Amid the rapidly changing logistics environment and demand changes in the post-corona-19 era, the importance of the cold chain logistics sector is being highlighted. The scope of cold chain is not limited to food, but is expanding to various fields such as pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and flowers. The demand on the storage and transportation of corona vaccines is rapidly increasing. The rapid increase in domestic low-temperature facility construction and renovation may lead to the saturation of the cold chain related industry in the future and slow growth. In preparation for this, it is necessary to accumulate infrastructure know-how using IT technologies, and to consider entering into the UN procurement market as a potential niche market, by taking advantage of Korea's recent global status. The demand for cold chain in the UN procurement market is increasing mainly in underdeveloped countries, and it is expected to continue to grow. In this paper, the capabilities of domestic cold chain related companies were analyzed, domestic and overseas cold chain logistics market trends and overseas market entry status were investigated. An in-depth survey was conducted to present strategies for domestic cold chain logistics related companies to enter the UN procurement market.
The development of technology related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the growth of the online market due to pandemic are continuing the growth of the logistics market for product delivery. If it is difficult to deliver the product directly to the customer during delivery, storage and delivery using the unmanned courier box are being carried out. However, existing storage boxes are not actively used due to lack of usability even though they have the advantage of storing goods and delivering non-face-to-face. In addition, existing courier boxes are not prepared for cold chain transportation. The unmanned delivery storage device with ICT cold chain technology should be developed to prepare for the transition to non-face-to-face society, to improve logistics efficiency and meet user's requirements. Also, it is necessary to consider the measures to reduce the safety problems that may occur during the use and maintenance of the automatic system. This study conducted a model-based analysis for the development of unmanned delivery storage devices with ICT cold chain technology, and conducted a study to derive the system development specifications that meet the requirements and secure safety and apply them to the development process.
In smart cold chain, environment monitoring (for example temperature, humidity, and etc) is an important. Especially, because monitoring may be broken on passage, in order to success of cold chain management, it is important that seamless monitoring. To solve this problem, we implement mobile gateway supporting RFID and demonstrate using of RFID middleware emulator.

It is important to control environment information such as temperature in distribution & logistics systems. To manage temperature and environment information in realtime, SCCM(Smart Cold Chain Management) system must manage and integrate tags and various types sensor information. But, it needs standard code system to manage and integrate various types tags and sonsors. In this paper, we propose standard code system to apply the SCCM system.

The food cold chain refers to a technology and distribution supply chain applied to maintain a constant temperature suitable for the product from production (harvest) to delivery to consumers. In particular, in Korea, the insulation material used in the food cold chain is mostly EPS (Expanded Polystyrene), which is used as a transport container for various food cold chains. However, according to the government's eco-friendly policy, companies charge environmental contributions to the use of EPS, but due to its low price and convenience of handling, it is still used as a container for delivering food. In this study, in order to measure the domestic delivery environment of general refrigerated foods, changes in impact, temperature, and humidity during transport of the EPS packaging system containing foods and ice pack refrigerants were measured. As a result, there were 2?3 sections in which a high impact force of 40 G or more was generated during transport. This can cause damage to the product and EPS container. The difference in temperature and humidity changes by parcel transport routes is more than 30%, so it is necessary to present accurate standards for the domestic cold chain distribution environment. As a result of microbial experiments. the transportation period had a dominant effect on the increase in total viable count and E. coli count.

