공학 전공 대학생의 창의성에 나타나는 성차 (Differences of Creativity in Engineering Students by Gender)

  • Recently, it has been emphasized that more girls should be able to contribute to society in the engineering field. However, there is little research for understanding the psychological characteristics of female engineering students. We first must understand their capabilities in order to take advantage of the strengths of female engineering college students. Based on this understanding, it is necessary to provide future educational interventions for them. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the gender differences in creativity in engineering education. Additionally, we wanted to know whether the differences were domain-specific or domain-general differences. For this, we targeted 351 engineering students in Busan and Daegu. An integrated creativity test and engineering creativity test were carried out. It was found that female engineering students had lower scores on both the integrated creativity and engineering creativity tests than male students. These results suggest that we should develop and apply appropriate strategies to enhance the creativity of female students in engineering education.

'U-bo', 대학생 중고거래 및 대여 플랫폼 (A Second-hand Trading and Rental Platform for University Students, 'U-bo')

  • 최근 경제적 어려움과 물가 상승으로 인해 생활비 부담이 증가함에 따라, 생활비 절감을 위해 중고 거래를 이용하는 대학생들이 증가하고 있다. 그러나 기존 대학생을 위한 중고거래 플랫폼은 제한적이며, 대학 커뮤니티에서는 서적 중심의 거래로 중고 거래의 다양성이 부족하고 해당 서비스 이용이 번거롭다. 이러한 점을 개선하기 위해, 본 연구에서는 대학생들이 다양한 중고 물품을 저렴하게 학교에서 직거래할 수 있는 중고거래 및 대여 시스템인 "U-bo"를 개발하였다. 효율적인 거래 관리 시스템과 실시간 채팅 기능을 통해 사용자 경험을 향상시키며 맞춤형 이용이 가능하다. "U-bo"를 통해 학생들의 생활비 절약과 환경 보호에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

공과대학 여대생을 위한 여대생커리어개발센터 프로그램 개선방안 연구 (A Study on the Improvement Method of Career Development Center Program for Female Students of Engineering College)

  • 본 연구는 공과대학 여대생의 진로 및 취업 준비 현황을 조사하고 이를 지원할 수 있는 여대생커리어개발센터 프로그램의 개선안을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 10개의 4년제 대학교에서 167명의 공과대학 여대생을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 대표적 연구결과로 첫째, 목표를 설정한 여대생은 절반 이하 수준으로 나타났다. 진로효능감은 평균 수준이었으며, 전공흥미도는 다소 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 전공과 관련된 분야로 진출하기 희망하는 정도는 평균 수준을 보였다. 두 번째로 취업을 위해 가장 필요한 능력이자 부족한 능력으로는 전공활용능력을 꼽았다. 세 번째, 진로 및 취업을 위한 학교의 지원에 대해서는 만족도가 2.81로 낮은 수준으로 나타났으며, 여대생커리어개발센터 프로그램에 대해서는 면접준비 프로그램에 대한 만족도가 가장 높았다. 참여를 희망하는 프로그램에 대해서는 맞춤형 직장 체험 프로그램을 가장 희망하는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과에 따라 여대생커리어개발센터의 프로그램 개선방안을 제안하였다.

공과대학 학생들의 창의성교육에 관한 인식 (College of Engineering Students' Perception on Creativity Education)

  • There have been various educational approaches to foster students' creativity in engineering colleges, but little has been conducted based on empirical study results of students' perception on creativity education. This study aims to explore the students' perception on creativity in engineering such as characteristics of creative engineers, the level of individual or group creativity and creative education in engineering colleges. According to the survey results of 538 respondents, engineering students considered three factors such as 'innovative driven', 'eager for high intellectuality', 'activity expression' as characteristics of creative engineer. They evaluated both of individual or group creativity levels as subnormal. They perceived the importance of creativity education, but were not satisfied with current creativity educational experiences. They pointed out 'limited supports of nation or organization', 'credit system decided by the paper-based exam', 'non-systematized creativity classes' as impending factors for creativity in engineering education. Students suggested 'securing the budget for practice and field participation', 'changing of perception on creativity education itself', 'developing the creativity classes combined with engineering subjects' as fostering factors in creativity education. This studdy suggests several implications of educational approaches to creativity education in engineering colleges.

대학수학 지도를 위한 공대생의 수학에 대한 태도 조사 (The Analysis of the Attitudes of Engineering Students to Mathematics and Its Implications)

  • 대학수학 지도를 위한 구체적인 자료를 얻기 위해 충청지역 6개 대학교(A대 36명, B대 40명, C대 37명, D대 96명, E대 36명, F대 41명)의 공학 계열 학생들에 대해 18개 항목과 미분적분학 지도를 위한 선행학습 조사, 수학내용의 영역별 난이도 조사를 하고 결과에 대해 표를 만들어 간단히 언급하고 외국의 연구사례를 이용하여 우리 실정에 맞게 다음을 적용해 본다. 1) 수학 학습 능력이 부족한 학생들을 배려해야 하고, 2) 공대생을 위한 수준에 맞는 교수 방법이 요구되고, 3) 그들의 수학적 배경에 기초하여 실질적인 교수 전략이 연구되어야 하며, 4) 수학 개념의 이해를 얻게 하려고 더 많은 자료를 개발해야 되며, 5) 공대생의 전공 학습에 도움을 주기 위해 공학개념과 수학개념 사이의 관계에 더 관심을 기울여야 된다. 위의 제안 이외에도 학생들의 수학적 배경과 태도가 대학수학 학습에 충분히 고려되어야 한다.

