Purpose: This study examined the effects of trunk side shift exercise on the Cobb's angle. Methods: Fifty-eight subjects (control group=30, scoliosis group=28) were enrolled in this study. The idiopathic scoliosis groups were divided randomly into two groups, a side shift exercise (SSE) group, and a trunk stabilization exercise (TSE) group. The SSE group performed side shift exercise on the developed chair training for eight weeks. The TSE group performed trunk stabilization exercise. A oneway ANOVA test was carried out to compare the results within the idiopathic scoliosis patient group before and after the exercises based on the different exercise methods. Results: The Cobb's angles were compared among control group and SSE group and TSE group. As a result, there was a significant difference from SSE group and TSE group(p=0.000), but there were no significant differences between the SSE and TSE groups (p=0.085). Conclusion: Side shift exercises are effective in improving the Cobb's angle. Therefore, the use of the side shift exercise chair designed in this study can replace general exercise either at work or during studies. Therefore, this method is easily accessible for busy modern students who are exposed to scoliosis or spinal disorders due to a pattern of inactivity.
In order to investigate the Post-operative changes in scoliotic spine according to selection of fusion level a mathematical finite element model of King-Moe type II scoliotics spine system was developed. By utilizing this finite element scoliosis model surgical correction simulation procedures of pedicle fixation and derotation were simulated. In consequence of the calculation by changing the fusion Levels, postoperative changes like Cobb angle, apical vertebrae axial rotation (AVAR), thoracic kyphosis, and rib hump were Qualitatively analyzed. In the analysis of operative kinematics, the decrease or Cobb angle was most prominent in distraction than in deroation. Applying the rod derotation only was not effective in decrease of Cobb angle but just caused increase of At AR and rib hump. From the operative simulation, co-action or distraction and translation during rod insertion has major impact on Cobb angle decrease and maintenance of kyphosis. With rod rotation, Cobb angle decrease was obtained, but combined increase of AVAR and rib hump was simulation observed as well. The case of most extended instrumentation range with 60o rod rotation produced double decrease of Cobb angle, but the increase of rib hump and AYAR occurred corresponding1y. The optimum selection of fusion level was proved as one level less than inflection position of the thoracic spine curvature.
The purpose of this study is to report the effect of muscle energy technique (MET) and Schroth method on idiopathic scoliosis. A patient with idiopathic scoliosis was treated by MET and Schroth method. To investigate the outcome of the patient's improvement, we observed the X-ray of cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine. And Cobb's angle, correctability, visual analog scale (VAS) were used to measure changes during treatment. After treatment, Cobb's angle and correctability, VAS were improved significantly. MET and Schroth method are proved to be helpful to improve idiopathic scoliosis. And, further studies will be needed.
The purpose of the study was to pay attention to the studies of P. Cobb which have actively been quoted in the international research of mathematics education for the last three decades and to look at the result and effect of his research. In particular, we in-depth studied theories and the methods of the study which he has tried to reduce the gap in the theory and practice and investigated effects of his research to the Korean societies of mathematics education. Cobb made special effort to integrate radical constructivism and social constructivism and used emergent theory and symbolic interactionism as theoretical background of the study. Also he analyzed the mathematics classroom in individual and social perspectives based on the interpretive frames of social norm, sociomathematical norm and classroom-mathematical practices then dealt with equity and identity of the students. Because Cobb contributed significantly to the development of practical theory using design experiment as the method of studies, we presented the definition, characteristics, principles, processes and practices of the design experiment. We anticipate that his ways of research would be used as means of unifying the theory and the practice in school.
The purpose of this study is to offer more accurate information in whole spine examination of 3 spot DR through the comparative study about image distortion as making the flat phantom and measuring horizontal, vertical ratio and cobb angle of the virtual. We produced $H(40cm){\times}V(116cm){\times}D(2.3cm)$ flat acrylic phantom with lattice type of lead plate. We took projection respectively 3 times, total 9 times in each equipments using manufactured phantom as changing OFD to 6, 12, 18 cm. We measured a horizontal and vertical length of lead lattice and calculated the ratio. As appointing arbitrary points in the phantom and we measured cobb angle. The results of horizontal, vertical ratio measured CR type 0.98~1.01, scan DR type 0.96~0.97 and 3 spot DR 0.99~1.01. Cobb angle measured $52.5{\sim}53.3^{\circ}$, $52.1{\sim}54.3^{\circ}$ and $52.8{\sim}53.2^{\circ}$. Finally we can say that 3 spot DR method is an accurate method without any distortion in whole spine radiography.

