  • The combination of physical activities and individual skills in sports creates an entertaining and competitive environment governed by a set of rules. In today's world, sports attract significant attention and are approached differently by various groups. Inevitably, injuries occur in sports, significantly impacting an athlete's performance and ability to participate in exercises and competitions. Addressing this issue, one of the crucial measures involves restoring the athlete's ability to engage in sports and compete. Sports rehabilitation serves as a treatment to mitigate the effects of injuries, and when combined with surgery, it can expedite the recovery process. Therefore, the primary objective of this study is to utilize a biocompatible technology for synthesizing zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles in sports rehabilitation, ensuring minimal harm to the environment.

  • There is always a risk of injury in sports. With the recent development of the economy, there have been more opportunities to be exposed to risks, and safety issues to prevent accidents have emerged as a central task. However, intensive research on trauma is lacking in the oral & maxillofacial area associated with sports. It has only been partially introduced, with a comprehensive survey of whole-body trauma or mixed with various trauma in the oral & maxillofacial area. In this paper, the overall content of trauma in the oral & maxillofacial area caused by sports activities will be reviewed for clinicians.

  • With the introduction of working 5 days a week, people who are participating in sports activity has been increased so rapidly, therefore sports related injuries also has continued to grow. Among winter sports, snowboard has been gaining popularity among adolescents and young adults. But, snowboard related injuries, especially spinal injuries, has been rarely documented. We report a case of lumbar compression fracture following snowboard injury.

  • Wearing the right sportswear is one of the essential points in exercising, which is mainly neglected. Sportswear should be suitable for the ambient temperature and not cause more heat or cold in the athlete's body. On the other hand, increased sweating and blood circulation during exercise should not cause fatigue or heatstroke in the athlete. Nanotechnology has grown significantly in the field of producing more efficient equipment in the field of sports. The increase in demand in sports for complete sports equipment has revealed the necessity of using the highest quality materials in this sector. In the world of championship sports, a minor change in equipment can lead to significant changes in causing failure and victory. Since the sole is the most critical part of sports shoes, with the introduction of nanotechnology and nanocomposites, it is possible to help athletes rush and increase their sense of calm and satisfaction. Using nanocomposites in the soles of shoes can improve some of their characteristics, prevent the smell and sweat of shoes, and induce water repellency in these shoes. In this research, titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanocomposite, along with cellulose, has been used to create antibacterial and hydrophobic properties in the soles of sports shoes. The synthesized nanocomposite has been synthesized using the least amount of chemicals, which shows this method's easy and cost-effective synthesis.

  • Thigh injuries are relatively uncommon sports injuries. But the incidence is increasing as many kinds of sports activity develops. And the prompt recognition and treatment of these injuries are critical to prevent prolonged disability. Also, despite the simple anatomic structure of the thigh, this region is finely tuned muscular mechanism with both anterior and posterior muscles crossing two joints. So the contracture of thigh muscle can result in not only decreased range of motion of the knee and hip joint, but also painful lumbar spine. So we reviewed recent literatures about the type of thigh injuries, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.

The Effects of Female College Students' Participation in Dance Sports on Body Attractiveness Recognition and Desire for Exercise

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of female college students' participation in dance sports on their perception of body attractiveness and their desire for exercise. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, female college students residing in Gwangju Metropolitan City and Jeonnam in 2022 were selected as the population, and a total of 390 students were selected as study subjects using cluster random sampling. A total of 300 participants, 170 participants in dance sports and 130 non-participants, were selected as study subjects, excluding 90 copies of double entry and insincere data. As a survey tool, the questionnaire whose reliability and validity had already been verified in previous domestic and foreign studies was modified and supplemented to suit the purpose of this study. The collected data were computerized according to the purpose of analysis using SPSS Windows 20.0 Version, a statistical program. The results obtained through this procedure are as follows. First, there were partial differences in physical evaluation according to demographic characteristics. Second, there was a partial difference in exercise desire according to demographic characteristics. Third, physical evaluation was found to partially affect exercise desire.

The Relationship between Sports Media Immersion and Sports Continuation of University Students through Social Media

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of university students' media sports immersion experience through social media on exercise immersion and exercise continuation. This research target was first selected as a population of university students who have contacted media sports aged 20 or older living in Gwangju Metropolitan City in 2019. The sampling procedure was divided into five parts: Dong-gu, Seo-gu, Nam-gu, Buk-gu, and Gwangsan-gu in Gwangju, and 300 men and women were sampled using cluster random sampling. After individually entering coded data into the computer, the statistical program (SPSS Windows.20.0 Version) was used. The results obtained through this research process are as follows. First, it was found that university students' immersion to media sports had a partial effect on their commitment to exercise. Second, it was found that university students' immersion in media sports had a partial effect on the continuation of the exercise. Third, it was found that college students' exercise commitment has a partial effect on exercise continuation.

The Study about Undergraduate Physical Therapy Student's Participation in General Sports (물리치료학과 대학생의 생활체육 참여실태에 관한 연구)

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate a study about undergraduate students' participation in general sports. Method: A questionnaire survey was conducted on 200 students attending physical therapy at Gimcheon university students. four items of general characteristics, 2 conditions of sports for all, 2 activities of current sports for all, and 1 thing of sports for all, were extracted from the questionnaires of total 40 items. Result: In the present study, it was found that through the cross-sectional analysis of various variables related to life sports activities according to grade, sex, age and living cost level, students participated in less sports activities than other college students. And they participated in non-living sports activities such as appreciation and movie appreciation. In addition, it was found that factors such as watching sports games mainly affect the lives of women, especially with less sports activities, and men are more active at 20 to 28 years of age than those aged 20. Conclusion: These findings suggest that it is necessary to provide various opportunities to encourage the physical activities of female students and young students of the university and actively participate in sports for all.

  • The education chance and job opportunity of women have increased in the 19th century. Also, women tried to get the right and chance equal to men in this period. Therefore, the population of women participating in the sports have increased. And comfortable and practical pantaloons which men have been wearing were suggested to women. This study investigated the characteristics and change of women's sports wear relating to social change in the 19th century. The results of this study were as follows: 1. According to the social change, women participated in the sports activities with the opportunity equal to men, and the appropriate women's sports wear was needed. 2. Pantaloons which were suggested as the clothing reform movement became popular with the development of sports wear. 3. Simple, effective, comfortable and easy style sports wear was preferred. 4. Women accepted men's sports wear positively. 5. The women's sports wear varied according to the various kinds of sports. 6. The healthful design was preferred and harmful design was excluded. 7. Underwear was improved functionally and simplified. 8. The main materials were flannel, wool, tweed, homespun and serge, and the mail colors were brown, dark blue, gray and black.
