Background: Latent tuberculosis (TB) infection among TB contacts is diagnosed using plain chest radiography and interferon-gamma release assays (IGRAs). However, plain chest radiographs often miss active TB, and the results of IGRA could fluctuate over time. The purpose of this study was to elucidate changes in the results of the serial IGRAs and in the findings of the serial submillisievert chest computed tomography (CT) scans among the close contacts of active pulmonary TB patients. Methods: Patients age 20 or older with active pulmonary TB and their close contacts were invited to participate in this study. Two types of IGRA (QuantiFERON-TB Gold In-Tube assay [QFT-GIT] and the T-SPOT.TB test [T-SPOT]) and submillisievert chest CT scanning were performed at baseline and at 3 and 12 months after enrollment. Results: In total, 19 close contacts participated in this study. One was diagnosed with active pulmonary TB and was excluded from further analysis. At baseline, four of 18 contacts (22.2%) showed positive results for QFT-GIT and T-SPOT; there were no discordant results. During the follow-up, transient and permanent positive or negative conversions and discordant results between the two types of IGRAs were observed in some patients. Among the 17 contacts who underwent submillisievert chest CT scanning, calcified nodules were identified in seven (41.2%), noncalcified nodules in 14 (82.4%), and bronchiectasis in four (23.5%). Some nodules disappeared over time. Conclusion: The results of the QFT-GIT and T-SPOT assays and the CT images may change during 1 year of observation of close contacts of the active TB patients.

This paper presents improvement of consumer's access and convenience to Farmers Market(Local Food Shop). We analyzed case studies and proposed plans of Local Food Shop and related facilities. The results are described below. Thorough pre-education and public relations with extensive support for agricultural products in the area and external support are necessary. Most importantly, the consuming population was close. These factors were the factors of success. Tourists' visit is effective. Consumer distance should be within 10km. Long distance tourists need a way to attract tourists on weekends. It is an advantage that there are many consumers. And it would be nice to have a market in the vicinity. And it is necessary to develop various activities such as experience activities and programs. Also, a place convenient for cooperation with the government office, public health center, etc. is good. Accessibility is enhanced when ICs of frequent highway and highway are close to cars. As a suggestion of placing a direct sales place, we will set up a place for consumers to collaborate and relax and also consider the convenience of providers. For the convenience of consumers' shopping, including sales outlets, we set up booths for daily necessities and industrial products, and place other agricultural cooperatives (NACF banks), local cafes and farmer restaurants in front. Consider multifunction combined service center for consumers and farmers.
The check valves are mechanical valves that permit fluids to flow in only one direction, preventing flow from reversing. It is classified as one way directional valves. There are various types of check valves that used in a marine application. A lift type check valve uses the disc to open and close the passage of fluid. The disc lift up from seat as pressure below the disc increases, while drop in pressure on the inlet side or a build up of pressure on the outlet side causes the valve to close. An important concept in check valves is the cracking pressure which is the minimum upstream pressure at which the valve will operate. On the other hand, optimization is a process of finding the best set of parameters to reach a goal while not violating certain constraints. The AMESim software provides NLPQL(Nonlinear Programming by Quadratic Lagrangian) and genetic algorithm(GA) for optimization. NLPQL is the implementation of a SQP(sequential quadratic programming) algorithm. SQP is a standard method, based on the use of a gradient of objective functions and constraints to solve a non-linear optimization problem. A characteristic of the NLPQL is that it stops as soon as it finds a local minimum. Thus, the simulation results may be highly dependent on the starting point which user give to the algorithm. In this paper, we carried out optimization design of the check valve with NLPQL algorithm.

