiments with 278 female college students were submitted for an analysis. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling with AMOS 6.0 were used to analyze data. Based on the model test, negative emotions negatively affected hedonic and utilitarian shopping value perception while positive emotions positively affected hedonic and utilitarian shopping value perception for the Internet apparel shopping site. Hedonic and utilitarian shopping values positively influenced attitude toward the Internet shopping site while only utilitarian shopping value affected revisiting Internet apparel shopping site. • This study applied self-determination theory to investigate the relationships between volunteers' perception of supervisors' autonomy support, volunteering motivation, and persistence intentions among collegiate students. Collegiate volunteers(n=515) involved in volunteer activities completed measures of supervisors' autonomy support, 5 forms regulation, and persistence intentions. Bivariate correlations indicated that volunteer motivation demonstrated an ordered pattern of relationships, such that adjunct points along the regulatory continuum would be more positively associated with on another than distal points. Analyses using structural equation modeling revealed that supervisors' autonomy support was positively related to more autonomous motivation(intrinsic motivation and identified regulation), while was natively associated with amotivation. Amotivation was negatively related with persistence intentions, and more autonomous motivations(intrinsic and identified) predicted grater intentions to continue with volunteer activity for next 6 months. The findings are discussed in light of the self-determination theory.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide fundamental data for the development of new course on 3D printing in the fashion design department. In order to investigate the perception of and educational needs in 3D printing, the data were collected from 266 students (female 68.8%, male 31.2%) majoring in fashion design aged 18-25 living in the capital area. The results of this survey showed that when investigating perceptions of 3D printing, it was found that 68.8% of answerers had indeed heard of 3D printing. Regarding the path they came to know about 3D printing, mass media such TV was the most frequent answer (54.6%). On the other hand, to the question asking about their intention to take the subject if given, approximately 71% said "Yes". Also, if a modeling class were given, the division that they wanted to explore most in the fashion industry was fashion jewelry. Finally, to the question asking interest in starting a business, 71.1% answered that they had interest. Out of those that answered that they had interest, when questioned about in which field they wanted to start a business, the most frequent answer was fashion online shopping mall. Finally, NCS-based 3D printing courses were suggested in the Fashion Design area. As 3D printing techniques are actively applied to the fashion industry overseas, creative education is needed through the integration of fashion and 3D printing technology by introducing 3D printing related programs in colleges.

  • With the recent advance of IT technology and the change of education paradigm, vocational training has been also evolved. In the background of mobilization of learning, increase of bite-size contents, and the agility of just-in-time learning, this study surveyed the online learners' motivation, perceptions, and learning behaviour. Total 4,021 learners from 6 distance learning institutions revealed that learners take the e-learning courses due to more for their self-development than the company's supports and policy. Also, they perceived the subject matter in contents are the most important. The results from this study suggest that the development of contents should focus on the subject matter that can be utilized for their jobs immediately. Lastly, the study confirms that learning space and time has been changed in the flexible way to use their spare time between work and life. Irregularity of learning and hasty preparations were one of major characteristics in the aspect of learning behaviour.

  • Although dental hygienists have performed chair-side assisting and other dental cares as well as preventive dental cares in Korea, medical technician law confines duties of dental hygienists as closed narrative. The aim of this study was to investigate difference in perception of duties of dental hygienists in dental clinic between dentists and dental hygiene students. A total of 245 copies of questionnaires were distributed to dentists and students by post-mail. Only 42 dentists and 30 students in an area replied these questionnaires about the present and future duties of dental hygienists after providing written consent. Both groups agreed that intra and extra oral X-ray taking, education about oral health behavior, instruction after dental treatment, chair-side assisting, consulting for patients, scaling, initial impression taking, management of dental materials and equipment, sterilization of equipment, and receiving dental bills are duties of dental hygienists. However, they had different perceptions about various dental treatments as duties of dental hygienists even if they were under instructions of a dentist, including infiltration anesthesia, filling in cavity, intramuscular injection, FC change, canal irrigation, orthodontic treatment including separating, ligature bracket bonding and removing, setting crown and bridge, making individual, removing implant screw, and so on. These findings demonstrated that there were different perceptions about duties of dental hygienists between dentists and dental hygiene students, especially on dental treatment.

  • This study was performed to provide preliminary data for the development of a useful instrument to measure the effect of sex education. The study was conducted with the voluntary participation of 155 college students enrolled in the course "Sexuality and Relationship" at Y university in Seoul. At the end of that course, they were asked to write freely about the change they had experienced on sexuality. All meaningful statements were elicited and classified into 7 categories; "Change of Knowledge", "Enlightenment", "Change of Attitude on Sexuality", "Buildup of Ability", "Buildup of. Identity", "Change of Emotion", "Change of Behavior:' There were significant changes in the areas of knowledge(28. 6%), enlightenment(27.4%), and attitudes(20.3%) about sexuality among these 7 categories. The Change of Knowledge category consists of 3 areas: "concretion of knowledge", "increase of information", and "correction of misunderstanding." In the category of Enlightenment, total 12 areas are included: "sex role", "erception of lack of knowledge", "importance of family", "life plan", "parent role", "value of life", "equality", "sexual autonomy", "importance of sexuality", "freedom of sexuality", "perception of sexual problem", and "meaning of love." The Attitude Change category consists of 8 areas. These are "being natural", "being progressive", "being sensitive", "being truthful", "being expressive", "being cautious", "being responsible", and "being confident". The category of Buildup of Ability includes 4 areas: "problem solving", "sex education", "relationship", and "communication". The category of Buildup of Identity includes "sexual identity", and "value of sexuality". The Emotional Change category includes 3 areas: "positive feeling", "negative feeling", and "breaking from negative feeling on sexuality". The Behavior Change category includes "sex-related behavioral change". In conclusion, up to now most researches on sex education effect measures only changes of knowledge, attitude, and behavior. But we believe the changes in "Enlightenment", "Buildup of Ability", "Buildup of Identity", "Change of Emotion", should be included in addition to knowledge, attitude, and behavior in the development of an instrument to measure the sex education effects. And the effect of sex education should measure the degree of learning of autonomy, enlightenment, and ability of behavior and so on rather than studying the simple changes in sexuality.enment", "Buildup of Ability", "Buildup of Identity", "Change of Emotion", should be included in addition to knowledge, attitude, and behavior in the development of an instrument to measure the sex education effects.