The purpose of this paper to study on measuring method in technical progress. Technology is combination method of raw material and capital, land, labour. The first step to technical Progress is COBB-DOUGLAS production function, so technical progresses are important role in economic growth and development. General production function from Y=f(K, L, T) and COBB-DOUGLAS production function Y=${AK^I}{L^b}$ is first condition. Technical progress is saving of production factor In capital saving, labour saving, neutral saving. Marred Hicks Robinson has Insist on technical progress by each view of production factor, but, what is most excellent measuring method of technical progress\ulcorner I : productivity index method. II : Gross Production function method. Productivity method used in every products level in weight values, gross method function method used in production factor attributed to products. Above two measuring method has delicate problem in each input factor, substitution relation and production factor simultaneously linked each others This basic problem based on technical progress is not solubable in this time.

PURPOSE : The purpose of this study to suggest the exercise programs for improving the function and structure by applying the Masan university scoliosis program exercise method and electrical therapy method to the scoliosis patient. METHODS : The subjects were 18 patients who were diagnosed with scoliosis. They were randomly assigned either to a Masan university scoliosis program exercise group (n=11) that received Masan university scoliosis program exercise program or to a electrical therapy group (n=7). Flexibility, static balance, dynamic balance, and spinal angles were measured by using one leg standing with closed eyes, functional reach test, and Cobb's angle, respectively. The chest expansion were calculated using differences of chest circumference between maximum inspiration and maximum expiration. RESULT : Masan university scoliosis program group before and after the intervention there was a difference in the static balance, spine angle(p<.05). Masan university scoliosis program group before and after the intervention there was a difference in the flexibility, static balance, spine angle, chest expansion (p<.05). CONCLUSION : These results revealed that Masan university scoliosis program exercise program improved flexibility, static standing balance, spine angle, used as scoliosis management and intervention. Therefore, it is expected to be used as a method for the treatment and prevention in the process of rehabilitation of patients with scoliosis.

Purpose: This study was done to identify the effects of an exercise correction program for scoliosis on the physical and psychological functions of middle-school students with scoliosis. Method: The design of this study was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The students who participated in the study were 45 middle school students with scoliosis. Twenty-four students were assigned to the experimental group and 21 to the control group. The treatment given to the experimental group was a scoliosis correction exercise program. The scoliosis correction exercise program was given 3 times a week for a period of 12 weeks. Result: For Cobb's angle, a significant decrease was observed in the experimental group. For flexibility, the sit-and-reach test showed a significant increase in the experimental group. For depression, self-esteem and body satisfaction, the difference between the two groups was not significant. Conclusion: Based on the above results, the effects of a spine correction exercise program produced a decrease in Cobb's angle and an increase in the sit-and-reach test for flexibility. This program is not expensive and is convenient, and thus has been identified as a good nursing intervention for correcting scoliosis.

Objectives This study was conducted to characterize scoliosis patients visiting Korean medicine hospital and to analyze the demands and factors affecting discomfort. Methods This retrospective study analyzed 33 scoliosis patients who visited Korean medicine hospital from March, 2021 to October, 2021. The data analysis consisted of three factors: (1) demographic characteristics, (2) characteristics of demands on Korean medicine (reasons for choosing Korean medical treatment, preferred treatment methods, most uncomfortable part, treatment priorities) and (3) discomfort factors (treatment experiences, diagnosed age and Cobb's angle). Statistical analyses were performed and a p-value≤0.05 was considered to be statistically significant. Results 43.75% of the patients chose 'effectiveness' for the reason why they preferred Korean medicine treatment. 'Chuna treatment' was the most preferred treatment method. The patients chose 'lower back' for the most uncomfortable part and 'pain' for the highest priority of improvement. The Cobb's angle of included patients was 16.02±7.65° and it is not much differ to average of Cobb's angle in Korean. Discomfort was more severe in the patients with treatment-experienced than treatment-naive. The score of discomfort in appearance and psychological were higher in the patients diagnosed in childhood or adolescent period than who were diagnosed after adult. Classification based on Cobb's angle showed no statistical difference. Conclusions Not only Cobb's angle but also other clinical factors should be considered for effective treatment in scoliosis. Also, It is necessary to pay attention to adult scoliosis patients.