The purpose of this study was to analyze a theoretical frame of expressional area, the characteristics and the effects which is applied to fashion illustration by metonymic theory. The theoretical frame of expressional area was analyzed by category analysis and 150 fashion illustrations from 1900 to 1999 were analyzed by contents analysis. The results of this study were as follows: The expressions of metonymy were categorized by close-up, realistic expression, omission, borrowing of past style, simplification and deconstruction. First, close-up was presented as emphasis of small part of fashion by cutting the scenes, snapshot, emphasis, etc. Second, realistic expression was presented as description of related circumstance with fashion message through perspective and realistic description of circumstance related to figures. Third, omission was presented as seeking of essential core by removing color, pattern, texture or by omitting body and as emphasis of communication about dominant fashion message. Fourth, borrowing of past style was presented as reminding us of background of the past. Fifth, simplification was presented as using of form or color to alleviate tension of object and to restore the essential reality. Sixth, deconstruction was presented as fragmenting of image, flattening of body and clothing, weakness of form, and strength of color. In conclusion, metonymy made by experience system of thinking based on the reality, have extended expressional territory in pre-existing fashion illustration. And these ways not only will provide fashion image as illustrator's subjective intention and theoretical system of expression of message, but also will be useful way to strengthen communication for easier interpretation of fashion illustration.
Most of the pollutants from passenger cars are emitted during the cold-transient phase of the FTP-75 test. In order to reduce the exhaust emissions during the cold-transient period, it is essential to warm up the catalyst as fast as possible after the engine starts, and the Unburned Exhaust Gas Ignition (UEGI) technology was developed through our previous studies to help close-coupled catalytic converters (CCC) reach the light-off temperature within a few seconds after cold-start. The UEGI system operates by igniting the unburned exhaust mixture by glow plugs installed upstream of the catalyst. The flame generates a high amount of heat, and if the heat is concentrated on a specific area of monolith surface, then thermal crack or failure of the monolith could occur. Therefore, it is very important to monitor the temperature distribution in the CCC during the UEGI operation, so the local temperatures in the monolith were measured using thermocouples. Experimental results showed that the temperature of CCC rises faster with the UEGI technology, and the CCC reaches the light-off temperature earlier than the baseline case. Under the conditions tested, the light-off time of the baseline case was 62 seconds, compared with 33 seconds for the UEGI case. The peak temperature is well under the thermal melting condition, and temperature distribution is not so severe as to consider thermal stress. It is noted that the UEGI technology is an effective method to warm up the catalyst with a small amount of thermal stress during the cold start period.
We fabricated tetra(5-n-nonyl-8-tert-butyl-2,3-pyrazino[2,3-b]indolo)porphyrazinato copper(II) (Cu-Pc-$C_8$) Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films. We further investigated the influence of arachidic acid (AA) as a transfer promoter, as well as the effect of dipping speed, on the deposition of the films on hydrophilic and hydrophobic substrates. In the case of pure Cu-Pc-$C_8$ LB deposition on a hydrophilic substrate, the transfer ratio was close to one for up-stroke depositions, but the previously deposited film was peeled off and re-spread onto water at down-stroke depositions. Whereas the stability of the Cu-Pc-$C_8$ LB films was not improved by AA addition on hydrophilic substrates, the deposition of Cu-Pc-$C_8$ was significantly improved by the presence of AA on a hydrophobic substrate. The AA-assisted deposition had transfer ratio of close to 1 and was essentially stable up to 10-layer depositions. Comparison of the UV-visible spectrum of a Cu-Pc-$C_8$/AA LB film with that of Cu-Pc-$C_8$/AA solution in dichloroethane revealed that the Soret and Q bands for the Cu-Pc-$C_8$/AA LB film were broadened and red-shifted due to the aggregation of phthalocyanines upon assembly in the LB film.
