  • Electrical resistivity is one of physical property of the earth and measured by electrical resistivity survey, electrical resistivity logging and laboratory test. Recently, electrical resistivity Is widely used In determination of rock quality in road and railway tunnel design. To get more reliable rock quality data from electrical resistivity, it needs a lot of test and study on correlation of resistivity and rock quality. Firstly, we did rock property test In laboratory, such as uniaxial compressive strength(UCS), P wave velocity, Young's modulus and electrical resistivity. We correlate each test results and we found out that electrical resistivity has exponentially related to UCS and P wave velocity and linearly related to Young's modulus. And we accomplished electrical resistivity survey in field site and carried out electrical resistivity togging at In-situ area. Also we performed rock classification, such as RQD, RMR and Q-system and we correlate electrical resistivity to rock classification results. We found out that electrical resistivity logging data are highly correlate to RQD, Q and RMR. Also we found out that electrical resistivity survey data are lower than electrical resistivity logging data when there are faults or fractures. And it cause electrical resistivity survey data to lowly correlate to RQD, Q and RMR.

  • We develop guidelines for the quality assurance of radiation treatment planning systems (TPS) by comparing and reviewing recommendations from major countries and organizations, as well as by analyzing the AAPM, ESTRO, and IAEA TPS quality assurance guidelines. We establish quality assurance items for acceptance testing, commissioning, periodic testing, system management, and security, and propose methods to perform each item within acceptable standards. Acceptance includes tests of hardware and network environments, data transmission, software, and benchmarking as specified by the system supplier, and apply the IAEA classification criteria. Commissioning includes dosimetric and non-dosimetric items for assessing TPS performance by applying the AAPM classification criteria and the latest technical items from the IAEA. Periodic quality assurance tests include daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and occasional items by applying the AAPM classification criteria. System management and security items include the state and network connectivity of TPS, periodic data backup, and data access security. The guidelines for TPS quality assurance proposed in this study will help to improve the safety and quality of radiotherapy by preventing incidents related to radiotherapy.

  • Using the p chart is not adequate in case that there are lots of data and it is difficult to divide into products conforming or nonconforming because of obscurity of binary classification. So we need to design a new control chart which represents obscure situation efficiently. This study deals with the method to performing arithmetic operation representing fuzzy data into fuzzy set by applying fuzzy set theory and designs a new control chart taking account of a concept of classification on the term set and membership function associated with term set.

  • Delaunay triangulation is suitable for fingerprint matching because of its robustness to rotation and translation. However, missing and spurious minutiae degrade the performance and computational efficiency. In this paper, we propose a method of combining local quality assessment and 4-category minutiae classification to improve accuracy and decrease computational complexity in matching process. Experimental results suggest that removing low quality areas from matching candidate areas and classifying minutiae improve computational efficiency without degrading performance. The results proved that the proposed algorithm outperforms the matching algorithm (BOZORTH3) provided by NIST.

  • Data quality is the main issue in the classification problems; generally, the presence of noisy instances in the training dataset will not lead to robust classification performance. Such instances may cause the generated decision tree to suffer from over-fitting and its accuracy may decrease. Decision trees are useful, efficient, and commonly used for solving various real world classification problems in data mining. In this paper, we introduce a preprocessing technique to improve the classification accuracy rates of the C4.5 decision tree algorithm. In the proposed preprocessing method, we applied the naive Bayes classifier to remove the noisy instances from the training dataset. We applied our proposed method to a real e-commerce sales dataset to test the performance of the proposed algorithm against the existing C4.5 decision tree classifier. As the experimental results, the proposed method improved the classification accuracy by 8.5% and 14.32% using training dataset and 10-fold crossvalidation, respectively.

  • The objective of this research is to evaluate the water quality characteristics using the statistical analysis of major tributaries in the Han River and to provide water quality improvement plan by selecting tributaries that should be preferentially managed by river grade classification method. The major 15 tributaries in Han River watershed were monitored for discharge and water quality during January-December 2017. As a result of the correlation analysis, the river discharge has been not correlation with other water quality constituents (p>0.05) but COD and TOC were significantly correlated (r=0.957, p<0.01). The main cause of water quality fluctuation was organic pollutants and nutrients in the principal component analysis (PCA) method. The BOD, COD, TOC, TN, and TP were found to be significantly different (p<0.05) by seasonal in result of one-way ANOVA analysis. Result of river grade classification by quantitative indicators the tributaries requiring improvement of water quality were Gulpocheon, Anyangcheon, Wangsukcheon, and Tancheon which affected by wastewater treatment plant. In this research, we determined tributaries that need to improve the water quality of Han River watershed and it can be used as an important data for efficient water quality management.

  • In this paper voice quality of normal speech is qualitatively classified by five components of breathy, creaky, rough, nasal, and thin/thick voice. To determine whether a correlation exists between a subjective measure of voice and an objective measure of voice, each voice is perceptually evaluated using the 1/2/3 scale by speech processing specialists and acoustically analyzed using speech analysis tools such as the Praat, MDVP, and VoiceSauce. The speech parameters include features related to speech source and vocal tract filter. Statistical analysis uses a two-independent-samples non-parametric test. Experimental results show that statistical analysis identified a significant correlation between the speech feature parameters and the components of voice quality.

  • The definition of quality continues to evolve. In recent years, there has been growing interest in how to satisfy customers' potential needs with an emphasis on customer-oriented quality. Two-dimensional quality proposed by Kano provides a useful framework for discovering quality attributes critical to customer satisfaction and it is widely employed for product and service development. In Kano model, quality attributes are classified into attractive, one-dimensional, must-be, indifferent, and reverse ones. Finding attractive elements among them is important for achieving customer satisfaction effectively. However, Kano's classification method has limitations in dealing with customers' ambiguous and complex ideas. The customer response itself includes uncertainty and incompleteness. To overcome this problem, fuzzy methods are incorporated with Kano's classification in this paper. According to numerical comparisons, it is shown that the fuzzy Kano method is useful for accommodating various response of customer and is helpful to identify potential needs.

  • This paper presents the results of Landsat-TM imagery applications for detecting spatial variations of the water environments in the Saemankeum (STLR) project areas. The simulated tidal flow patterns from a two -dimensional hydro - dynamic model and water quality data from STRL project were used for relationships with the satellite data. Unsupervised classification of the tidal water body reflects the overall flow patterns at a flooding tide. Regressive equations for water quality parameters were derived and used for supervised classifications. The results were found to be useful to synoptically evaluate the water environments during the construction stages of the STLR project.

  • In this paper, the trend of quality management system that suppliers in the automotive industry are adopting, the classification system of suppliers and car manufacturers requirements for quality are described. Due to the complexity of the requirements for quality, the introduction of an active quality management system which can meet all conditions is a difficult task. Thus, to cope with this difficulty, this paper shows the optimal requirements that suppliers have to consider when they are introducing quality management system and the discriminated strategies to assure parts quality by supplier model.
