Study on the Development of Linearity of Broad-Band SDLVA Using Clamping Op-Amp (Clamping Op-Amp를 이용한 광대역 로그 비디오 증폭기의 선형성 개선에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes a design and fabrication of SDLVA. The SDLVA operates 0.5~2.0 GHz with -70~0 dBm dynamic range. The SDLVA is consisted of 5-stage RF block, 2-stage detector block and summation circuit using clamping op-amp to improve video linearity. The result of measure, SDLVA of RF path has over 73 dB small-signal gain and 10.1~12.2 dBm saturation power. The video path has 25 mV/ dB${\pm}$1.0 mV and under ${\pm}$1.5 dB video linearity.

Construction of cDNA Library and EST Analysis Related to Seed-hair Characteristics in Carrot (당근 종모 형질 관련 cDNA Library 작성 및 EST 분석)

  • Carrot (Daucus carota L. var. sativa) is one of the most widely used crops in the world and is nutritionally important crop. However, seed-hair which is generated in epidermal cell of seeds causes the difficulty of the seedling process, because of the seed germination and absorption inhibitions. For these reasons, carrot seeds are commercialized after mechanical hair removal process. However, in this process, various damage and seed loss occur and breeding of hairless-seed carrot cultivar is needed to overcome these various weaknesses and additional seed production costs. In this study, cDNA libraries using 2 combinations, which were composed of short-hair seed CT-ATR 615 OP 666-13 & long-hair seed CT-ATR 615 OP 671-9, and short-hair seed CT-SMR 616 OP 659-1 & long-hair seed CT-SMR 616 OP 677-14, were constructed and EST sequences of each individuals were analyzed to reveal carrot seed-hair characteristics. Firstly, analyzed EST sequences were classified into FunCat functional categories. As a result, significant differences have been identified in metabolism category, protein folding and stabilization, protein binding, C-compound binding category from both of two combinations. Secondly, several candidate EST sequences related to seed trichome differentiation and cellulose biosynthetic process were selected based on GO data of EST sequences. These differences based on FunCat categories and candidate EST obtained by GO data analysis are thought to be involved in the formation of carrot seed hair. Finally, 741 SSR sites and 33 SNP sites were identified from analyzed EST sequences of two combinations. Then we designed SNP and SSR primer sets to develop molecular markers. These molecular markers will be used for classification of carrot cultivars and study seed-hair characteristic.

  • Power semiconductor devices had been producted with bipolar only processes, but Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS(BCD) processes have been adapted recently to fabricate these devices since most foundry companies have provided BCD processes instead of Bipolar only processes. In this study, Regulator and OP Amp are used as most popular design IPs and BCD processes for the designing are converted from bipolar only processes. Power Switching Sensor(PSS) ICs are designed specifically and fabricated on a silicon chip. The operation results of the packaged chip show the good matching with test results of the simulation.

Effects of Food Grade Porcine Pancreatic Lipase on Neutral Volatile Compound Profiles in Cheddar Cheese (식용 돼지췌장 리파제가 체다치즈의 중성 휘발성 성분 생산에 미치는 영향)

  • Effects of commercial food grade porcine pancreatic lipase on the neutral volatile compounds in Cheddar cheese were studied The enzyme was incorporated into the cheese at two different levels of concentration and ripened at various temperatures. The production of 2-butanone increased at higher amount of lipase and higher temperature, but the production of 2-pentanone was inconsistent trends during ripening periods. The concentration of acetaldehyde was the highest among aldehydes and was increased consistently during ripening Periods. In alcohol production ethanol was the most abundant but no further consistent trend was observed after 6 wk. The production of ethyl butyrate was the most abundant ester and related io lipase activities as well as ripening temperatures. Dimethyl sulfide was the only sulfur compound and appeared not to be related to the addition of lipase or ripening temperatures . Statistical analysis suggested that ethyl butyrate was most correlated to aged Cheddar flavor during cheese ripening.

Effects of Commercial Food Grade Enzyme on Acceleration of Ripening in U.F. Cheese Base Slurries (효소 첨가가 U.F. 치즈베이스 slurries의 숙성촉진에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate biochemical characteristics of enzyme-added cheese base slurries during accelerated ripening. Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) soluble nitrogen of cheese base slurries increased rapidly during the first day of ripening and the rate of increase slowed down thereafter. Cheese base slurries showed lower level in the production of the nitrogen than Cheddar cheese slurries. Producctions of phosphotungstic (PTA) soluble amino nitrogen also showed similar trends as TCA soluble nitrogen. Electrophoresis revealed that all caseins in both cheese base slurries and Cheddar cheese slurries were hydrolyzed, but whey proteins in cheese base slurries were little hydrolyzed. Cheese base slurries produced free amino acids little more than half of Cheddar cheese slurries. Both slurries showed similar increasing trend in production of short-chain free fatty acids. The specificity of the fatty acids in the slurries was similar to that of natural ripened cheese. The results of this study showed that addition of enzyme was effective to accelerate cheese base ripening.

