A Study on a concatenated RS code and Turbo code for OFDM system over burst noise channel

  • In this paper, a concatenated RS and Turbo code is proposed for OFDM system over burst error channel. The concatenated code used in this study is a RS(255,2D2) code and a rate 1/2 turbo code. The turbo code uses 2 recursive systematic convolutional (RSC) code as the constituent codes and the parity bit are punctured to get the desired code rate. It is shown by simulation that the conventional OFDM system fails when there exists burst noise. The concatenated RS and turbo code obtains at least 5dB gain over the turbo code at the bit error probability of $10^{-3}$.

  • 현재 RFID 코드 체계는 크게 ISO와 EPC 표준으로 구분되고 있으며, 그 외에 uCode, KKR 코드, 모바일 RFID 코드 등 다양한 코드 체계가 있다. RFID 시스템은 RFID 코드 체계에 따라서 달라진다. 다양한 RFID 코드 체계에 의해서 RFID 사업의 영속성 및 네트워크화를 이루는 데에 어려운 점이 많다. 또한 새로운 RFID 표준 코드 체계가 추가되거나 기존의 RFID 코드체계가 수정될 경우, 효율적으로 RFID 사업에 추가 및 수정을 하기에 힘들다. 이에 따라 본 논문은 온톨로지를 이용한 다중 RFID 코드 식별 변환 시스템에 대해서 제안한다. 다양한 RFID 코드 체계 식별 정보 및 변환 정보를 온톨로지로 구축하여 RFID 리더 장치에서 읽은 RFID 코드 데이터를 어떠한 RFID 코드 체계인가를 식별하고 이에 따라서 URN 형태의 데이터로 변환할 수 있는 시스템으로, RFID 코드 체계가 확장되거나 수정될 경우 코드 체계의 식별 정보 및 변환 정보를 효율적으로 추가 및 수정 할 수 있다.

  • This paper presents a system architecture and database of construction quality management system which encourages real time information tracking and monitoring. It improves the real time quality record tracking by using QR code technology in the project delivery. The advantages and issues relative to QR code and the database structures of the tracking system are presented. Conventional project scheduling system, operation modeling and analysis system, and quality management system are hybridized using QR code technology. The system improves project quality management by tracking the atomic tasks which consists of a construction process at the lowest level of construction hierarchy. It analyzes the quality records to determine the causes of abnormality and/or nonconformity. Using QR code technology, the construction quality management system may be more effective than the conventional one. It was confirmed that the quality management processes in construction project delivery can be more visible and controllable by integrating QR code technology, project scheduling system, and quality management system.

Zephyr 커널에서 커널 공간과 사용자 공간의 분리 구현 (Separation of Kernel Space and User Space in Zephyr Kernel)

  • The operating system for IoT should have a small memory footprint and provide low power state, real-time, multitasking, various network protocols, and security. Although the Zephyr kernel, an operating system for IoT, released by the Linux Foundation in February 2016, has these features but errors generated by the user code can generate fatal problems in the system because the Zephyr kernel adopts a single-space method that both the user code and kernel code execute in the same space. In this research, we propose a space separation method, which separates kernel space and user space, to solve this problem. The space separation that we propose consists of three modifications in Zephyr kernel. The first is the code separation that kernel code and user code execute in each space while using different stacks. The second is the kernel space protection that generates an exception by using the MPU (Memory Protection Unit) when the user code accesses the kernel space. The third is the SVC based system call that executes the system call using the SVC instruction that generates the exception. In this research, we implemented the space separation in Zephyr v1.8.0 and evaluated safety through abnormal execution of the user code. As the result, the kernel was not crashed by the errors generated by the user code and was normally executed.

투약.수혈 바코드 시스템 적용 평가 (Evaluation of the Bar Code Medication Administration and Blood Transfusion System in a Tertiary Hospital)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the clinical application of a bar code medication administration and blood transfusion system and to identify its effects from the aspect of patient safety and nurse satisfaction in a tertiary hospital. Methods: The system in this study was PDA with bar code reading capability and wireless networking function. The logs created during application of the system and administration error reports were analyzed. For nurses' satisfaction with the system, data were collected from 337 nurses using the instrument developed by Otieno et al. and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: The system application rate was 98.8%, and the main failure cases in the system application included bar code or network related factors. When the system was applied, 0.02% of errors were prevented. The nurses were satisfied with the system from the aspect of patient safety, however relatively less satisfied with the system from the aspect of work efficiency. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate the usefulness for patient safety of applying the bar code medication administration and blood transfusion system to clinical practice. However technological improvements including bar code and network communication are necessary to ensure higher work efficiency in nursing practice.

