Golf ball spin rate after impact with club is created by the contact force, which is greatly influenced by ball and club mass, material, impact speed, and club loft angle. Previous studies showed that the contact force is determined as the resultant force of the reaction forces normal and tangential to the club face at the contact point. The normal force causes the compression and restitution of the ball, and the tangential force creates the spin. Especially, the tangential force takes either positive or negative values as the ball rolls and slides along the club face during impact. Although the positive and negative tangential forces are known to create and reduce the back spin rate, respectively, the mechanism of ball spin creation has not yet been discussed in detail. It is shown in this work that the linear impulse of the tangential force is directly related to generation of back spin rate of golf ball. The linear impulse can be calculated from the tangential force, which depends upon many factors such as ball and club mass, material, impact speed, and club loft angle. In this research, the influence of the contact force between golf club and ball is investigated to analyze the mechanism of impact. For this purpose, the contact force and the contact time at impact between golf club head and ball are computed using FEM.

This paper concerns stress distribution of the soft golf clubs using FEM. The identification of the stress distribution of the soft golf clubs used the finite element method using ABAQUS. The soft golf clubs which were designated is a new golf clubs to keep a good health for the elderly. To design the soft golf clubs, we concerns two main purpose ; First, our efforts concentrate to reduce the weight of the soft golf clubs. We considers the change of material and geometry of the golf club‘s head and shaft. Second, it is to increase the size and shape of 'sweet spot' of the soft golf club’s head face. To accomplish this purpose, we made the various type of the soft golf club's head. In this paper, we simulates putter models of the soft golf clubs. The pre-processing which generates the mesh of the model used HyperMesh with geometry data by CATIA ver 5.0 This paper compares the stress distribution of putter type which was loaded.
It is important to improve the initial launch conditions of golf ball at impact between golf club and ball to get a long flight distance. The flight distance is greatly influenced by the initial launch conditions such as ball speed, launch angle and back spin rate. It is also important to analyze the mechanism of ball spin to improve the initial conditions of golf ball. Back spin rate is created by the contact time and force. Previous studies showed that the contact force is determined as the resultant force of the reaction forces normal and tangential to the club face at the contact point. In this paper, the influence of the contact force between golf club and ball is investigated to analyze the mechanism of impact. For this purpose, the contact force and time at impact between golf club head and ball are computed using FEM and compared with previous results. In addition, we investigate the impact phenomenon between golf club head and ball by FEM and clarify the mechanism of ball spin creation accurately, particularly focusing on the effect of negative tangential force on ball spin rate.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the ball velocity changes depending on the different linear momentum of putter head. For this study, two different moving conditions(25cm free fall and 35cm free fall) of putter head were set. And two different types of ground conditions were used which are artificial grass green($180cm{\times}600cm{\times}1cm$) and glass green($40cm{\times}130cm{\times}1cm$). Movements of putter head and ball were recorded with 2 HD video cameras(60 Hz, 1/500s shutter speed). Small size control object($18.5cm{\times}18.5cm{\times}78.5cm$) was used in this study. Ball and putter head velocities were calculated by the First Central Difference Method(Hamill & Knutzen, 1995). Linear momentum of ball and putter head were calculated with mass and its velocities. Before impact, the velocity of the putter head of 35cm free fall was about 30% greater than that of the putter head of 25cm free fall. Linear momentum of putter head of 35cm free fall was about 0.355-0.364kg m/s and 25cm free fall was 0.251 kg m/s. After impact, putter head lost its linear momentum about 14-19% and adjusting time of putter head after impact would be 0.1 second. After 0.1 second, putter moved the route same as before impact. Maximum ball velocities were appeared 0.08s-0.10s after impact no matter what the ground conditions are. Ball velocities struck by 35cm free fall were 30 % faster than 25cm free fall. Linear momentum of ball struck by putter head was greater than that of expected amount because the moving ball has translational energy and rotational energy. Future study must treat three things. One is ball must struck by the different putters with different materials. Another is two-piece ball and three-piece ball should be used for the same condition studies. The other is height of center of rotation of club should be changed. In this study, the height of center of rotation of club head is 71cm from the ground. But recently many golfers used the long putter. Therefore next study should apply the different height of center of rotation of club head.
