섬유근통 증후군 환자를 위한 인지행동 프로그램의 효과: 무작위 대조군 전후실험설계 (Effects of a Cognitive Behavior Therapy Program for Patients with Fibromyalgia Syndrome: A Randomized Controlled Trial)

  • Purpose: This study developed a cognitive behavioral therapy program aimed at altering the physical condition, emotions, and behaviors of fibromyalgia patients, and confirmed the program's clinical applicability. The program was developed by analyzing previous studies conducting in-depth interviews with fibromyalgia patients, drawing on cognitive behavior theory to establish the program contents, recruiting experts to test its validity, and conducting a preliminary survey. Methods: To confirm the program's effect, this study used a randomized controlled trial design. The participants were outpatients diagnosed with fibromyalgia in Dong-A University Hospital, Busan. The 30 patients in the experimental group took part in the program, which comprised 8 sessions (90 to 120 minutes) based on cognitive behavior theory, delivered over 8 weeks. Hypothesis testing was carried out using the repeated measures ANOVA. Results: The analysis revealed significant differences between the experimental and control groups in positive automatic thoughts, pain, fatigue, depression, and interpersonal relationships. However, there was no significant difference between the groups in terms of sleep disorders and negative automatic thoughts. Conclusion: This program is a positive effect on physical condition, emotions, and behaviors. It is thus expected to be used to help fibromyalgia patients improve their disease conditions.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of adolescent self-conscious emotion, empathy, forgiveness and prosocial behavior across gender and grade, to analyze the difference between the correlations among prosocial behavior and other variables across gender and grade, and to investigate the effects of adolescent self-conscious emotion, empathy, forgiveness on prosocial behavior in each gender and grade group. The subjects were 272 adolescents who were recruited by purposive sampling in the Chungbuk area. The results indicated that the empathy of girls was higher than that of boys. Boys showed a stronger correlation between prosocial behavior and guilt than girls. Next, boys' prosocial behavior was predicted by cognitive empathy, guilt, and pride, whereas girls' prosocial behavior was predicted by forgiveness toward others, pride, cognitive empathy and emotional empathy. Last, middle school students' prosocial behavior was predicted by pride and guilt, whereas that of high school students' was predicted by cognitive empathy, guilt, pride, and forgiveness toward others and the situation. In conclusion, self-conscious emotions, empathy, and forgiveness all predicted adolescent prosocial behavior but in different ways across gender and grade. It implies that adolescents need diverse educational programs according to their gender and grade, to promote their self-conscious emotions, moral emotions, and prosocial behavior.

의류제품 구매시 감정적 요인이 구매행동에 미치는 행동 (Effects of Affective Factors on Apparel Buying Behaviors)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate consumer's antecedent mood, cognitive factors, and experienced affection, to find out the relationships among antecedent mood, cognitive factors, experienced affection, and consumer's characteristics, and to examine the discriminant variables of apparel buying behaviors. We developed an questionaire based on the previous studies and pretests. We collected data from 443 housewives living in Pusan and analyzed by Factor analysis, t-test, and Discriminant analysis. The results showed as following: 1. Antecedent mood consists of four factors and cognitive factors in store were composed of four factors. Experienced affection in store includes Pleasure, Dominant and Stimulating feeling. 2. We discovered that consumer characteristics related to the antecedent mood, the experienced affection and cognitive factors in store. 3. Purchasers didn't relate to the consumer characteristics, and related to the antecedent mood, the cognitive factors, the experienced affection in store. Experienced affection and antecedent moods appeared to be important factors in determining apparel buying behavior of consumers. Especially, Pleasure and Dominance of the experienced affection and Depression, Excitation/expectation. Worry and Self-encouraging of the antecedent moods were more important variables in determining apparel buying behavior than any other variables.

공감 능력이 사회 정의 실천에 미치는 영향: 사회 인지적 관점에서 (The Effect of Empathy on Social Justice Commitment: A Social-Cognitive Perspective)

  • 본 연구는 공감 능력이 사회 정의 실천에 미치는 영향을 사회 인지적 관점에서 알아보고자 하였다. 구체적으로 인지적 공감과 정서적 공감이 사회 정의 자기 효능감, 사회 정의 결과 기대, 사회 정의 관심이라는 사회 인지적 기제를 통해 사회 정의 실천에 어떤 영향을 주는 지를 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 서울 및 경기도에 거주하는 20대 537명을 대상으로 사회적 이슈 질문지, 사회적 바람직성 척도, 한국어판 공감 지수 척도를 포함하는 자기 보고식 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 사회적 바람직성을 통제한 뒤 연구 모형을 구조 방정식 모형을 통해 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 인지적 공감에 비해 정서적 공감의 영향력이 더 큰 것으로 나타났으나 두 변인 모두 사회 정의 실천에 유의한 영향력을 행사하며, 특별히 사회 인지적 기제를 거쳐 간접적으로 사회 정의 실천에 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 공감 능력이 일반적인 이타행동 뿐만 아니라 사회적 불평등과 차별의 개념을 포함하는 사회 정의 실천 역시 예측한다는 것을 시사한다. 본 연구의 결과를 종합하여 정서적 또는 인지적 공감의 측면에서 사회 정의 실천을 촉진할 수 있는 방안을 제안하였다.

