  • In a rapidly changing business environment, the improvement of managerial techniques through IT utilization brings about remarkable increases in profitability and redesign of work process for better performances. IT innovation by electronic instruments such as ICT e-business provides accelerates forming inter-organizational information network and helps them benchmark the best practices of advanced organizations. A new shift of paradigm by e-business across all enterprises has turned the traditional aspects of inter-organizational competition and relationship into a form of collaboration. Collaboration enables business activities in parallel position among companies and facilitates cooperation between partner enterprises. Lately, the concept of 'Synchronization' is emerging beyond dimension of cooperation between networks, and the most concepts related to it are converging into 'Collaboration Networks'. This research observes a virtual organization as a form of collaborative networks, and measures the degree of virtualization of Korean collaborative organizations.

  • This study attempted non-face-to-face collaborative product development practice that can respond to the spread of COVID-19 by expanding existing product data management system-based product development practice. For the complete non-face-to-face product development practice, it utilized prototype development using a 3D paper model, an online class management system and social media for classes and meetings. As a result of applying the non-face-to-face method, product developments of 26 practice teams have been completed without any failures. Therefore, through this study, the author can confirm that it is possible to provide the complete non-face-to-face collaborative product development practice based on product data management systems.

  • This paper aims to investigate modeling scripts based on the mode of group interaction in a computer-supported collaborative learning environment. Based on a literature review, this paper assumes that group interaction and its mode would have strong influence on the online collaborative learning process, and furthermore lead learners to create and share significant knowledge within a group. This paper deals with two different modes of group interaction- distributed and shared interaction. Distributed interaction depends on the external representation of individual knowledge, while shared interaction is concerned with sharing knowledge in group action. In order to facilitate these group interactions, this paper emphasizes the utilization of appropriate CSCL scripts, and then proposes the conceptual framework of CSCL scripts which integrate the existing scripts such as implicit, explicit, internal and external scripts. By means of the model regarding CSCL scripts based on the mode of group interaction, the implications for research on the design of CSCL scripts are explored.

  • The importance of data curation is increasingly recognized as the need of data reuse drastically grows. Due to recent data explosion, scientists invest almost 90% of their efforts in the retrieval and collection of data needed to their study. In this paper, we deal with the development and application of a collaborative environment for community-driven data curation which is essential to enhance scientific data reusability and citability. The collaborative scientific data curation environment focuses on the cross-linking between data (or data collections) and their associated literatures to capture and organize inter-relations among research results in a specific domain. Also, plenty of contextual information is provided as metadata in order to support users in understanding data. The cross-linking has been realized by using DOI system to guarantee global accessibility to data and their relationships to literatures. The curation environment has been adopted to build a community-driven curated DB by a globally well-known intrinsically-disorderd protein research group. The curated DB will drastically reduce researchers' efforts to retrieve and collect the data required for scientific discovery.

  • The need for total enterprise management that covers from accepting orders, design, cost, procurement, manufacture, and delivery has been recently raised in order for efficient project management of small and medium size plant construction enterprises. This trend is reflected in the introduction of EPM(Enterprise Project Management) solutions by some shipbuilding enterprises and large construction corporations. In step with the trend, small and medium size plant construction enterprises are enabled to provide knowledge base in terms of reducing cost and production period and managing portfolio for accepting orders and attaining contract by inducing customized EPM This study presents a design of customized EPM based on a case study of a company. It exhibits a collaborative/collaboration resource-supply model which can be universally applied to small and medium size job-order production enterprises. The research discusses that under the assumption that information is shared internally between departments on planning, supply, manufacture, and quality control in order to create collaborative environment and close participation is created externally between suppliers and orderers, productivity can be improved in cost reduction through planning efficient collaborative supply model.

  • This paper describes the web-based collaborative learning system, in which the constructivism is used as a background theory. We designed and developed three modules (Learner Module, Instructor Module, Administrative Module) to promote the interactive communication between learners and instructors and to enable the self-directed collaborative learning. In addition, the assignment and evaluation sessions are closely linked with each other to ensure the high quality of the system. We expect this research helps to construct the efficient collaborative learning environment using the ICT(Information & Communication Technology).

  • The National research networks exist to support advanced science and technology in each country. The national research network must meet the requirements of science and technology in each field and continuously develop around the continuously changing environment. In recent years, demand for data - oriented science and technology research forms has been increasing. To cope with this demand, advanced national research networks are establishing mid - to long - term strategies. In this paper, the status of the advanced research network and trends and requirements of the national research network are analyzed from the viewpoint of the change of the research network environment, the change of science / technology, and the change of industry and life. In order to respond to the analyzed requirements, we propose mid - to long - term development directions and plans for establishing future network backbone, providing user - centered collaborative research environment, providing global collaborative network service, and providing high - tech science and technology research data information protection service.

  • We propose a virtual sailor training platform which supports emergency drills for ship's fire in virtual environment. Proposed platform not only enhances training efficiency by providing immersiveness, but also enables a consolidated virtual training due to the network-based multiplayer capabilities. Based on the offline fire simulation results using FDS and CFAST the platform visualizes a realistic fire spread in real-time. The training platform on the basis of the fire training material of the maritime safety education institute induces equipment proficiency and environment adaptation throughout immersive virtual environment in addition to procedure proficiency as well. In the implementation we showed that the equipment and environment controls and telepresence improve the training proficiency and enable collaborative virtual training that participates multiple trainees and induces cooperation for a common goal. Implementation of the platform demonstrated the skill mastery capability of the drill such as efficient fire apparatus controls and passenger controls.

  • Recently, there are two important research trends in the literature the red-time collaborative computing end electronic business process automation. This paper is one of those efforts that would establish an effective business office working and computing environment hough the integration of those two cutting-edge technologies. That is, we try to develop a workflow modeling tool that is semantically based upon the information control net(ICN), which is a typical workflow model for specifying office work procedures(business processes), and that is systemically based upon the real-time collaborative operations by a set of actors, which is called group, We name it "group ICN editor". This paper describes the design and implementation of the group ICN editor that is operable under the real-time collaborative computing environment. We use the Flexible rJAMM toolkit that enables the ICN editor to operate among multiple actors(group) through the event-driven collaboration platform, Consequently, a set of workflow and business processes defined through this editor is not only stored onto database but also transformed into the format of the workflow process definition language(WPDL) that is a standardized workflow description and specification language proposed by the workflow management coalition(WfMC).ion(WfMC).

  • The purpose of this study is to present various examples of collaborative learning based on the Instruction of Internet in the 6th grade elementary school mathematics class. So we introduce the design method of classroom environment for classroom Internet and give example of various teaching methods. This study was conducted for nine months from March to November, 2016, one sixth grade of elementary school in D area. During this period, we conducted Instruction of Internet-based collaborative learning to classify typical teaching cases. We classified into 5 type collaborative learning. First, collaborative learning in the classroom. Second, remote collaborative learning between classroom and classroom. Third, Live participation classes. Forth, project collaborative learning. Fifth, using virtual reality in collaborative learning. In addition, we could identify that there is a difference compared to the conventional learning. It became possible to conduct collaborative learning with other students simultaneously or have opening class with both parents and teachers by using Youtube. These examples can be presented as a case to depart from traditional mathematics class in one classroom. In this regard, we will be able to provide several implications about teaching methods utilizing smart device and Internet in future classroom.
