대학도서관에 있어서 장서개발의 목적은 각 학문분야별로 구성된 장서의 강점과 균형은 유지하고 약점은 보완하여 장서구성의 체계성과 망라성을 유지하는 것이다. 그러나 우리나라 대학도서관들은 장서의 규모를 확충하는데 주력한 반면 그 품질을 제고하는 데에는 미처 관심을 갖지 못한 것이 사실이다. 이는 무엇보다 최적의 장서를 유지하기 위하여 필수적인 과정인 장서평가를 제대로 수행하지 못한데 기인하는데, 이러한 문제의식을 바탕으로 이 연구는 대학도서관에 소장된 특정 주제분야 장서를 중심으로 장서평가를 수행하였다. 구체적으로 표본 대학도서관의 정치학 장서를 대상으로 장서의 현황을 분석하고, 과연 장서가 학과의 학부 학생들과 대학원생의 학습 및 연구지원, 교수의 연구지원과 얼마나 밀접한 관련성을 맺으며 개발되고 있는지 분석하였다. 이를 위해 정치학 강의에서 사용된 교재 및 연구자들이 학술활동 과정에서 인용한 문헌의 리스트를 작성하고 이에 근거한 대학도서관의 장서 보유 현황을 조사함으로써 정치학 교육과 연구에 있어서 필요한 장서의 현황, 장서의 최적성 수준을 파악하고자 하였다.

본 연구의 목적은 도서관 장서개발정책 성명서를 준비하는 우리나라 도서관을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 선행연구를 토대로 선정한 10가지 항목을 사용하여 국가도서관 5곳과 공공도서관 2곳을 사례연구방법으로 조사분석하였다. 사례들의 특징과 조사항목 분석을 통해서 5가지 지침을 제안하였다.

This study is to understand the current situation of the Seoul Collection and suggest market oriented strategies in order to establish a more effective fashion market. Three elements-time, form, and, place-were defined to analyse the dynamics of the collection and two factors-customer/competitor oriented information and information interaction among participants-were employed to evaluate the Seoul collection toward market orientation. The data were collected from the collection participants via an in-depth interview. The identified major market factors were: 1. Time-In order to create a desirable market, the opening time of the Seoul Collection needs to be rescheduled in accordance with the openings of other countries. Also the time must be suitable to the buyer's movement. 2. Product-Products which did not meet the needs of the market and their unrealistically high prices were two main factors that hindered sales. 3. Place-Although the place was a vital factor to the success of the collection, the facility was not fully a suitable location for buyers to place orders. Additionally, the analyzed data indicated the low market-oriented Seoul collection. Vital to elevating the Seoul Collection to meet the global standard, therefore, more practical research and merchandise planning should be arranged in advance.

The purpose of this study is to bring out the most reasonable and feasible evaluation methods of research library collection in Korea. At the very outset, writer tried to define the purpose and the necessity of collection evaluation. Writer described a collection evaluation is to gain the data for decision making on selection policy, weeding and storage project, and explained it is one of the procedures of a collection development system operation of being explained as repeated three procedures through a collection development plan, an implimentation of the set plan(selection process) and a collection evaluation. Writer also pointed out the fact many libraries in Korea are apt to by pass or overlook this important process. Writer then defined the criteria of a collection evaluation as the measurement of the proportion of library holding's capability to meet users' demands and that of the degree of total collection's utilization. Writer introduced and analysed seven existing collection evaluation methods and concluded the method by a survey of users' needs and opinion and the method by a circulation survey are the most feasible and reasonable methods that can be applied. Writer also added that using above two evaluation methods together can enhance the effectiveness of collection evaluation.

본 연구는 인터넷이라는 새로운 정보기술을 활용하여 장서관리에 대한 정보를 제공하고 있는 미국 대학도서관 웹사이트의 현황을 살펴보고 구성요소별 내용평가를 통해 웹사이트를 분석하고, 나아가 장서관리의 목적과 특성에 맞는 사이트를 체계적으로 운영할 수 있는 장서관리 웹사이트의 컨텐츠 구성을 목적으로 한다. 컨텐츠 구성은 <장서개발정책>, <직원주소록>, <통계>, <선정도구>, <구입 희망자료 신청>, <신간안내>의 6개 영역으로 구분된다. 웹사이트의 활용을 통해 장서관리 업무의 효율화를 이룸으로써 향후 장서관리 웹사이트를 구축하고자 하는 도서관에게 보다 합리적이고 체계적으로 나아갈 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

클라우드 컴퓨팅에서 발생된 클라우드 컬렉션은 네트워크상의 또는 물리적 형태의 플랫폼을 통해 도서관간 중복된 장서를 공동 보존 활용함으로써 새로운 가치를 창출시키는 프레임�p을 의미한다. 전자책 시장 활성화와 인쇄본의 소급 디지털화 경향은 라이선스 기반의 전자책 서비스와 도서관 소장 도서의 공동 활용을 추구하는 새로운 장서 관리 패러다임을 예고하고 있다. 본 연구는 디지털 보존과 인쇄본 공동 보존이 상보적 역할을 수행할 수 있는 클라우드 컬렉션의 개념에 대해 논의하고, 한국 대학도서관의 클라우드 컬렉션 도입 방향을 전망해 본다.