  • Factor analysis of data collected from 336 elementary school children provided difficuitness and susceptibility as the temperament factors, and affect and control as the nurturing factors. Results showed that non-susceptible children with low controlling mother perceived their cognitive competence positively while highly susceptible children showed no differences in their self-competence by mothers' controlling behavior. Perceived cognitive competence of susceptible boys and of susceptible 3rd graders were low when their mothers asserted low control. Thus, mothers' controlling behavior supported perceived cognitive competence in highly susceptible boys and 3rd graders. That is, the effect of mother's behavior on child's self-competence was moderated by child's characteristics. These results partially supported the Conditional Model.

차이연령에 따른 감각추구 성향과 패션 탐색적 행동 (The Sensation Seeking Tendency and the Fashion Exploratory Behavior according to the Difference Age)

  • To pursue youth and agelessness can be regarded as a global trend today. The younger a woman recognizes herself to be, the more sensation seeking tendency and the more active fashion exploratory behavior of younger generation she would show. This study attempted to empirically examine the relationship between sensation seeking behavior and fashion exploratory behavior according to the difference age in women in their 30's to 50s'. After the survey, a total of 480 questionnaires was used for data analysis. The results of this study are as follows, 1. It was found that there was a very high correlation among cognitive ages, and the lower cognitive age a woman had, the higher difference age she showed. 2. Sensation seeking tendency of adult women was shown in two factors of change seeking and artistic sensation seeking, and these factors accounted for 73.99% of the total variances. Fashion exploratory behavior had 4 factors such as fashion leadership, behavior of hedonic shopping, behavior of clothing communication and behavior of clothing purchase with taking a risk, and these four factors accounted for 75.87% of the total variances. 3. The higher difference age and the higher tendency of sensation seeking an adult woman had, the higher fashion exploratory behavior was shown, and the higher the difference age, the higher tendency of change seeking and artistic sensation seeking.

  • An integrated framework of modeling the human operator cognitive behavior during nuclear power plant accident scenarios is presented. It incorporates both plant and operator models. The basic structure of the operator model is similar to that of existing cognitive models, however, this model differs from those existing ones largely in too aspects. First, using frame and membership function, the pattern matching behavior, which is identified as the dominant cognitive process of operators responding to an accident sequence, is explicitly implemented in this model. Second, the non-task-related human cognitive activities like effect of stress and cognitive biases such as confirmation bias and availability bias, are also considered. A computer code, OPEC is assembled to simulate this framework and is actually applied to an SGTR sequence, and the resultant simulated behaviors of operator are obtained.

An Investigation of Cognitive-Metacognitive Characteristics in Problem Solving Behavior

  • This paper reports an investigation of problem solving activities of students at university level students. The study focused on the cognitive-metacognitive and affective activities appeared in problem solving process. The cognitive-metacognitive framework was used to analyzed and categorize the written response and free response of interviews probing the students\\` cognitive-metacognitive activities. Affective factors were assessed by administering the problem solving survey (Carlson, The emergence of students\\` problem solving behavior, 1999). This study provide an insight for the design of problem solving instruction by identifying cognitive, metacognitive and affective characteristics of the students\\` problem solving behaviors. The results report that the metacognitive factor were significantly related to problem solving performance interacting with both cognitive and affective factors.

외식광고로 인한 인지부조화가 소비자의 구매 만족도 및 구매 후 행동에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Cognitive Dissonance in Franchise Foodservice Advertisement on Customer Satisfaction and Post-purchase Behavior)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the post-purchase behavior of customers who experienced cognitive dissonance after exposure to a franchise foodservice advertisement. The study adopted cognitive dissonance theory to explain the dissonance resulting from the combination of advertisements and actual product that consumers received. In detail, the research hypothesized that cognitive dissonance will affect consumers' post-purchase behavior as well as their efforts to reduce dissonance. Exactly 274 questionnaires were used in the analysis. The results showed that more than 80% of respondents were influenced by advertisements when purchasing menus, and 50% were unsatisfied when the provided menu "was not the same as the advertisement shown". It was found that advertisement type did not significantly affect either group that experienced dissonance. In terms of satisfaction, however, the former group showed greater dissatisfaction when dissonance occurred (p<.001). Finally, there was a significant difference between the two groups regarding post-purchase behavior (p<.05). Customers with dissonance were likely to 'express dissatisfaction directly to the store', 'leave negative reviews', and 'participate in negative word-of-mouth'. Thus, the results revealed that cognitive dissonance could significantly influence customer satisfaction and consequently lead to negative post-purchasing behaviors.

Natural-Language-Based Robot Action Control Using a Hierarchical Behavior Model

  • In order for humans and robots to interact in daily life, robots need to understand human speech and link it to their actions. This paper proposes a hierarchical behavior model for robot action control using natural language commands. The model, which consists of episodes, primitive actions and atomic functions, uses a sentential cognitive system that includes multiple modules for perception, action, reasoning and memory. Human speech commands are translated to sentences with a natural language processor that are syntactically parsed. A semantic parsing procedure was applied to human speech by analyzing the verbs and phrases of the sentences and linking them to the cognitive information. The cognitive system performed according to the hierarchical behavior model, which consists of episodes, primitive actions and atomic functions, which are implemented in the system. In the experiments, a possible episode, "Water the pot," was tested and its feasibility was evaluated.
