  • In this study a new pattern of pressure control of hydraulic cylinder using high speed On-Off solenoid valve in the electro-hydraulic system has been suggested. The control valve is 3-way high speed On-Off solenoid valve which is operated by PWM(Pulse Width Modulation)control signal. The high speed On-Off solenoid valve has a tendency to induce severe pressure fluctuation in the hydraulic actuator so it has not been used for the purpose of closed loop control with direct pres-sure feedback. In this study closed loop control with direct pressure feedback is enabled by using a digital filter which has linear minimum mean square filter algorithm. Through some experiments it is confirmed that stable pressure control can be realized by the proposed control technique.

  • The closed-loop system modeling of an Active/semiactive suspension system has been accomplished through an artificial neural Networks. The 7DOF full model as the system equation of motion has been derived and the output feedback linear quadratic regulator has been designed for the control purpose. For the neural networks training set of a sample data has been obtained through the computer simulation. A 7DOF full model with LQR controller simulated under the several road conditions such as sinusoidal bumps and the rectangular bumps. A general multilayer perceptron neural network is used for the dynamic modeling and the target outputs are feedback to the input layer. The Backpropagation method is used as the training algorithm. The modeling of system and the model validation have been shown through computer simulations.

  • In this paper, the power system stabilizer(PSS) using the sliding mode observer-model following(SMO-MF) with closed-loop feedback (CLF) for single machine system is extended to multimachine system. This a multimachine SMO-MF PSS for unmeasureable plant state variable is obtained by combining the sliding mode-model following(SM-MF) including closed-loop feedback(CLF) with the full-order observer(FOO). And the estimated control input for unmeasurable plant sate variables is derived by Lyapunov's second method to determine a control input that keeps the system stable. Time domain simulation results for the torque angle and for the angular velocity show that the proposed multimachine SMO-MF PSS including CLF for unmeasurable plant sate variables is able to damp out the low frequency oscillation and to achieve asymptotic tracking error between the reference model state at different initial conditions and at step input.

  • A new method for the design of predictive controllers for SISO systems is presented. The proposed technique allows uncertainties and constraints to be concluded in the design of the control law. The goal is to design, at each sample instant, a predictive feedback control law that minimizes a performance measure and guarantees of constraints are satisfied for a set of models that describes the system to be controlled. The predictive controller consists of a finite horizon parametric-optimization problem with an additional constraint over the manipulated variable behavior. This is an end-constraint based approach that ensures the exponential stability of the closed-loop system. The inclusion of this additional constraint, in the on-line optimization algorithm, enables robust stability properties to be demonstrated for the closed-loop system. This is the case even though constraints and disturbances are present. Finally, simulation results are presented using a nonlinear continuous stirred tank reactor model.

  • In this paper we present an algorithmic technique for determining a feedback compensator which will stabilize the interval dynamic system specifically the robust regulator design for interval plants. The approach taken here is to allow the system parameters to live within prescribed intervals then design a dynamic feedback compensator which guarantees closed-loop system stable. The main contribution of this paper is the idea of introducting a "simplified Kharitonov`s results" for low order polynomials to search for suitable compensator parameters in the compensator parammeter space to make the uncertain system robust. We also design the robust regulator which will $D_{\phi}$ -stabilize (have the closed-loop poles in the left sector only) the dynamic interval system while having good performance. the numerical examples are given to show the substantially improved robustness which results from our approach.

  • The robust non-fragile guaranteed cost control problem is studied in this paper for class of uncertain linear large-scale systems with time-varying delays in subsystem interconnections and given quadratic cost functions. The uncertainty in the system is assumed to be norm-hounded arid time-varying. Also, the state-feedback gains for subsystems of the large-scale system are assumed to have norm-bounded controller gain variations. The problem is to design state feedback control laws such that the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable and the closed-loop cost function value is not more than a specified upper bound far all admissible uncertainties. Sufficient conditions for the existence of such controllers are derived based on the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach combined with the Lyapunov method. A parameterized characterization of the robust non-fragile guaranteed cost contrellers is 7iven in terms of the feasible solution to a certain LMI. Finally, in order to show the application of the proposed method, a numerical example is included.

  • This paper proposes a dynamic compensation scheme for input-constrained feedback linearizable nonlinear systems to cope with the windup phenomenon. Given a feedback linearizing controller for such a nonlinear system designed without considering its input constraint, an additional dynamic compensator is proposed to account for the constraint. This dynamic anti-windup is based on the minimization of a reasonable performance index, and some stability properties of the resulting closed-loop are presented.

  • A method to construct a memoryless feedback law for systems with multiple time-delays in the states is proposed. As a plant model, a differential-difference equation with multiple delayed terms is introduced, A stabilizability condition by memoryless feedback is presented. A feedback gain is calculated with a solution of a finite dimensional Riccati equation. It is shown that the resulting closed loop system is asymptotically stable, and moreover, it is a linear quadratic regulator for some cost functional. An alternative stabilizability condition which is easier to check is given.

  • A convenient, tunable loop-gain negative impedance circuit that increases input impedance of a front-end in a bioimpedance measurement has been proposed. Since the proposed circuit comprises wide-band operational amplifiers, selecting operational amplifiers is easy, while an operational amplifier of proper bandwidth should be chosen to use conventional circuit. Also, since loop-gain can be controlled by a feedback resistor connected serially with a feedback capacitor, loop-gain is tunable with a potentiometer. The input impedance of the proposed circuit is two times larger than that of the conventional circuit. Furthermore, closed loop phase response of the proposed circuit is better than that of the conventional circuit or without a negative capacitance circuit. The implemeted, proposed circuit showed stable operation and a zero input capacitance.
