개질한 전노슬래그의 수화반응 (Hydration of Modified Converter Slag)

  • A converter slag has been heat-treated above melting point at reduced condition by cokes. As the result, most iron was separated. To make hydraulic compounds, calcium oxide was added to the reduced converter slag and the mixtures were sintered. This modified converter slag clinker mainly contained tricalcium silicate and calcium aluminates, and have a great potential to be a good hydraulic cement. The hydrates of the hydraulic compounds and gypsum with and without granulated slags, were mainly C-S-H, ettringite, calcium monosulfoaluminate hydrate, calcium aluminate hydrate, and $Ca(OH)_2$

비소성 시멘트 콘크리트의 휨 거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Flexural Behavior of Concrete Using Non-burnt Cement)

  • If cement can be manufactured with industrial byproducts such as granulated blast furnace slag, phosphogypsum, and waste lime instead of clinker, there would be many advantages, including maximum use of these industrial byproducts for high value-added resources, conservation of natural resources and energy by omitting the use of clinker, minimized environmental pollution problems caused by CO2 discharge, and reduction of the production cost. By this reason, in this study, mechanical behavior tests of non-burnt cement concrete were performed, and elasticity modulus and stress-strain relationship of non-burnt cement concrete were proposed. 6 test members were manufactured and tested according to reinforcement ratio and concrete compressive strength. By the test results, there was no difference between ordinary concrete and non-burnt cement concrete of flexural behavior. In order to verify the proposed non-burnt cement concrete model, nonlinear analytical model was derived by using strain compatibility method. By the results of comparison between test results, ordinary concrete model and proposed model, The proposed model well predicted the flexural behavior of non-burnt cement concrete.

비소성 시멘트 콘크리트의 역학적 거동에 대한 실험 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Mechanical Behavior of Concrete Using Non-Sintered Cement)

  • 클링커 대신 고로슬래그, 폐인산석고, 폐석회 등의 산업 부산물을 이용하여 비소성시멘트를 제조하면 산업부산물 재활용, 클링커 제조를 위한 에너지 감소, $CO_2$저감으로 인한 환경오염문제 및 생산원가 저감 등의 장점이 있다. 이러한 이유로 본 연구에서는 비소성 시멘트 콘크리트의 역학적 거동실험을 수행하여 비소성 시멘트 콘크리트의 탄성계수, 응력-변형률 관계를 제안하였다. 또한 철근비, 압축강도를 변수로 9개의 구조 시험체를 제작하였으며, 그 실험 결과 비소성 시멘트 콘크리트의 휨 및 전단 거동 경향은 일반 콘크리트 부재와 크게 차이나지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

포틀랜드시멘트와 클링커의 수화모델을 이용한 자기치유 성능평가 (Evaluation of Self-Healing Performance Using Hydration Model of Portland Cement and Clinker)

  • 본 연구에서는 자기치유 콘크리트의 배합에 따른 수화과정을 해석하였다. 시뮬레이션을 위해 열역학적 모델 GEMS를 사용하였으며, 시멘트 수화모델로 Parrot & Killoh의 경험적 모델을 미소수화열시험의 결과와의 비교분석을 통해 타당성을 검증하였고, 본 연구에서 바인더로 치환하여 사용하는 클링커의 수화모델을 제시하여 사용하였다. 클링커를 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%로 치환한 배합에 따른 시뮬레이션 결과로 클링커를 사용한 배합이 균열시점에서 자기치유물질 생성량이 대폭 증가하는 것으로 확인되었다. 그러나 치환율이 증가함에 따라 CSHQ와 Portlandite의 생성량이 감소해 콘크리트의 기본적 특성인 강도와 내구성에 영향을 주는 것으로 판단되며, 본 논문에서 고려한 자기치유 콘크리트 배합중 클링커를 10%를 치환한 SHP-10배합이 가장 효율적인 재료인 것으로 판단된다.