  • Commercial food grade porcine-pancreatic lipase was incorporated into cheese at two different levels of concentration and ripened at $7^{\circ},\;13^{\circ}\;and\;21^{\circ}C$ Gas chromatographic analysis showed that the pancreatic lipase-treated cheese produced significantly higher levels of short-chain free fatty acids than controls. At $21^{\circ}C$ the high level of pancreatic lipase-treated cheese produced medium flavor cheese at 1 wk and close to sharp flavor cheese at 3 wk without causing distinctive defects. The low level of pancreatic lipase-treated cheese developed a number of good quality cheese. They were roughly equivalent to medium and sharp cheeses when ripened at $7^{\circ},\;13^{\circ}\;and\;21^{\circ}C$ for 3 to 15wk. Statistical analyses indicated that there were significant correlations between aged Cheddar flavor and the concentration of c6 as individual short chain free fatty acids (FFA) or C4 and C6 FFA combinations. Pancreatic lipase may be applicable for the accelerated ripening of Cheddar cheese if appropriate conditions are used.

  • To analyze the components of dense coat fractions associated with fat globule membrane, The membrane was treated with various concentrations of Triton X-100, a non-ionic detergent, and the composition of lipids associated to the detergent insoluble material was analyzed. The amount of protein, phospholipid, cholesterol and ganglioside in milk fat globule membrane was reduced consistently with increasing concentrations of Triton X-100. Butyrophilin (band 12), xanthine oxidase (band 3) and band 16 as constituents of insoluble coat materials was revealed after electrophorisis on SDS-polyacrylamide gels. Phosphatidyl ethanolamine, phosphatidyl choline, phosphatidyl serine, phosphatidyl inositol and sphingomyelin were identified as the major phospholipids of the coat materials without selective concentration relative to the original membranes. Percentages of total phospholipid were not changed by any of the treatments. Fatty acids of total lipid were myristate, palmitate, stearate (major saturated acids), oleate and linoleate (major unsaturated acids). Cholesterol contents on a protein basis were slightly reduced with increasing concentrations of Triton X-100. Cholesterol adhered to protein more tightly than other constituents The contents of gangliosides was proportionally refuted with increasing concentration of Triton X-100.

Rubus fruticosus leaf extract inhibits vascular dementia-induced memory impairment and neuronal loss by attenuating neuroinflammation

  • Vascular dementia (VaD) is characterized by progressive memory impairment, which is associated with microglia-mediated neuroinflammation. Polyphenol-rich natural plants, which possess anti-inflammatory activities, have attracted scientific interest worldwide. This study investigated whether Rubus fruticosus leaf extract (RFLE) can attenuate VaD. Sprague-Dawley rats were separated into five groups: SO, sham-operated and treated with vehicle; OP, operated and treated with vehicle; RFLE-L, operated and treated with low dose (30 mg/kg) of RFLE; RFLE-M, operated and treated with medium dose (60 mg/kg) of RFLE; and RFLE-H, operated and treated with high dose (90 mg/kg) of RFLE. Bilateral common carotid artery and hypotension were used as a modeling procedure, and the RFLE were intraorally administered for 5 days (preoperative 2 and postoperative 3 days). The rats then underwent memory tests including the novel object recognition, Y-maze, Barnes maze, and passive avoidance tests, and neuronal viability and neuroinflammation were quantified in their hippocampi. The results showed that the OP group exhibited VaD-associated memory deficits, neuronal death, and microglial activation in hippocampi, while the RFLE-treated groups showed significant attenuation in all above parameters. Next, using BV-2 microglial cells challenged with lipopolysaccharide (LPS), we evaluated the effects of RFLE in dynamics of proinflammatory mediators and the upstream signaling pathway. RFLE pretreatment significantly inhibited the LPS-induced release of nitric oxide, TNF-α, and IL-6 and upregulation of the MAPKs/NF-κB/iNOS pathway. Collectively, we suggest that RFLE can attenuate the histologic alterations and memory deficits accompanied by VaD, and these roles are, partly due to the attenuation of microglial activation.

  • We designed 10bit source driver LSI, then the high color depth and the low power consumption are realized thru it. It is adopted mini-LVDS receiver with high speed data transmission and good data recovery performance, Hybrid type DAC to reduce decoder size and OP-AMP with low power consumption and high slew rate. In addition we show our results of the 10-bit gray scale TFT-LCD source driver for 42inch diagonal size and WXGA resolution TFT-LCD TV applications.

  • 전기전자 기술발달에 따라 여러 가지 형태의 전기전자 부품이 많이 사용되고 있다. 이러한 전기전자 부품은 트랜지스터, Op Amp 등의 능동소자와 저항, 캐패시터, 리액터 등의 수동소자로 구분할 수 있다. 능동소자의 경우에는 사용용도에 따라 대부분 제조사에서 명확한 사양을 제공하지만, 수동소자의 경우는 명확한 사양을 제공하지 못하는 부품들도 있다. 정격범위를 명확히 제시하지 못하는 소자에 대표적으로 리액터가 있으며, 경우에 따라 정격에 미달하는 수준의 제품도 유통되고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문은 리액터 설계사양에 해당하는 철심의 자속밀도에 대한 실제 제품의 자속밀도포화 여부를 확인할 수 있는 기기의 동작설명과 그 실험결과를 제시한다.
