부산 영도 해안의 해수면 상승에 따른 침수대책 연구 (A Study on Flooding Prevention Scheme due to Sea Level Rise at Young-do Coast in Busan)

  • 기후변화로 인한 해수면 상승이 우리나라 연안에 장기적으로 큰 영향을 줄 것으로 예측되어 다양한 방법을 사용하여 연안에 대한 해수면 상승의 취약성 평가가 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 사면이 바다와 접해 해수에 의한 침수가 빈번하여 향후 해수면 상승에 의한 피해가 클 것으로 예상되는 부산의 영도 해안을 대상으로 해수면 상승이 해안에 미치는 영향을 알아보고 그 대책을 마련하였다. 먼저 잠재적 해수면 상승률을 바탕으로 CAD를 이용한 해수면 상승 시뮬레이션을 실시하였으며 다음으로 시뮬레이션결과를 바탕으로 침수범위와 재해위험 지역을 종합적으로 고려하여 피해 예상지역을 추출하였고 최종적으로 침수특성에 따라 지구별로 세분하여 해당 지구에 적합한 대응전략을 수립하였다.

고창군 광승리 연안 퇴적층의 퇴적 시기와 범람 기원 특성 (Burial Age and Flooding-origin Characteristics of Coastal Deposits at Gwangseungri, Gochanggun, Korea)

  • 고창군 광승리 지역의 해발고도 5 m 내외의 해안 지점(DH)과 해발고도 10-15 m의 단구 상부 지점(KS)에서 시료를 채취하여 화학 분석과 입도 분석 등을 통하여 퇴적 물질의 특성을 파악하였다. DH는 풍화된 기반암을 피복하는 적색 토양층으로 하부에서 상부로 가면서 물질 조성이 점진적으로 변화하였다. DH 시료 내에 점토광물이 포함되어 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 근거로 하여 이 층을 제자리 풍화층으로 판단하였다. KS의 경우 구릉의 말단부에 위치하는 자갈층을 피복하는 층으로 물질 조성이 전반적으로 DH 부분과 상당히 다른 것으로 나타났으며, 일부 구간에서 물질의 교란이 일어나거나 외부 물질의 유입이 있었던 것으로 추정되었다. 한편 입자의 입도에 있어서 KS 시료들은 현재의 해빈 물질과 다른 특성이 나타난다. KS의 하부는 해빈에 비하여 세립 물질로 나타났으며, 중간 부분은 해빈보다 조립 물질이다. KS 시료의 분급은 해빈에 비하여 나쁜 것으로 나타났으며, 이 퇴적층중 일부는 지속적인 파랑과 조류에 의한 것보다는 일시적인 고에너지 환경에서 퇴적된 것으로 추정된다. 한편 KS 부분 시료의 매몰 연대는 광여기루미네센스(OSL) 분석에 의하여 0.65-0.71 ka로 추정되었다. 추가적인 연구를 통해 해당 퇴적층과 형성 과정의 특성에 대해서는 명확히 밝혀져야 할 것이지만, 해당 퇴적층은 폭풍에 의한 연안 범람 퇴적층일 가능성이 높은 것으로 추정된다.

NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF COASTAL INUNDATION OVER DISCONTINUOUS TOPOGRAPHY

  • A new moving boundary technique for leap-frog finite difference numerical mode is proposed for the resonable simulation of coastal inundation over discontinuous topography. The new scheme improves the moving boundary technique developed by Imamura(1996). The present scheme is tested using the analytical solution of Thacker(1981) for the case of free oscillation with moving boundary in a parabolic bowl. Finally, a numerical simulation is conducted for the flooding over a tidal barrier constructed on a simple concave geometry. A general feature of inundation over a discontinuous topography is well described by the numerical model.

Chlorophyll content and the expression pattern of ERF transcription factor gene in leaves and roots of wild corn under flooding treatment

  • The origin of wild corn (teosinte) is distributed in the Northwest coastal pacific area of Central America, including Mexico, which is a wetland area of 5 to 6 months per year. Depending on these climate characteristics, wild corn is genetically resistant to flooding condition. In order to evaluate the availability of flooding resistant genes of these wild corns, we examined the physiological responses after the flooding treatment in the early stages of the growth of various wild corns. The difference of chlorophyll content between flooding untreatment and flooding treatments (untreated chlorophyll content - humidified chlorophyll content) was the highest in chlorophyll content in the case of B73, the common corn. In the middle leaf, $\underline{Zea}$ mays subsp. Parviglumis, Zea mays subsp. Mexicana, Zea mays subsp., Zea perennis decreased significantly. In the lower leaves, Zea mays sub and Zea nicaraguensis showed the lowest content compared to B73. PCR analysis was performed using 34 primers divided into two groups, top and bottom. In the wild corn, pyruvate decarboxylase 2 in root and alcohol dehydrogenase 1 in shoot showed the difference in the reaction.

시화호 연안습지 식생의 공간 분포 분석 (The Spatial Distribution Analysis of Coastal Wetland Vegetation in Sihwa Lake)

  • Human activity has been the major threat to wetlands. Agriculture, industrial development, and urban and suburban sprawl have caused the greatest losses of coastal wetlands. In fact, riceland agriculture, because of the flooding that goes with it, provides some additional wetland habitat not otherwise available. The biggest current source of loss for freshwater coastal wetlands is from urban sprawl. In this study, spatial analysis method such as landscape index were applied to Sihwa area in Ansan city. The SMA (Spectral Mixture Analysis) method using Landsat image showed the change distribution of wetland vegetation from 1996 to 2004. The southern part of Sihwa wetland have been changed with Suda japonica of 24% and reed vegetation of 34% on coastal wetland which were covered with tidal flat.

