Spin Coating 법을 이용한 $VF_2$-TrFE/Si(100) 구조의 제작 및 특성 (Fabrication and Properties of $VF_2$-TrFE/Si(100) Structure by using Spin Coating Method)

  • The ferroelectric vinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene ($VF_2$-TrFE) and $Al_2O_3$ passivation layer for the Metal/Insulator/Ferroelectric/Semiconductor (MIFS) structure were deposited using spin coating and remote plasma atomic layer deposition (RPALD), respectively. A 2.5 ~ 3 wt % diluted solution of purified vinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene ($VF_2$: TrFE=70:30) in a DMF solution were prepared and deposited on silicon wafer at a optimized spin speed. After annealing in a vacuum ambient at 150 ~ $200^{\circ}C$ for 60 min, upper insulator layer were deposited at temperature ranging from 100 ~ $150^{\circ}C$ by RPALD. We described electrical and structural properties of MIFS fabricated by spin coating and RPALD methods.

전통 칠 유래 성분의 확인 (Identification of the Derivated Species from Traditional Coating Films)

  • Identification of coating film species from ancient coating materials is needed to maintaine their surfaces without loss of their original beauty for a long time and understand the historical background of manufacturing techniques. A pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS) was applied to identify the origine of films in ancient coating materials. The pyrolysis products, which reflect the source from which they originate were detected distinctively at $500^{\circ}C$. This is a rapid technique that does not require large amounts of sample or any sample preparation. Sesquiterpenes are a class of terpenes that consist of three isoprene units were identified as cadienes, selinenes, cubebenes from the raw material of dendropanax morbifera. On the other hand, alkanes(tetra~heptadecanes), alkenes (tri~heptadecenes), allkyphenols, catechols and fatty acids were detected from the raw material of the lacquer film. Based on these results, the origine of historic coatings artifacts was identified using py-GC/MS by comparison with their pyrolysis products.

PZT 후막의 미세 구조적 특성에 조성과 전구체 용액의 코팅이 미치는 영향 (Effect of Composition and Coating of Precursor Solution on a Micro Structural Properties of PZT Thick Films)

  • The influence of the number of solution coatings on the densification of the PZT thick films was studied. PZT powder and PZT precursor solution was prepared by a sol-gel method and PZT thick films were fabricated by the screen-printing method on the alumina substrates. The powder and solution of composition were (A) PZT(80/20)/PZT(20/80), (B) PZT(70/30)/PZT(30/70) and (C) PZT(60/40)/PZT(40/60), (D) PZT(52/48)/PT. The coating and drying procedure was repeated 4 times. And then the PZT precursor solution was spin-coated on the PZT thick films. A concentration of a coating solution was 0.5 moth and the number of coating was repeated from 0 to 6. The porosity of the thick films was decreased with increasing the number of coatings and the PZT thick films with 6-times coated showed the dense microstructure and thickness of about $60{\mu}m$. A grain size was increased with increasing the coating number. All PZT thick films showed the typical XRD patterns of a typical perovskite polycrystalline structure. The relative dielectric constant of PZT thick films was improved 30-100% as the number of coatings.

  • Poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) is one of the promising representive of polymer gate dielectric for its high resistivity and sutible dielectric constant. PMMA (Mw=96700) films were prepared on p-Si by spin coating method. PMMA were coated compactively and flatly as observeed by AFM. MIS(Al/PMMA/p-Si) structure was made and capacitance-voltage (C-V) and current-voltage (I-V) measurements were done with PMMA films for different thermal treatment temperature. PMMA films were showed proper dielectric constant and breakdown voltage. Above the glass transition temperature PMMA films degraded. C-V measured at various frequencies, dielectric constant increased a little. The absence of hysteresis in the C-V characteristics, which eliminate the possibility of mobile charges in the PMMA films. The observed thermal stability, smooth surfaces, dielectric constant, I-V behavior implies PMMA formed by spin coating can be used as an efficient gate dielectric layer in OTFTs.

  • This paper presents a process optimization of antireflectiun (AR) coating on crystalline Si solar cells. Theoretical and experimental investigations were performed on a doble-layer AR(DLAR) coating of MgF$_2$/CeO$_2$, We investigated CeO$_2$ films as an All layer because they hale a proper refractive index of 2.46 and demonstrate the same lattice constant as Si substrate. RF sputter grown CeO$_2$ film showed strong dependence on a deposition temperature. The CeO$_2$ film deposited at 400 $^{\circ}C$ exhibited a strong (111) preferred orientation and the lowest surface roughness of 6.87 $\AA$. Refractive index of MgF$_2$ film was measured as 1.386 for the most of growth temperature. An optimized DLAR coating showed a reflectance as low as 2.04 % in the wavelengths ranged from 0.4 7m to 1.1 7m. We achieved the efficiencies of solar cells greater than 15% with 3.12 % improvement with DLAR coatings . Further details on MgF$_2$, CeO$_2$ films, and cell fabrication Parameters are presented in this paper.

상압 플라즈마 표면처리를 통한 태양광모듈 커버글라스와 불소계 코팅의 응착력 향상 (Improved Adhesion of Solar Cell Cover Glass with Surface-Flourinated Coating Using Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Treatment)

  • We propose a method for improving the reliability of a solar cell by applying a fluorinated surface coating to protect the cell from the outdoor environment using an atmospheric pressure plasma (APP) treatment. An APP source is operated by radio frequency (RF) power, Ar gas, and $O_2gas$. APP treatment can remove organic contaminants from the surface and improve other surface properties such as the surface free energy. We determined the optimal APP parameters to maximize the surface free energy by using the dyne pen test. Then we used the scratch test in order to confirm the correlation between the APP parameters and the surface properties by measuring the surface free energy and adhesive characteristics of the coating. Consequently, an increase in the surface free energy of the cover glass caused an improvement in the adhesion between the coating layer and the cover glass. After treatment, adhesion between the coating and cover glass was improved by 35%.