Effects of silane modifier, bis(triethoxysilylpropyl) tetrasulfide (TESPT(S4)) and bis(triethoxysilylpropyl) disulfide (TESPD(S2)), on silica filled compound were investigated upon processability, dynamic, mechanical, heat build-up, blowout properties, and silica dispersion in natural rubber (NR). The temperature of the S2 treated silica compound generated higher than that of the S4 treated compound during internal mixer compounding. The shear viscosity of the S2 compound exhibited lower than that of the S4 compound and the viscosity measured in dynamic mode was close to each other. The elongation modulus of the S2 compound exhibited lower than that of the S4; however, the tear resistance strength of the S2 compound exhibited higher than that of the S4 compound. The loss tan$\delta$ values of the S2 compound exhibited higher than those of the S4 at room temperature. The augmentation of the test temperature lowered the tan$\delta$ values of each compound, which results in close tan$\delta$ values to each other at $100^{\circ}C$. The S2 compound deformed less than the S4 compound, and the blowout time of each compound was close to each other. The S2 compound generated more heat build-up than the S4 compound. The abrasion loss of the S2 compound was less than that of the S4 compound. The size of the silica agglomerate reduced on both S4 and S2 compounds upon vulcanization. The addition of the bifunctional silanes (S2 and S4) on silica filled NR compound improved the processability of each compound and their effects were more significant on the S2 compound than the S4 compound. After vulcanization the silica agglomerate size of each compound reduced compared with before vulcanization.
Purpose: We performed vastus lateralis (VL) muslce or myocutaneous flap for close of the trochanteric skin defect usually happened in paraplegia and report our 6 cases. Materials and Methods: Between March 2004 and August 2005 we performed 4 cases of VL muscule flap with skin graft and 2 cases of VL myocutaneous flap for close of the trochanteric skin defect in 6 paraplegia patients. There were 5 men and 1 woman and mean age was 52.2 years and mean diameters of skin defect was $8.3{\times}8.3\;cm$. The mean follow up period was 18 months. The survival of flap, complications, healing time and patient's satisfaction were evaluated. Results: All flaps were survived except 1 case of margin necrosis. In 2 cases, blood-serous discharges were continued after operation which might be due to dead space and treated with $2{\sim}3$ times debridement and delayed close. Mean time to heal the skin defect was 7.6 weeks. No infection and recurrence in follow up periods. Cosmetic results judged by patients are that 3 cases are good and 3 cases are fair. Conclusion: VL muscle and myocutaneous flap is good treatment method among the numerous methods in treatment-failed cases of trochanteric skin defects of paraplegia patients. This surgical procedure is simple, constant blood supply, good pliability, cosmetic results and also appliable to other skin defect of pelvis girdle like sacrum and ischium.

There are a lot of roots of errors in a motion of the optical pick-up actuator being one of the most significantcomponents in a CD-ROM drive. Most of the studios recently performed have a tendency to seek for the causes from an actuator itself. This paper presents dynamic characteristics of an actuator affected by the motion of a feeding deck. The feeding system is modeled as a rigid body with eight degree-of-freedom. Using Largrange's equation, we derive linear equations of motion with respect to the rectangular coordinate. We found that the ranges of the natural frequencies of a feeding deck and the actuator are close to each other. The time responses are also computed by the Newmark method and Runge-Kutta method. The result show that it is important effect to consider feeding deck in modeling and designing an optical pick-up.
Effluent ground water overflow in deep and broad ground space building. Temperature of effluent ground water is in $12{\sim}20^{\circ}C$ annually and the quality of that water is as good as living water. Therefore if the flow rate of effluent ground water is sufficient as source of heat pump, that is good heat source and heat sink of heat pump. Effluent ground water contain the thermal energy of surrounding ground. So this is a new application of ground source heat pump. In this study open type and close type heat pump system using effluent ground water was installed and tested for a church building with large and deep ground space. The effluent flow rate of this building is $800{\sim}1000ton/day$. The heat pump capacity is 5RT each. The heat pump cooling COP is $4.9{\sim}5.2$ for the open type and $4.9{\sim}5.7$ for close type system. The system cooling COP is $3.2{\sim}4.5$ for open type and $3.8{\sim}4.2$ for close type system. This performance is up to that of BHE type ground source heat pump.
