$In_2O_3$ 박막위에 증착된 초박막 촉매가 CO의 검출 감도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Ultra-thin Catalyst Deposited upon $In_2O_3$ Thin Film on CO Sensitivity)

  • CO 가스 감지를 위한 두께 500-600 nm $In_2O_3$를 기저 물질로한 박막센서를 rf magnetron 방법을 이용하여 제작하였다. CO가스에 대한 감도 향상 및 -CH가 포함된 탄화수소 가스들과의 선택성을 높이기 위해 전이 금속인 Cobalt 촉매를 rf sputtering을 이용하여 초박막 형태로 0.7-2.8 nm 까지 두께를 조절하여 증착하고 $500^{\circ}C$ 열처리 후 가스 감도 특성을 조사하였다. CO에 대한 감도는 Co 두께 2.1 nm, 작동온도 $350^{\circ}C$에서 가장 우수하였고, $350^{\circ}C{\sim}400^{\circ}C$, Co (1.4 nm) 에서 $C_3H_8$에 대한 감도가 우수함을 알 수 있었다. 광전자 분석법 (x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy;XPS)을 통하여 초박막 Co가 표면이 $Co_2O_3$가 덮어진 CoO 형태로 존재함을 알 수 있었고, $(n-type)In_2O_3$-(p-type)CoO의 p-n junction 이 형성되었음을 확인하였다. 이러한 p-n junction type 가스센서에는 접합 경계면에서 형성된 전하 공핍층 (depletion layer)의 두께 변화에 따른 저항 변화에 의해 환원성 가스에 대한 감응 기구 (sensing mechanism)를 설명할 수 있었다.

  • We have setup a compact and useful in-situ SMOKE system in order to study surface magnetism of ultra-thin films. Since the longitudinal or polar magnetic fields can be applied to the sample by just rotating the sample manipulator, It is very simple to take hysteresis curve for in-plane or polar surface magnetism. The SMOKE system was tested by investigating the surface magnetism of ultra-thin Co film deposited on Pt(111) surface.

Preparation and Oxygen Binding Properties of Ultra-Thin Polymer Films Containing Cobalt(II) meso-Tetraphenylporphyrin via Plasma Polymerization

  • Ultra-thin polymer films containing cobalt(II) meso-tetraphenylporphyrin(CoTPP) have been prepared by vacuum codeposition of the metal complex and trans-2-butene as an organic monomer using an inductively coupled RF glow discharge operating at 7-9 Watts. The polymer films were characterized by sorption measurements. Sorption data obtained for polymer films containing CoTPP indicate that the CoTPP molecules are capable of reversibly binding oxygen molecules. It was found that the adjacent CoTPP molecules in the aggregated metal complex phase could irreversibly share the oxygen molecules. A dispersion of the metal complex molecules in the polymer matrix was made to maintain the reversible reactivity of the metal complex molecules with oxygen in the polymer films via vacuum evaporation process. The Henry mode solubility constant, the Langmuir mode capacity constant, the amount of binding oxygen, and the dissociation equilibrium in the dual mode sorption theory were discussed.

  • BSCCO thin films are fabricated via a co-deposition process at an ultra-low growth rate using ion beam sputtering. The sticking coefficient of Bi element exhibits a characteristic temperature dependence. This temperature dependence of the sticking coefficient was explained consistently on the basis of the evaporation and sublimation processes of Bi$_2$O$_3$.