PB/MC-CDMA 시스템에서 여분의 코드집합을 이용한 PAPR 감쇄기법에 관한 연구 (Research on the PAPR Reduction Method using Selection of Extra Code Set in PB/MC-CDMA System)

  • PB/MC-CDMA(Partial Block Multi Carrier Code Division Multilple Access) 시스템은 사용자간의 코드 간 간섭을 줄임으로써 성능을 향상 시키는 시스템이다. 또한, 이 시스템은 심볼 간 간섭을 피하면서 주파수 다이버시티 이득을 얻을 수 있어 MC-CDMA(Multi Carrier Code Division Multiple Access) 시스템보다 향상된 성능을 보여준다. 그러나, 다중캐리어를 사용함으로써 PAPR 문제가 발생하여 시스템의 성능을 저하 시킨다. 이 논문에서는, PB/MC-CDMA 시스템에서 추가적인 정보 없이 여분의 확산 코드를 이용하여 최적화된 확산코드를 선택함으로써, 피크전력을 줄이는 방법을 제안한다. PB/MC-CDMA 시스템은 각 블록 단위로 확산 코드를 재사용함으로써, 여분의 코드가 남게 된다. 이러한 여분의 코드를 여러 개의 그룹으로 나누어 PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio)을 계산하고, 피크전력이 최소가 되는 코드를 선택하여 전송함으로써 PAPR 문제를 해결할 수 있는 방법이다.

증기발생기 전열관 다중파단-피동보조급수냉각계통 사고 실험 기반 안전해석코드 SPACE 검증 (Verification of SPACE Code with MSGTR-PAFS Accident Experiment)

  • The Korean nuclear industry developed the SPACE (Safety and Performance Analysis Code for nuclear power plants) code and this code adpots two-phase flows, two-fluid, three-field models which are comprised of gas, continuous liquid and droplet fields and has a capability to simulate three-dimensional model. According to the revised law by the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission (NSSC) in Korea, the multiple failure accidents that must be considered for accident management plan of nuclear power plant was determined based on the lessons learned from the Fukushima accident. Generally, to improve the reliability of the calculation results of a safety analysis code, verification work for separate and integral effect experiments is required. In this reason, the goal of this work is to verify calculation capability of SPACE code for multiple failure accident. For this purpose, it was selected the experiment which was conducted to simulate a Multiple Steam Generator Tube Rupture(MSGTR) accident with Passive Auxiliary Feedwater System(PAFS) operation by Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) and focused that the comparison between the experiment results and code calculation results to verify the performance of the SPACE code. The MSGR accident has a unique feature of the penetration of the barrier between the Reactor Coolant System (RCS) and the secondary system resulting from multiple failure of steam generator U-tubes. The PAFS is one of the advanced safety features with passive cooling system to replace a conventional active auxiliary feedwater system. This system is passively capable of condensing steam generated in steam generator and feeding the condensed water to the steam generator by gravity. As the results of overall system transient response using SPACE code showed similar trends with the experimental results such as the system pressure, mass flow rate, and collapsed water level in component. In conclusion, it could be concluded that the SPACE code has sufficient capability to simulate a MSGTR accident.

Numerical Algorithm for Phase Offsets of Binary Codes in the Code Division Multiple Access System

  • There has been a growing need for increased capacity in cellular systems. This has resulted in the adoption of the code division multiple access (CDMA) system as a multiple channel access method. Thus, it is important to obtain the phase offsets of binary codes in the CDMA system because distinct phase offsets of the same code are used to distinguish signals received at the mobile station from different base stations. This letter proposes an efficient algorithm to compute the phase offset of a binary code in the CDMA system through the use of the basic facts of number theory and a new notion of the subcodes of a given code. We also formulate the algorithm in a compact form.

  • 본 논문에서는 전송률이 서로 다른 다양한 서비스들을 지원하기 위한 새로운 비동기 MC-CDMA 시스템을 제안한다. 제안한 시스템에서는 W-CDMA 하향링크에 사용되는 채널화 코드인 OVSF 코드의 생성특성을 이용하여 발생된 OVSF 코드를 다중전송률 MC-CDMA의 확산부호로 사용한다. 사용자의 전송률에 따라 길이가 다른 OVSF 코드를 확산부호로 사용하며 OVSF 코드트리에서 같은 가지에 속한 코드들을 사용하는 사용자들을 모아 그룹화를 한다. 코드그룹화 간섭제거방식을 사용하여 그룹간 간섭을 일차적으로 제거하는데, 이때 간섭을 일으키는 다른 사용자들에 대한 정보가 요구되지 않는다. 제안된 다중 전송률 비동기 MC-CDMA 시스템을 위한 모델을 제시하고 이에 따른 시스템 성능분석을 행한다. 제안된 시스템과 직교부호를 확산부호로 사용하는 단일 전송률 MC-CDMA시스템의 성능과 비교 분석한다.
