  • Objectives: This is one of the first efforts to describe incidence of alcohol-related problems and to identify environmental correlates associated with them among colleges. Methods: Date were collected by a sample of 105 college administrators who are in charge of student affairs in colleges nationwide through self-administrated questionnaire. Both logistic and linear multiple regression analyses were employed to identify the correlates associated with alcohol-related problems. Results: Most of colleges(76.6%) under study reported to have at least one alcohol-related problem in previous years. Interpersonal violence was alcohol-related problem taken placed most frequently, followed by making noise episode, having property damaged and motor vehicle accidents. Logistic regression analysis identified factors associated with incidents of alcohol related problems. They included being private colleges, numbers of prevention activities, product promotion and marketing by alcohol industry and alcohol accessibility to drinking context. Multiple regression analyses showed that correlates associated with numbers of alcohol-related problems included being a private college, being located in rural area, having drinking density, product promotion and availability of alternative activities to drinking. Conclusions: Environmental correlates were associated with incidence of alcohol related problems in colleges nationwide. Policy implications were discussed.

  • E-mail systems using the intranet is widely exposed to internal threats should an administrator or a third party decides to misuse the information. To solve this problem, we propose a safe intranet email encryption protocol using the symmetrical-key password algorithm. Since the proposed protocol encrypts the data using a pre-agreed session keys between the users, the data will be safe from malignant access attempts provided that the session key is not exposed.

  • At this study, we are developing a possible control system through remote monitoring for fire protection in various chemical factory facilities. It's possible to do real time confirmation of a normal operation presence of the various equipment installed in a chemical factory through the internet network at a fire fighting head office, an area fire department and a chemical factory situation room using this remote monitoring control system. When occurring, abnormal operation is the remote monitoring control system, which can check this immediately and notify the situation room administrator. After it was tested using developed remote monitoring control system, the remote monitoring for which the internet network was used confirmed possible.

  • In the field of artificial intelligence education, discussions on the direction of artificial intelligence education are actively underway, and it is necessary to establish a foundation for future information education. It is necessary to design a creative convergence teaching-learning and evaluation method. Although AI experience coding education has been applied, the evaluation stage is insufficient. In this paper, we propose an evaluation system that can verify the validity of the proposed education model to find a way to supplement the existing learning module. The core components of this proposed system are Assessment-Factor, Self-Diagnosis, Item Bank, and Evaluation Result modules, which are designed to enable system access according to the roles of administrator, instructors and learners. This system enables individualized learning through online and offline connection.

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify observation and performance of nursing role activities by student nurses graduating from 3 year junior colleges or 4 year universities. Method: A descriptive design was used and the participants were 295 student nurses who were graduating. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Results: The average score for observation of nursing role activity was $2.16{\pm}0.29$, and for performance $1.61{\pm}0.29$. Among the college students, the mean item score for observation was highest for medication administrator and lowest for provider of spiritual & bereavement care, while for the university students the highest was for provider of care during surgery and lowest for provider of spiritual & bereavement care. The college students had higher scores for observation, and the university students for performance. Conclusion: It is concluded that standardized practice learning programs need to be designed in schools and in clinical practice areas, in order to further develop adaptability to nursing roles.

  • Objectives : The study was aimed to analyze the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) test-takers' favor of entering Korean Medicine college and their perception toward the Korean Medicine. The study will present information that can be used for university administrator and in medical education field. Methods : A questionnaire was developed, comprising categories about the favor of entering Korean Medicine college, the experience and reason of receiving Korean Medicine healthcare treatment, and the perception toward the Korean Medicine. Face validity and content validity of the developed questionnaire were tested before survey. Then the questionnaires were distributed to 168 CSAT test-takers. Results : The most positive reason of entering Korean Medicine college is the characteristic of job, while the negative one is of the characteristic of the discipline. Respondents who answered as positive toward Korean Medicine are more than those who answered as negative. The most positive reason of receiving Korean Medicine healthcare treatment and perceiving Korean Medicine positively is because of its medical effectiveness. The most negative reason is responded as et cetera in both categories. Conclusions : The results of the survey may indicate that by promoting recent research progresses in Korean Medicine and benefits from choosing a career as medical professions, more CSAT test-takers will have positive attitude toward Korean Medicine college entrance. Also by promoting the medical effectiveness of Korean medicine to CSAT test-takers, more CSAT test-takers will receive or have positive attitude toward Korean Medicine healthcare service.

  • Purpose: The process of designing a questionnaire is complicated. Many questionnaires on nursing phenomena have been developed and used by nursing researchers. The purpose of this paper was to discuss questionnaire design and factors that should be considered when using existing scales. Methods: Methodological issues were discussed, such as factors in the design of questions, steps in developing questionnaires, wording and formatting methods for items, and administrations methods. How to use existing scales, how to facilitate cultural adaptation, and how to prevent socially desirable responding were discussed. Moreover, the triangulation method in questionnaire development was introduced. Results: Steps were recommended for designing questions such as appropriately operationalizing key concepts for the target population, clearly formatting response options, generating items and confirming final items through face or content validity, sufficiently piloting the questionnaire using item analysis, demonstrating reliability and validity, finalizing the scale, and training the administrator. Psychometric properties and cultural equivalence should be evaluated prior to administration when using an existing questionnaire and performing cultural adaptation. Conclusion: In the context of well-defined nursing phenomena, logical and systematic methods will contribute to the development of simple and precise questionnaires.

Data was collected from January 7 to March 6, 2008 by Stanford Presenteeism Scale-13. Data was collected from 3 hospitals in Seoul Gyeonggi area. The response rate of the questionnaires was 96.2%. Incomplete data was analyzed using SPSS program. Results: Shoulder, back and neck pain were the highest reported health problems and primary health Problem of nurses. Impaired presenteeism was ranked in this order: depression or anxiety, cold, and uterus or ovary disorder. Absenteeism was ranked in this order: uterus or ovary disorder, cold, and dermatological problem. Impaired presenteeism was significantly increasing according to the number of health problems. But Absenteeism was not. Presenteeism was significantly different by age, educational level, religion, whether or not the worker lived with their family, marital status, whether or not the worker has children, time spent in the workforce, experience of turnover, shift work, night work, and level of satisfaction with salary. • Since existing Nate-on Messenger application stores users' personal information in the database of its server, it is extremely venerable to internal threats, not to mention the communication data being transmitted without any safety measures. To solve such problematic areas of the existing application, we have developed a safer messenger application. The messenger application proposed in this paper discloses only the least required personal information of its users and the rest of the personal information is safely encrypted in the database using private passwords. This protective measure prevents the administrator or a third party from misusing the information since he/she will not be able access the information. In addition, users will be able to freely and safely communicate using this new messenger since transmitted data will also be encrypted.