There is a new evolution in technological advancement taking place called the Internet of Things (IoT). The IoT enables physical world objects in our surroundings to be connected to the Internet. For this idea to come to life, two architectures are required: the Sensing Entity in the environment which collects data and connects to the cloud and the Cloud Service that hosts the data. In particular, the combination of wireless sensor network for sensing and cloud computing for managing sensor data is becoming a popular intervention for the IoT era. The pharmaceutical cold chain requires controlled environmental conditions for the sensitive products in order for them to maintain their potency and fit for consumption. The monitoring of distribution process is the only assurance that a process has been successfully validated. The distribution process is so critical that anomaly at any point will result in the process being no longer valid. Taking the cold chain monitoring to IoT and using its benefits and power will result in better management and product handling in the cold chain. In this paper, Arduino based wireless sensor network for storage and logistics (land and sea) is presented and integrated with Xively cloud service to offer a real-time and innovative solution for pharmaceutical cold chain monitoring.
The demand for biopharmaceuticals is on the rise spurred by the fourth industrial revolution and an aging society in Korea. Consequently, the scale of the biopharmaceutical industry is continuously increasing globally, thereby leading to an increase in the distribution of biopharmaceuticals. However, the relative inferiority of the domestic drug distribution structure, when compared to the advanced countries, and strict logistics regulations concerning the handling of biopharmaceuticals have raised the need for systematic management. Essentially, the significance of third-party logistics companies in the cold chain for pharmaceutical cold chain has increased with an intense management environment for pharmaceuticals. The purpose of this study is to investigate the selection factors of drug cold chain's third-party logistics companies and to examine the influence of selection factors on satisfaction. A multiple regression analysis was conducted to investigate how cold chain third-party logistics factors affect the satisfaction of third-party logistics in cold chain. The results of analysis showed that expertise, facility, and linkage are factors affect customer satisfaction. The managerial capacity was derived not as an influential factor. These findings suggest that the future cold chain industry will be equipped to provide direction and strategic implications.
Objective: To develop healthier comminuted meat products to meet consumer demand, the gel properties, rheological properties, microstructure and water distribution of pork meat batters formulated with various amounts of bamboo shoot dietary fiber (BSDF) were investigated. Methods: Different levels of BSDF (0% to 4%) were added to pork batters, and the pH, color, water-holding capacity, texture and rheological properties of pork batters were determined. Then, pork batters were analyzed for their microstructure and water distribution using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (LF-NMR). Results: Compared with the control, BSDF addition into meat batters showed a significant reduction in L*-value and a significant increase in b*-value (p<0.05). BSDF addition of up to 4% reduced the pH value of pork batters by approximately 0.15 units; however, the cooking loss and expressible water loss decreased significantly (p<0.05) with the increased addition of BSDF. The hardness and gel strength were noticeably enhanced (p<0.05) as the content of BSDF increased. The rheological results showed that BSDF added into pork batters produced higher storage modulus (G') and loss modulus (G") values. The SEM images suggested that the addition of BSDF could promote pork batters to form a more uniform and compact microstructure. The proportion of immobilized water increased significantly (p<0.05), while the population of free water was decreased (p<0.05), indicating that BSDF improved the water-holding capability of pork batters by decreasing the fraction of free water. Conclusion: BSDF could improve the gel properties, rheological properties and water distribution of pork meat batters and decrease the proportion of free water, suggesting that BSDF has great potential as an effective binder in comminuted meat products.

Recently, securing stable supply of fresh food is deemed as one of the important tasks. Accordingly, now the presence of cold chain along with the needs of a comfortable and healthy life is growing as the online market expands and the contactless industry grows, however, cold chain is being studied only in the aspect of ground and sea transportation. And, due to global warming and strengthening global environmental regulations, we believe that it is necessary to convert the existing road-centered logistics system into a railway-centered logistics system, a low-carbon transportation means. Therefore, in this paper we calculated the maximum energy required by the reefer container as a basic research necessary for constructing the low temperature distribution and cold chain based on the reefer container railway, and conducted a study on methods of supplying the reefer container power utilizing 1. tramline, 2. battery, 3. generator. The results of this paper can be utilized as a foundational study for building a cold chain based on a reefer container dedicated to freight trains in the future.

Recently, due to the expansion of the logistics industry, demand for logistics automation equipment is increasing. The modern logistics industry is a high-tech industry that combines various technologies. In general, as various technologies are grafted, the complexity of the system increases, and the occurrence rate of defects and failures also increases. As such, it is time for a predictive maintenance model specialized for logistics automation equipment. In this paper, in order to secure the operational reliability of the ICT/Cold-Chain Unmanned Storage, a predictive maintenance system was implemented based on the LSTM model. In this paper, a server for data management, such as collection and monitoring, and an analysis server that notifies the monitoring server through data-based failure and defect analysis are separately distinguished. The predictive maintenance platform presented in this paper works by collecting data and receiving data based on RabbitMQ, loading data in an InMemory method using Redis, and managing snapshot data DB in real time. The predictive maintenance platform can contribute to securing reliability by identifying potential failures and defects that may occur in the operation of the ICT/Cold-Chain Unmanned Storage in the future.