$MgO-SiO_2$계 자기에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Porcelain Body of $MgO-SiO_2$ System)

  • This study has examined closely on the various foundamental conditions for the fitting in steatite porcelain as a industrial porcelain of superior quality, and as a decorated porcelain. The materials consisting of the Kyul Sung talc, and the sea water magnesia clinker power which was produced from Sam Hwa-Hwa Sung, as major constituents have been used, and also used Hyup Jin kaolin as clay minerals to give them plasticity. First, the mixture was made of corresponding in the theoretical composition of enstatite with Kyul sung talc and sea water magnesia clinker, and kaolin was added in various kinds of 1%, 2.5% 5%, 10%, and 20% by weight of the mixture. Next, the mixture was fired at the various temperatures from 1330 to 145$0^{\circ}C$. After we examined closely the physical properties and microstructures, we achieved the results that noted from this study were listed below. 1. The addition amount of kaolin should generally be from 5% to 10% by weight of the mixture to give mixture plasticity in steatite porcelain, but preferably about 20% to consider the firing temperature. 2. The temperature of the optimum firing range is from 1390 C to 142$0^{\circ}C$. 3. A case, which the $A_2$ composition had been fired at 142$0^{\circ}C$, showed a good effect in the strength, but showed a bad result in the absorption. Therefore, the specimens of $A_4$ the composition has excellent in properties of matters when the composition is fired at 142$0^{\circ}C$. Also, we consider that the specimens of the $A_5$ composition, which is fired at 139$0^{\circ}C$, is suitable for the $MgO-SiO_2$ porcelain bodies with respect to the various properties.

Steatite 자기의 전기적 특성에 미치는 알칼리 토금속 산화물의 영향 (Effects of Alkaline Earth Oxides on Electrical Characteristics of Steatite Porcelain)

  • The middle point of composition within the system $MgO-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$ has been studied for applicability as ceramics dielectrics. A Kyul Sung Tale of high purity, magnesia clinker of Sam-wha chemical company, C.P. aluminium oxide, calcium carbonate, red lead, barium carbonate which was made into frit were used the raw materials. A number of steatite ceramics were prepared under carefully controlled condition and the water absorption, linear shrinkage, power factor, dielectric constant and dielectric loss were measured at elevated temperature. When we used magnesia clinker as flux, the quantity of this flux was 0.05mole, sintering temperature was continued for 2 hrs. at 1, 27$0^{\circ}C$. From this conditions, we could get the data whose power factor was 0.142%, water absorption was zero, linear shrinkage was 8.76%, dielectric constant was 5.63, dielectric loss was 0.00799. When we used red lead as flux, the quantity of this flux was 0.033mole and 0.066mole, sintering temperature was continued for 2hrs. at 1, 26$0^{\circ}C$. From this conditions, we could get the data whose water absorption was zero, linear shrinkage was 8.03%, and 8.48%, power factor was 0.136% and 0.062%, dielectric loss was 0.0072 and 0.0037. When we used barium carbonate made into frit as flux, the quantity of this flux was 0.02mole, sintering temperature was continued for 2hrs. at 1, 27$0^{\circ}C$. From this conditions, we could get the data whose water absoption was zero, linear shrinkage was 8.44%, power factor was 0.138%, dielectric constant was 5.69, dielectric loss was 0.0074.

Tricalciumaluminate의 초기 수화반응에 미치는 $K_2O$의 영향 (Effect of Potassium Oxide on the Early Hydration of Tricalciumaluminate)

  • Two kinds of clinker liquid melts, one containing 2.0% of $K_2O$ and the other without $K_2O$, were prepared with the similar composition as those developed during the firing of portland cement clinker. One portion of melt was quenched and found to consist of glass together with traces of proto-$C_3A$, and the other portion was allowed to cool spontaneously to crystallize $C_3A$ and calciumferrite well. The product obtained by crystallization of the melt without $K_2O$showed cubic $C_3A$, while orthorhombic $C_3A$ was formed from the crystallized product containing $K_2O$. Studies on the hydration behavior of the samples made from the melts with 30% of gypsum were carried out for 24 hours by observation at regular intervals ettringite, monosulphate hydrates and gypsum which were formed or consumed during hydration. The samples without $K_2O$ in the melts were hydrated wth addition of proper amount of $K_2SO_4$ in the water for hydration. Hydration behavior of glassified $C_3A$ showed that it has low reactivity relative to crystallized $C_3A$, and also hydration reactivity of orthorhombic $C_3A$ was much lower than that of cubic $C_3A$ in 60 minutes. Potassium sulphate in the solution reduced the hydration reactivity of $C_3A$ . Evolution peaks of hydration heat examined by twin-type conduction micro-calorimeter showed that glassified $C_3A$ without $K_2O$ had secondary peak after 9 hours and $C_3A$ containing $K_2O$ after 12 hours. When crystallized $C_3A$ was hydrated, initial peaks of hydration heat were considerably high and there was no secondary peak for cubic $C_3A$ but the secondary peak of orthorhombic $C_3A$ appeared after 4 hours.