  • This study is to explore the meaning and role of "Shared Universities" as perceived by college students. Currently, shared universities are being promoted as an important innovative strategy to overcome the decline in the college-age population and enhance the quality of education by sharing human and material resources among individual universities. This study aims to examine the meaning and value of "shared universities" as perceived by college students who actually participate in shared university programs from the perspective of the demand side. Specifically, the study seeks to explore what students feel and experience through shared university education in order to derive implications for future shared university operations.

공학커뮤니케이션 교과목 운영을 통한 의사소통 역량의 향상도 분석 (Analysis of the Improvement of Communication Skills through the Operation of Engineering Communication Courses)

  • This study was conducted with the aim of exploring ways to more effectively manage related courses by checking the educational effects of the operation of engineering liberal arts courses operated for the development of communication skills of engineering students by detailed factors of communication skills. To achieve the purpose of the study, literature review and survey methodologies were used. A survey was conducted before and after class targeting four class students of the engineering college of D University in Gyeonggi-do. As a result of comparing the results of the pre-test before class through this class and the results of the post-test conducted at the end of the class, it was confirmed that speaking ability, reading ability, and communication ability were improved at a statistically significant level. In addition, as a result of analyzing differences in communication competencies for each individual variable, it was found that there were statistically significant differences according to gender, students' major field, and grade. Based on such research results, several educational proposals were presented to increase the effectiveness of the management of courses operated to develop communication skills.

Does the nuclear engineering field perform worse in utilizing women? Evidence from South Korea

  • Despite its remarkable socioeconomic development, South Korea underperforms in terms of female labor force participation and women in leadership positions. As women appear to avoid nuclear engineering, we aim to evaluate its relative performance in attracting women to its labor force compared to other college majors. Using college-major level information from 2000, we test whether the female faculty share in nuclear engineering is lower than its counterparts. Although nuclear engineering has one of the lowest female faculty shares, its share exceeds that of agricultural science, business and economics, chemical engineering, chemistry, civil engineering, and industrial engineering once we properly control for gender composition among students and other compounding factors. In other words, once female students major in nuclear engineering, they are less likely to leave their fields compared to their counterparts in other disciplines. This result implies that if the nuclear engineering field aims to attract more women to its workforce, it is important to target them from the early stage of their careers.

Study on The Use of Teaching Area's Courtyard Space : Results from a Survey of Universities in Tai' an

  • Based on the survey of 4 universities in Tai' an by questionnaire survey and interviews, this study acquired and analyzed the college student users' activity type, utilization frequency, retention time, companion, preference for landscape design style, the importance of the courtyard space's environment and landscape, as well as correlations between primary attributes and activity characteristics of student users. The weight of the university teaching area's courtyard space evaluation index was obtained by Analytical Hierarchy Process. The results indicated that nearly 60% college students select to study and to rest alone as the main activity type, 80% students' utilization frequency is at least two times or more a week. In addition, the relative weight of plant landscape is the highest in the 2nd class indexes of space garden landscape, and its value is 0.113; the relative weight of cleanliness is the highest in the 3rd class indexes of space environment quality, and its value is 0.143. Therefore, it should be attached much importance to constructing the environment and landscape for studying and relaxing, and the factors of cleanliness and plant landscape etc in the further design of courtyard space are taken into full consideration.

치과기공(학)과 학생의 정서지능이 대인관계와 심리적 행복감에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Emotional Intelligence on Interpersonal Relationships and the Psychological Happiness of Department of Dental Laboratory Technology Students)

  • Purpose: This research conducted by using Department of Dental Laboratory Technology students investigates interpersonal and emotional intelligence impact on psychological happiness. Methods: Study was conducted in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area Department of Dental Laboratory Technology students, based on 132 people who were enrolled college students. Data analysis, frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability test, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis was carried out and SPSS/WIN 18.0 was used. Results: Interpersonal factors utilize emotions, emotional self-control and emotional awareness. Others turned positive (+) was found to affect the psychological, emotional factors utilized in euphoria, emotional adjustment and were found to have positive effects. Conclusion: Looking at the above results gathered from dental engineering students, improvement in interpersonal relationships, and psychological welfare have improve more effectively through utilizing and controlling emotions, including the ability to set their own goals for the future. Motivational training programs for strengthening study habits is more important than what can be based in dental college engineering students. In conjunction with an active lifestyle, future professional dental health services for patients and clinicians care about the improvement of his own psychological happiness was inspire by the care received from home and school and the resulting map is considered to require constant attention.