  • A study on the changes of the oceanographical environment caused by Mokpo coastal zone development was carried out. Special emphasis was placed on the clarification of the water level changes and coastal current structure and influence of the environmental factors on the coastal area. In order to understand the structure oceangraphical environemnt, such as water temperature, salinity, suspended solids, pH, dissolved oxygen, chemical oxygen demand, biochemical oxygen demand, distribution of bottom sediment, tide and current were measured. To investigated the structure of tide and current for the future development, a numerical analysis was carried out. In certain zones, it was found to be flooding problems near the lowlying commercial area.

영광군 백수읍 하사리 일대의 사질 퇴적층 특성과 매몰 연대에 대한 연구 (A Study on Characteristics and Burial Ages of Sand Deposits at Hasari, Baeksoo, Yeonggwang)

  • To investigate the characteristics of sand sediment topography in the Yeonggwang coastal area of Chonnam and to collect evidence of the past extreme events causing coastal flooding, three sites were surveyed among the sediments of Baeksoo-eup Hassari. In this study, the changes of particle characteristics, chemical composition, and the age of deposition of sediments were investigated. The sediments near Baeksoonam Elementary School at the elevation of 10m near the paleo-coastline are estimated to have been deposited at about 3,400 years ago and the grain size of the upper part of the sandy layer is in the range of $2.47-2.11{\varphi}$. The burial age of the sediment layer at Sadeung junction(BSN-B) was about 100 years. Considering the distance from the current coastline, the sands forming the dune are estimated to have been moved or deposited from the nearby area or the other dune on the front side. The mean grain size is observed to be fining upward. Especially, the mean of the upper part is about $2.3{\varphi}$, which is similar to other survey points. The averaged grain size of the lower part of the BSNC (Hasari-1 Gu) was $2.196{\varphi}$ and the upper part was $2.16{\varphi}$. The sorting showed that the upper part was slightly poorer than the lower, and it was difficult to specify the change of the environment. The burial age of the lower layer, which contains shells, was about 300 years. Considering previous studies, this shell layer is presumed to have formed by coastal flooding, such as a storm surge.

연안개발사업 유형에 따른 해양환경영향평가 개선방안 (Improvement for Marine Environmental Impact Assessment on the Coastal Development Project Type)

  • 본 연구에서는 2010년부터 2013년까지 4년간 연안개발사업에 따른 일반해역이용협의서 133건을 분석하여 사업유형별 해양환경영향평가 개선방안을 제시하였다. 침식방지사업은 정확한 침식원인 분석이 선행되어야 하고 주변 해안의 상태와 구조물 설치 시 추가적인 문제점 발생 가능성에 대해 정확히 예측해야 하며, 사업시행 후 사후모니터링을 통한 침식방지 효과를 입증하는 체계적인 시스템이 마련되어야 한다. 호안 및 해안도로 건설사업의 경우, 무분별한 해안도로의 건설은 지양하고 구조물 안정성을 충분히 검토하여야 하며 반사파 증가에 따른 해안침식의 문제점을 함께 검토해야 한다. 그리고 침수방지 사업은 평가항목에 파랑을 선정할 필요가 있고 이상 파랑의 영향을 함께 고려해야 한다. 친수공간 조성사업은 종합적이고 체계적인 공간계획이 수립되어야 하고, 자연환경을 최대한 보전하고 자연과 융화될 수 있는 개발이 될 수 있도록 검토를 강화해야 할 것이다. 아울러 연안개발사업과 관련하여 많은 문제점이 내재되어있어 법 제도적 측면에서의 지원과 함께 추후 해역별, 사업별 특성이 다양하게 반영된 추가적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

Land Subsidence Survey and Analysis Using the Terrestrial LIDAR in Jakarta Bay, Indonesia

  • Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia which has problems of land subsidence with the rates of about 1 to 15 cm/year, up to 20-25 cm/year. The study has examined the land subsidence in Pantai Mutiara, Jakarta Bay which is a reclaimed area by using the Terrestrial LIDAR survey technique. The Terrestrial LIDAR survey results show that the survey site has mean elevation of 0.24 m with the highest elevation of 0.93 m and lowest - 0.35 m. Considering that AHHW (approximate highest high water) is 0.51 m, many areas of the survey site are lying below the AHHW. Pantai Mutiara area is showing various subsidence rates depending on sites although the site is relatively narrow and small (about 1 $km^2$). There is elevation differences of almost 1m within the site. In this study, key information including topography, dike height distribution, and future coastal flooding risk of the survey area was able to be provided by Terrestrial LIDAR survey conducted only once. Especially, as the 3D precision topography effectively conveys important messages relating to vulnerability of the site, policy makers and stakeholders can easily understand the situation of the site.

A study of aerodynamic pressures on elevated houses

  • In coastal residential communities, especially along the coastline, flooding is a frequent natural hazard that impacts the area. To reduce the adverse effects of flooding, it is recommended to elevate coastal buildings to a certain safe level. However, post storm damage assessment has revealed severe damages sustained by elevated buildings' components such as roofs, walls, and floors. By elevating a structure and creating air gap underneath the floor, the wind velocity increases and the aerodynamics change. This results in varying wind loading and pressure distribution that are different from their slab on grade counterparts. To fill the current knowledge gap, a large-scale aerodynamic wind testing was conducted at the Wall of Wind experimental facility to evaluate the wind pressure distribution over the surfaces of a low-rise gable roof single-story elevated house. The study considered three different stilt heights. This paper presents the observed changes in local and area averaged peak pressure coefficients for the building surfaces of the studied cases. The aerodynamics of the elevated structures are explained. Comparisons are done with ASCE 7-16 and AS/NZS 1170.2 wind loading standards. For the floor surface, the study suggests a wind pressure zoning and pressure coefficients for each stilt height.