국내 시멘트 중의 크로뮴 성상에 관한 연구 (study of the character and condition of Cr in the korea cement)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 시멘트내 크로뮴의 존재 상태를 파악하여 시멘트 내 수용성 6가 크로뮴의 저감 방안연구의 발판을 마련하기 위한 기초실험으로써, 시멘트내의 크로뮴의 상태파악을 위하여 입자 크기별 함유량과 광물별 크로뮴의 분포를 알아보았고, 시멘트중의 크로뮴과 가용성 성분을 분석하고 고찰하였다. 마지막으로 국내 시멘트중의 크로뮴 현황에 대하여 알아보았다. 그 결과, 시멘트 입도별 수용성 6가 크로뮴은 분말도가 높은 20${\mu}$m이하에서 가장 높은 함유량을 나타냈고, 국내 클링커를 광물 분리하여 크로뮴을 측정 시, belite와 간극상에서 alite에 비하여 매우 높은 크로뮴의 고용량이 측정되었다. 최근 10개월간 측정한 국내 시멘트의 총 크로뮴의 양과 수용성 6가 크로뮴을 측정한 결과 초기에 비하여 기간이 지남에 따라 수용성 6가 크로뮴의 양이 전체적으로 감소하면서 안정적인 농도값을 나타내었고, 현재 가이드라인 설정치인 30ppm이하를 만족하고 있으며 대부분이 20ppm 이하로 나타났다. 국내 시멘트는 외국의 다른 자료들과 비교 시 총 크로뮴의 양은 적은 반면에 전환율이 높아 비교적 높은 수용성 6가 크로뮴 함유량을 나타내는 것으로 나타났다. 전환율은 10-40% 정도로 큰 범위로 나타났다.

알루민산삼칼슘 클링커와 석고의 수화에 의한 에트린자이트 미세다공체 생성거동 (Formation Behavior of Microporous Ettringite Body by Hydration of Tricalciumaluminate Clinker and Gypsum)

  • Ettringite$(3CaO{\cdot}Al_2O_3{\cdot}3CaSO_4{\cdot}32H_2O)$, one of the hydrated phase of Portland cement is usually formed in the early stage of hydration by the reaction of tricalciumaluminate$(C_3A)$ and gypsum. The rapid and strong crystal growth of separated rod-shaped ettringite have been utilized for the preparation of special cements of rapid setting, high strength and non-shrinking properties. The ettringite also has been noticed as a promising materials for the immobilization of various waste ions because of its unique crystal structure which has abundant channels and exchangeable ionic compounds. In this study, the formation and growth behavior of the ettringite was investigated in the system $C_3A-CaSO_4-H_2O$ using $C_3A$ clinker and gypsum to obtain a microporous body for waste ion immobilization. Ettringite was revealed to form by the dissolution-precipitation mechanism and the bulk body was by the entangled growth of rod-shaped ettringite crystals. The hardened body was composed of nearly pure rod-shaped ettringite interlocked each other with adequate mechanical strength. The homogeneity of structure, pore size, specific surface area and porosity of the hardened body were influenced by reaction temperature, water/powder ratio and the curing time. The hardened body prepared with water/powder ratio of 1 at $24^{\circ}C$ for one day showed excellent morphological properties for the purposed materials.

비활성 화산지역의 지중공기열원 에너지 이용에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Availability of Underground Air Energy Source in Non-Activity Volcanic Island)

  • This study introduces and analyzes the geothermal energy availability in Non-active volcanic region. Jeju island in Korea is situated in non-active volcanic region. The island is composed of rock with high pore and clinker, scoria geological layer formed by volcanic activity about two million ago. Volcanic geological layers with porous characteristics have air, vapor, water and a underground structure through which air or water can move easily. For this reason, it is probable that the mechanism of energy acquisition is by convective heat transfer. For this presumption, the availability of underground air as energy source has been studied here through theoretical analysis and experimental data. The energy output of our system ranged from 2,485,076 kJ/day to 4,060,978 kJ/day monitored using variable velocity air flow controller. Our system has capability to be a reliable energy source irrespective of environmental changes. Consequently, underground air can be utilized for energy source and provide the optimal design of heating/cooling system.
