The purpose of this study is to improve the standards for the animation education in '2011 Arts and Culture Education Standards: Cartoon and Animation'. Animation Education Standards has been developed by discussion about Arts and Culture Education, and by study of documents about animation, and by investigation about experimental recognition. And the study of domestic and foreign art education standards are reflected in these standards. These standards consist of seven categories reflecting various aspects of animation and each category is classified into five stages by age. This standard has two axes: seven categories by various aspects of animation and five stages by age, and it represents achievement requirement in animation learning. This study suggests that 'Animation Education Standards' has five features as below. First, it reflects the character of Animation as an independent subject. Second, it is studied on the basis of the framework of arts and culture education. Third, it provides basic achievement requirement, and it has no limitation in learning activities. Fourth, the achievement requirements of two or more categories can be applied simultaneously in real classroom; each category is set by themes of animation education. This study presents five methods to improve existing standard. First, independent standard for animation education must be developed. Second, categories must be established distinctly. Third, each categories and achievement requirement must reflect unique characteristic of animation. Fourth, the description of achievement requires must be systemized. Fifth, to help to adapt education standard, explanation about practical teaching and learning activities must be added. '2011 Art and Culture Education Standards: Cartoon and Animation' is important in that it is the first study that systemized animation education and presented pedagogical achievement requirements by suggesting achievement requirements for animation education by two axes -ages and categories. It will be very helpful in studying the animation education as a subject, and developing education programs, and teaching and learning in an actual class.
This study is the field of mathematics education on the assumption that they can extend outside the classroom. Recent mathematics education is increasing the importance of field experience and various activities based on real-life math education. Thus, it is necessary to consider this situation in pre-service teacher's education. The purpose of this study is to apply the 'Mathematics Field Trips Activities' in the pre-mathematics teacher education. So the specific case of 'Mathematics Field Trips Activities' was analyzed. Mathematics teachers conducted preliminary exploration activities on the historical cultural property which were effective in the following four aspects. First, cognitive effects and second, definitive effect. Third, cultural-mathematical effect. Fourth, the effect on improving math class. Finally they were summarized and divided into classes target content knowledge and teaching knowledge both sides. As a result, the 'Mathematics Field Trips Activities' were found to have significant effects on pre-service math teacher. Finally, ongoing research is needed to settle into a new teaching and learning methods.
Students can calculate the addition and subtraction problem using informal knowledge before receiving the formal instruction. Recently, the value that a computation lesson focus on the understanding and developing the various strategies is highlighted by curriculum developers as well as in reports. Ideally, a educational setting and classroom culture reflected students' learning and problem solving strategies. So, this paper analyzed the similarity and difference with respect to the numeric sentence and word problem in the addition and subtraction. The subjects for the study were 100 third-grade Korean students and 68 third-grade American students. Researcher developed the questionnaire in the addition and subtraction and used it for the survey. The following results have been drawn from this study. The computational ability of Korean students was higher than that of American students in both the numeric sentence and word problem. And it was revealed the differences of the strategies which were used problem solving process. Korean students tended to use algorithms and numbers' characters and relations, but American students tended to use the drawings and algorithms with drawings.