다층 박막을 이용한 패럴 단면의 무반사 코팅 설계 및 특성 (Design and Characteristics of Anti-reflection Coating using Multi-layer Thin Film on the Ferrule Facet)

  • In this paper, we have designed the anti-reflection(AR) coating for $1400{\sim}1600$ nm wavelength range on the ferrule facet of optical connector. The low-temperature ion-assisted deposition was applied to AR coating on the ferrule facet in order to avoid damage of optical connector. We have measured the refractive index of coating film($Ta_2O_5\;and\;SiO_2$) using the ellipsometer and optimized the film thickness using the SEM and thickness measurement equipment. UV-VIS-NIR spectrophotometer is used to measure transmissivity of the AR coated ferrule facet. The refractive index of $Ta_2O_5\;and\;SiO_2$ is $2.123{\sim}2.125$ and $1.44{\sim}1.442$, respectively, for $1400{\sim}1600$ nm wavelength range. The transmissivity of the AR coated ferule facet is more than 99.8 % for $1425{\sim}1575$ nm wavelength range and more than 99.5 % for $1400{\sim}1600$ nm wavelength range. The return loss of the AR coated ferrule facet is 30.1 dB.

상압 플라즈마 용사의 공정조건에 따른 세라믹 피막의 특성 (Effect of Processing Conditions for Atmospheric Plasma Spraying on Characteristics of Ceramic Coatings)

  • The characteristics of the high-performance ceramic coatings fabricated on the optimum processings con-ditions for the atmospheric plasma spraying are evaluated by various material tests and analyses. The opti-mum processing parameters for the plasma spraying are determined by using the two-level orthogonal arrays of fractional factorial testing method as a statistical approach. Material tests for the coating specimens are carried out to evaluate microstructure, hardness, adhesion strength, and deposition efficiency. The properties of Al2O3-13%TiO2 coating are discussed with regard to the effective processings parameters. The decarburization effects of WC-12%Co coating is examined by XRD analysis in terms of the arc power and the secondary gas species. The hardness of Al2O2-13%TiO2 coating is increased with the arc power and shows the maximum value at around 40 lpm of Ar gas flowrate, which appears to be the most critical parame-ter on the deposition efficiency. For reducing the decarburization of WC-12%Co coating, the injection of inert He gas instead of reactive H2 gas as a secondary gas is more effective than the dropping of arc power to lessen the plasma enthalpy.

주조공정에서의 벤젠 발생원 규명에 관한 연구 (A study on the Identification of Sources for Benzene Detected in the Casting Process)

  • The aim of this study was to identify the sources of benzene detected in airborne of casting workplace where benzene was not used as raw material. We have identified benzene by GC/FID and GC/MSD. In this pilot test, small size iron chamber(diameter 30 cm, height 20 cm) was used. As the raw materials, new sand, recovered sand, and mixed casting sand(new sand + solidifying agent + organic resin + coating material) was tested, respectively. In the new sand benzene was not detected, but in the recovered sand and the mixed casting sand was detected. Xylenesulfonic acid(solidifying agent), one of the mixed casting sand ingredients was thought to product benzene by thermal decomposition above $400^{\circ}$..., but the other raw materials(organic resin and coating material) were thought not to product benzene. In this experiment, the most of benzene by thermal decomposition was produced within 1 hour after pouring the iron solution($1560^{\circ}$...) in small size iron chamber. When the mixed casting sand with coating material was used, the concentration of the produced benzene was average 2.91 ppm(range 1.98~3.72 ppm), and without coating material, benzene concentration was average 0.11 ppm(range 0.08~0.14 ppm).

Microencapsulation of Caramel Flavor and Properties of Ready-to-drink Milk Beverages Supplemented with Coffee Containing These Microcapsules

  • This study aimed to extend the retention of flavor in coffee-containing milk beverage by microencapsulation. The core material was caramel flavor, and the primary and secondary coating materials were medium-chain triglyceride and maltodextrin, respectively. Polyglycerol polyricinoleate was used as the primary emulsifier, and the secondary emulsifier was polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurate. Response surface methodology was employed to determine optimum microencapsulation conditions, and headspace solid-phase microextraction was used to detect the caramel flavor during storage. The microencapsulation yield of the caramel flavor increased as the ratio of primary to secondary coating material increased. The optimum ratio of core to primary coating material for the water-in-oil (W/O) phase was 1:9, and that of the W/O phase to the secondary coating material was also 1:9. Microencapsulation yield was observed to be approximately 93.43%. In case of in vitro release behavior, the release rate of the capsules in the simulated gastric environment was feeble; however, the release rate in the simulated intestinal environment rapidly increased within 30 min, and nearly 70% of the core material was released within 120 min. The caramel flavor-supplemented beverage sample exhibited an exponential degradation in its flavor components. However, microcapsules containing flavor samples showed sustained flavor release compared to caramel flavor-filled samples under higher storage temperatures. In conclusion, the addition of coffee flavor microcapsules to coffee-containing milk beverages effectively extended the retention of the coffee flavor during the storage period.