본 연구는 공공성을 지닌 편익 서비스로 인식되고 있는 쓰레기 수거 서비스를 보다 효율적으로 공급하기 위해서 쓰레기 수거권역을 설정하고 설정된 권역내에서 수거차량의 순회경로계획을 분석하는데 목적을 두었다. 본 연구에서는 합리적이고 보다 과학적인 쓰레기의 수거체계를 수립하기 위해 가장 기본적인 자료가 되는 쓰레기 배출지점별 배출량을 추정하고, 쓰레기 수집구역을 구축하였다. 이를 토대로 하여 지역분할방법을 이용하여 수거권역을 설정하였고, 쓰레기를 수거하는 차량의 순회결로를 효율적으로 계획할 수 있는 경로선정 방법도 도입하였다. GIS를 기반으로 하는 수거권역의 설정은 행정동별로 이루어지고 있는 수거업무를 보다 효율적으로 수행할 수 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 경로선정방법을 도입할 경우 공차회송비용을 줄이면서 최소의 비용으로 경로계획의 수립이 가능함을 보여주었다. E따라서 쓰레기 수거서비스 체계를 구축하는데 있어서 GIS를 기반으로 하는 지역분할방법과 경로선정방법을 도입한다면 보다 신속하고 효율적으로 서비스를 제공하는데 필요한 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

본 연구의 목적은 단위 학교도서관에서 장서관리정책을 수립할 때 근거 및 기준으로 삼을 수 있는 국가 수준의 학교도서관 장서관리지침서에 포함할 구체적인 항목과 내용 요소를 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 학교도서관 장서관리 관련 문서를 국제 수준 및 국가 수준으로 나누어 분석하였다. 분석 결과 해외 장서관리지침서에서는 장서의 양적 기준 이외에 디지털 정보자원에 대한 접근성과 자원 공유를 강조하고 있으며, 이의 제기 자료에 대한 처리 절차를 규정하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 국가 수준의 학교도서관 장서관리지침서가 포함해야 할 항목을 크게 장서관리의 일반 원칙과 장서관리지침으로 구분하고 각 항목별 내용 요소를 제안하였다. 그리고 국가 수준의 장서관리지침서가 학교 현장에 효율적으로 적용할 수 있는 제도적 기반 마련 방안을 제안하였다.

This study is an attempt at developing an organizational model for collection development a n.0, pplicable to Korean university libraries at their present stage of development. An emphasis is placed on the discussion of the 'subject a n.0, pproach' as compared to 'functional a n.0, pproach' in collection development work. The case history of Pusan National University Library is extensively used. The proposed collection development model consists of the following elements : - To form a collection development team and to place under the team leader subject bibliographers as follows: Bibliographer for Serials Bibliographer for Humanities Bibliographer for Social Sciences Bibliographer for Sciences and Technologies - Collection development team could operate as a separate department or as part of other departments, i. e., Deputy Director's office, Acquisitions and Processing Department, or Resources Management Department. - Collection development team takes up the responsibility for policyrelated collection work, i. e., budget allocation, evaluation of existing collection, building core collection, preservation, weeding and cooperation. - Designated certified librarians located at the(planned) subject libraries take up the responsibility for selection. Subject bibliographers cooperate with selection librarians and coordinate their work. - Certified librarians at the Acquisitions and Processing Department are assigned subject areas. They operate as acquisitions librarian and processing librarian simultaneously with their assigned subject materials.

기록관에서 수집정책은 수집을 위한 지침서로서의 역할 뿐 아니라 기록관의 업무계획 수립과 업무절차 실행 방안을 개발하는데 기초가 된다. 또한, 수집정책은 법률이나 규정에서 모두 다룰 수 없는 구체적이고, 세부적인 내용을 수립할 수 있으므로 기록물 수집 시에 체계적이고 전략적인 접근을 가능하게 해준다. 우리나라와 동일한 대통령제 국가인 미국은 개별 대통령기록관마다 수립된 시기는 상이하지만 이미 반세기 전부터 수집정책을 수립하여 기록물 수집을 위한 근거자료로서 활용하고 있다. 이와는 반대로 국내 대통령기록관은 아직까지 수집정책을 수립하지 않고 있으며, '수집규정' 및 '수집계획'에 기반하여 수집이 이루어지고 있는 실정이다. 미국 대통령기록관의 수집정책과 국내 대통령기록관의 '수집규정' 및 '수집계획'을 비교하여 살펴보면, 미국의 경우 대통령의 특성을 반영하여 재임기간 생산하여 이관 받은 기록물 이외에도 대통령과 관련한 인물 사건 지역뿐 아니라 개인적 관심사를 반영한 개인기록물에 대해서도 적극적으로 수집하고 있으며, 그 범위 및 절차에 이르기까지 상세하게 기술하고 있다. 반면, 국내 대통령기록관의 '수집규정'과 '수집계획'은 개별 대통령에 따른 기록물의 특성을 충분히 반영하지 않은 일반적이고 모호한 수준에 그치고 있어, 일관되고 전문화되어야 할 수집 업무의 연속성을 유지하기 어려워 보인다. 이에 본 연구에서는 미국 개별 대통령기록관의 수집정책 사례분석을 통하여, 시사점을 도출하고, 국내 대통령기록관의 개별 대통령에 따른 수집정책 수립방안을 제안하는 데 그 목적을 두었다.