The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of Korea-Israel science teachers inservice program. Thirty science teachers who participated in the inservice program responded to pre- and post tests of the survey instrument on (a) their perceptions to creativity fostering science education and understandings of current education status and reform movement, (b) degrees of changes about understanding of creativity and implementing teaching methods for fostering creativity before and after the program, and (c) their evaluative opinions on the program. Suggestions for improving the program were proposed as follows: First, a pre-service workshop for the program should be provided in order to clearly realize the essential purpose of the program through increase of participating teachers' understanding of facing conditions of education, school policy, reform movement toward science education fostering creativity. Second, for the content of the program, creativity is more emphasized. Appropriate content and sufficient time arrangement for creativity will develop teachers' conceptual understanding of creativity in depth. Third, classroom observation of exemplary science teaching for fostering creativity should be sufficiently arranged. Fourth, amount of content and time allotment to Israel culture, religion, and education system should be reduced.
Purpose: This research was conducted to compare sex-related knowledge and attitude of 6th-grade elementary school students who participated in the field based learning and those with cooperative learning methods. Methods: The data were collected from June to July in 2009. The subjects of the study were recruited from the classes of the 6th grade conveniently assigned from the D elementary school located in Daejeon metro city. Total of 60 students were assigned either to the field based learning group, and the other 60 students to the cooperative learning group. The field based learning group received sex education at the Daejean Youth Sexuality Culture Center for 3 hours. And the cooperative learning group received sex education by cooperative learning method at the classroom for 40 minutes per session, once a week, for 3 weeks. The sex-related knowledge and attitude scales developed by Lee (2004) were used. The data were analyzed by $x^2$-test, Fisher's exact test, and t-test using the SPSS/WIN V. 12.0 program. Results: The results were as follows. 1. Sex-related knowledge was not significantly different between the cooperative learning and the field based learning group. 2. Sex-related attitude was not significantly different between the cooperative learning and the field based learning group. Conclusion: In this study, sex-related knowledge and sex-related attitude of the cooperative learning group and the field based learning group were different from the lecture method groups in the earlier study. It is worthy of notice that the cooperative learning group and the field based learning group took relatively less time to improve their knowlede and attitude than the earlier lecture based group did.

This study includes three students' whose country origin is of a political and economic success, therefore the pursuit to learn English is important. The participants evaluated in this study are two students of Korean descent and one Chinese student. The purpose was to evaluate their overall language learning experiences outside of their home country. While the participants in this study share similar cultures and learning styles their process towards second language readiness is different. The internal factors (readiness) that motivated them to study abroad were synonymous. However, the classroom situations (assessment), social settings (environment), and strategies used were disparate. The methodology of this paper used a holistic approach with a snowball sampling technique. The responses were collected by a prepared questionnaire and unstructured interviews, then later analyzed by the inductive reasoning process. The 3 specific categories identified were despondency, culture and communication conflict. The present study revealed that the participants' earlier preparation from their home country plays a significant contribution to their success abroad.

This study investigated six teachers who used the lessons utilizing geospatial technologies including GPS and Google Earth. The lessons were designed to ask students to solve problems with the technologies rather than to teach students to just use technology and teachers to function more as a facilitator. Key findings include: (1) The teachers with background and interest in learner-centered teaching were more effective in implementing the lessons with their students while the teachers who were familiar with teacher-centered instruction often reduced learners' roles in the lesson; (2) Generally, students expressed huge interests in the lessons. Changes in attitude and participation toward lessons were more clearly observed from low achievers and passive learners; (3) Key influencing factors in adoption of lessons utilizing geospatial technologies were school culture toward innovativeness, characteristics of school administrators, learning experience of the lessons during the workshops, and support systems for lesson preparation and implementation.
The purpose of this research was to analyze questioning types of the Korean Elementary Mathematics Textbook in grade 3 and suggest the direction of questioning strategies for enhancing creativity in mathematics lessons. For the research, the researcher analyzed questioning types of the 3rd grade mathematics textbook and the changes of the questions compared with the questions in the previous textbooks. The author suggested the following recommendations. First, the questioning strategies of the revised mathematics textbook tends more to enhance students' creativity than the previous ones did. Second, teachers need to know the students' level of mathematics before starting their mathematics lessons because teachers can provide more effective differentiated questioning to the students. Third, students can response tuned to their level of mathematics if they meet with open-ended questions. It is desirable to develop good open-ended questions to fit students' abilities. Last, teachers should provide opportunities for students to share their own mathematical thinking. In risk-free environment, students can willingly participate at debating over mathematics proofs and refutation. Teachers should make efforts to make the classroom norm or culture free to debate among students, which leads to enhancement of students' creativity or mathematical creativity.