  • Crystallographic and magnetic characteristics of CoCr-based magnetic thin film for perpendicular magnetic recording media were influenced on preparing conditions. In these, there is that substrate temperature was parameter that increases perpendicular coercivity of CoCrTa magnetic layer using recording layer. While preparation of CoCr-based doublelayer, by optimizing substrate temperature, we expect to increase perpendicular anisotropy of CoCr magnetic layer and prepare ferromagnetic recording layer with a good quality by epitaxial growth. CoCrTa/Si doublelayer showed a good dispersion angle of c-axis orientation $\Delta$$\theta$$_{50}$ caused by inserting amorphous Si underlayer which prepared at underlayer substrate temperature 250C. Perpendicular coercivity was constant, in-plane coercivity was controlled a low value about 2000e. This result implied that Si underlayer could restrain growth of initial layer of CoCrTa thin film, which showed bad magnetic properties effectively without participating magnetization patterns of magnetic layer. In case of CoCrTa/Si that prepared with ultra thin underlayer, crystalline orientation of CoCrTa was improved rather underlayer thickness 1nm, it was expected that amorphous Si layer played a important role in not only underlayer but also seed layer.t also seed layer.r.

비정질 CoZrNb 박막의 불균일 구조와 고주파 자기특성에 관한 연구 (Study on Heterogeneous Structures and High-Frequency Magnetic Properties Amorphous CoZrNb Thin Films)

  • 스퍼터링에 의해 형성된 비정질 Co/sub 87/Zr/sub 4/Nb/sub 9/ 박막을 TEM과 EDS로 분석하여 박막의 구조적 그리고 저성적 불균일성을 관찰하였다. 특히 기판 bias를 가한 상태에서 제조된 박막을 회전 자장 열처리했을 때는 Co-rich 지역과 (Zrnb) oxied-rich 지역의 조대한 조직으로 분리되었으며, 이러한 박 막의 자기적 특성은 'ultra-soft'한 성질을 나타내었다. Ulta-soft함 박막은 H/sub c/=0.18 Oe, H/sub k/ = 0.55 Oe, M/sub r//M/sub s/=0.75의 자기적 특성과 overdamping된 고주파특성, 그리고 외부자계에 대한 자화율 변화곡선이 가역적이고 연속적이라는 특이한 현상을 보인다. 조성적으로 불균일한 박막의 ultra-soft 한 특성은 Co-rich 입자들이 exchange coupling energy와 magnetostatic coupling energy를 최소화 하기 위해 만드는 vortex형의 자화분포로써 설명되었다. 즉 vortex 는 여러개의 co-rich 입자들로 형성 되어있는 것으로 추정되며, 수평, 수직방향으로의 반자장 계수(demagnetizing factor)가 각각 flux closure 와 flux reversal에 의해 무시되기 때문에 vortex로 부터 CoZrNb 박막의 ultra-soft 특성을 설명할 수 있었다.

Thickness-dependent magnetic domain structures of Co ultra-thin film investigated by scanning transmission X-ray microscopy

  • Thickness-dependent magnetic domain structure of ultrathin Co wedge films (0.3 nm-1.0 nm) sandwiched by Pt layers was investigated by scanning transmission x-ray microscopy (STXM) employing X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD), utilizing elliptically polarized soft x-rays and electromagnetic fields, with a spatial resolution of 50 nm. The magnetic domain images measured at the Co $L_3$ edge showed the evolution of the magnetic domain structures from maze-like form to the bubble-like form as the perpendicular magnetic field was applied. The asymmetric domain expansion of a 500 nm-scale bubble domain was also measured when the in-plane and perpendicular external magnetic field were applied simultaneously.

Bi 고온 초전도 박막의 부착 공정 (Sticking processing of Bi high $T_c$ superconducting thin films)

  • Bismuth high Tc superconducting thin films are fabricated via a co-deposition process by an ion beam sputtering with an ultra low growth rate, and sticking processing of the respective elements are evaluated. The sticking processing of bismuth element in bismuth high Tc superconducting thin film formation was observed to show a unique temperature dependence; it was almost a constant value of 0.49 below about $730^{\circ}C$ and decreased linearly over about $730^{\circ}C$. This temperature dependence can be elucidated from the evaporation and sublimation rates of bismuth oxide, $Bi_2O_3$, from the film surface. It is considered that the liquid phase of the bismuth oxide plays an important role in the bismuth phase formation in the co-deposition process.
