The collection management paradigm has drastically changed since the emergence of collection management activities on the internet. Due to the technological development of web, web has become the newly open field as a useful tool to facilitate collection management transactions. The purpose of this study is, by evaluating web sites of the university library’s collection management in United States, to construct the contents of collection management web site. To fulfill the purpose, 6 categories for the contents of the collection management web site are suggested. The result of this study can be used as the basic data for researching of collection management web site. Web site is playing a role of stepping up its activities and informing useful information on its selection tool and collection development policy.

In Korea, more than half of medical libraries are small.sized hospital libraries operated under the single.librarian system, and it is keenly required to establish collection management policies for exchanging resources with other libraries and maintaining consistency. however, it is rare to set up their collection management policies on the web among the domestic medical libraries. Thus, this study purposed to survey cases of collection management policies in domestic and foreign medical libraries and to provide basic information and ideas for Korean medical libraries that are preparing collection management policies. As long as core requirements are satisfied, collection management policies do not have a way. Thus, this case study is expected to provide useful ideas to medical libraries developing their collection management policies. For this purpose, we selected 12 survey items based on previous studies, and investigated one domestic and five foreign medical libraries, and analyzed collected data. Based on the results of analyzing the cases, we suggested 12 guidelines.

The purpose of this study is to develop detailed items and elements to be included in a national guideline for school library collection which can be used as a basis and standard for establishing collection management policies in individual school libraries. For this purpose, materials related to the collection management of school library were analyzed with the international and national level. As a result, the international materials emphasizes accessibility and resource sharing of digital materials besides quantitative standards of the library collection and deal with the process for the objection collection. In this study, items to be included in the national guidelines are divided into general principles of collection management and collection management guidelines, and elements of the each item are suggested. And proposed systematic bases for efficient application of the national guidelines to school libraries.

This study attempted to analyze the collection management process and its requirements for public libraries. The survey was designed to examine the detailed collection management guidelines and to grasp its requirements varying across different types of public libraries. The respondents to the survey were librarians who are responsible for managing collections in public libraries which achieved excellence in the 2008 nationwide library management assessment. The study results indicated that most public libraries do not have organized collection management guidelines covering the whole collection management area. In addition, small libraries such as those in hospitals, armies, and prisons have difficulties in managing collections since they do not have proper collection management guidelines.

This study represents an attempt to forecast the increasingly complex and dynamic interplay between the transformation of media and collection management function in the networked environment. As the importance of electronic media rather than printed media is emphasized, there is a need to shift from the traditional collection management to content management for collection development strategy. In order to satisfy the needs of library users who have thirst for more various information, the traditional function of collection management has limitations. Therefore, we suggest that the future collection management must shift from the traditional collection management to content management.

The objective of this study is to analyze the problems of disposal and collection, including administrative management of agricultural PE waste and suggest effective management measurements. Information regarding problems of agricultural PE waste management were collected from field survey of farmers, regional governments and officials. On the national level, the low ratio of collection for optimal treatment of agricultural PE waste is a critical problem. , the negative discharging behavior of farmers, an illegal incineration and landfill of farmers and a lack of education and extension etc. An ambiguity of the management principle to agricultural PE waste, the differences in management among the regional governments, a lack of will of the regional governments and officials to realize SARD and lack of education and extension etc. are some of the problems in administrative management of agricultural PE waste collection. The major suggestions of this study are as follows : (1) to strengthen education and extension, (2) to adopt an improved economic incentive system and strong, lawful regulation simultaneously, (3) to use temporang collection and permanent collection site, and (4) to organize "OTC(Optimal Treatment Conference)" composed of farmers, regional cooperative, PE producers etc. for operating an effective management system.

This research was aimed at studying the situation, problems, and requirements for digital collection lifecycle management of Thai theses and dissertations. The mixed research method used was composed of: (1) Study of the problem and situation in which the qualitative method was applied. The research site covered 10 higher education institutions where the Thailand Digital Collection (TDC) project is operated. The informants were key administrative officers of the TDC project of each institution. In-depth and structured interviews were conducted on an individual basis to obtain the most accurate answers. (2) Study of requirements based on the quantitative research method to survey the requirements for the digital collection management system for Thai theses and dissertations from 84 purposively-selected TDC project officers and 527 end users selected by accidental sampling, totaling 611 samples. Research findings are as follow: (1) The study of the situation and problems of digital collection lifecycle management shows that Thai higher institutions systematically manage their digital collection. The management lifecycle is consistent with the Guidance documents for lifecycle management of ETDs, which included seven steps: program planning, creation, submission, and ingestion, access and retrieval of digital objects, archiving and preservation, evaluation and assessment, interoperation (creation of institutional collaboration), and development of link data. (2) The study of requirements for digital collection management of Thai theses and dissertations shows five system requirements: acquisition and gathering, digitization, metadata standards, management of rights, and storage and retrieval, all of which are at M (mandatory) and D (desirable) levels.

Cloud collection, which is derived from cloud computing, is a framework that creates new value through library cooperative platform to preserve and manage libraries' duplicated collection. Due to E-book market vitalization and mass digitalization of retrospective print material, new library collection management paradigm has been expected that licensed based E-book service and management of shared print repository. This study discuss cloud collection concept which digital repository and Shared print repository are in complementary relations. And suggest cloud collection model can be applicable to Korean university libraries.

Oral history has value that steps over the class consciousness and party feeling that records have, and enables a general representation of a human experience. Beside, It must be managed urgently because a collection of oral history has unique and limited. However, domestic related institution do not keep management for release and use of oral history in their mind are only concentrating on accession. Lately, National History Compilation Committee passes through faithful planning procedures and is collecting an oral history collection project. A merit of this project is to have attempted an image photographing. This study is propose that to examines over the all steps to say oral history collection activity to information service and a preservation from collection planning of organization. However, this study is insufficient in the management method how it is connected if does in order to manage the oral history which is collected with a part of a record in a archival institution because this study was only for the purpose of management of oral history. This problem will be studied through a process of checking the real thing of oral history. This study proposed general methodology for oral history management, if institution had a plan of collection and management or had some collection result.

This study reports the result of the survey on collection management from 154 school libraries in Korea. The questionnaire is consisted of three section: state of collection, state of book use, and collection management system. Results reveal that (1) elementary schools and middle schools have many books for each student compared to the KLA's School Library Standards; (2) the component ratio of literature books is the biggest in school library collections; (3) the ratio of library book use is overwhelmingly higher in elementary schools than middle schools and high schools; (4) 64.6 percent of library books in the sample are never used during 2013-2015; (5) 74 percent of libraries have its own collection management document; (6) Almost all schools compose its own committee for library management, the committee plays an important roles in the communication among school members, collection development and promotion.