Purpose: The purposes of this study were to develop a drum club activities program for soldiers and to explore the effects of the program on the mental health of soldiers. Methods: This study used one group pretest-posttest design. A drum club activities program for soldiers was offered for 12 weeks with each session of 2 hours. A total of 33 participants were recruited but eighteen participants who did not participate in sessions of the program more than 3 times were dropped out of the study. Finally, data from 15 participants were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 program. Mental health status (stress, anxiety and aggression) was measured by Vibraimage technology. Vibraimage technology is a useful and objective method to identify the human psychophysiological state by analyzing the movement of various frequencies and amplitudes of head motion and face image using camera. Results: There is statistically significant difference in anxiety (Z=-3.12, p<.001) after implementation of the program. However, there was no statistically significant difference in stress and aggression. Conclusion: The results indicate that the drum club activities program was effective in decreasing anxiety in soldiers. The drum club activities program can be considered as a possible nursing intervention strategy to reduce anxiety for soldiers.
The purpose of this research was to conduct an analysis on the factors that determine the distance at the time of target swing based on the use of late hitting of outstanding college golfers to verify the difference between late hitting and the distance that target increases in regular swing and the distance. Then, this research conducts an analysis on the correlation between club head velocity, ball velocity, launch angle, back spin, meet ratio and distance that become kinematics variables at the time of target swing. To attain the above mentioned purpose, 25 outstanding college players with average experience and handicap of 6 years and 5, respectively, were targeted Comparative analysis on two swing that target increase in regular and the distance was conducted by used driver. When it pertained to two types of swing. analysis system comprised of an analytical software called the Science Eye of the Bridgestone and peripheries was used to define the relationship between variables of club head velocity, ball velocity, launch angle, back spin, meet ratio that become kinematics variables. As for the method of processing data pertaining to the factors that determine the distance, differences of distance by the type of swing was verified by using independent T-test that leveraged SPSS 120 statistics program. Moreover, level of correlation between variables that contribute to the increase in distance through relation of correlation, and analysis of tendencies was conducted to analyze tendency of non-distance to increase in accordance to the increase of each variable. Key results produced through this experiment are as follows: 1. Artificial late hitting for increased non-distance that targets skilled players had effect on increased the distance(p<. 05). 2 The drive distance is correlated with each measured variable that is positive correlation to ball velocity, club head velocity, meet ratio and relation of back spin and launch angle are negative correlation. ball velocity and club head velocity are very high correlated with drive distance(p<.01), back spin and distance are negative correlation(p<.01). 3. Among each measured variable increasing the club velocity is the most contribution, and ball velocity and meet ratio and the increasing launch angle and back spin is negative effect for increasing distance.
The deformation behavior of a bulk amorphous and crystallized amorphous $Zr_{22.5}Ti_{14}Cu_{12.5}Ni_{10}Be_{22.5}$ alloy extracted from a commercial golf club head was characterized at room temperature ana $300^{\circ}C$. At room temperature, amorphous specimens revealed higher yield stress and ductility than partially crystallized alloy specimens. Amorphous alloy displayed some plasticity before fracture, which resulted from strain hardening and repeated crack initiation and propagation. The fracture is mainly localized on one major shear band, and the compressive fracture angle of the amorphous specimen between the stress axis and the fracture plane was about $40^{\circ}$ Scanning electron microscope observations revealed mainly a vein-like structure in the amorphous alloy But the fracture surface of partially crystallized amorphous alloy consisted of vein-like and featureless fracture structure. The partially crystallized alloy extracted from the thick part of the club fractured in the elastic region, at a much lower stress level than the amorphous, suggesting that relatively coarse crystal particles formed during cooling cause the brittle fracture.
Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) is one of the most effective method in design of golf clubs for determination of optimum shapes in short lead time. A new design of golf club drive with gas-filled titanium head has been carried out using two FEM softwares MARC and DYNA-3D. The main research work focuses on the decision of face thickness and the effect of filled gas pressure by analyzing the change of the kinematic energy of the ball during impact.
