The Effect of Teaching Program with Frayer model on Learning Motive and Learning Achievement of 6th Grade Elementary Science Learning (초등학교 6학년 과학과에서 프레어모형을 활용한 수업이 학습동기와 학업 성취도에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, to raise the interest and curiosity of students and at the same time to learn science concepts meaningfully for students, the teaching and learning program was developed by applying the Frayer model. The purpose of this study was to find out the Effect of Elementary Science Teaching Program with Frayer model on Learning Motive and Learning Achievement. To this end, the 6th grade classroom of A-elementary school located in Seogwipo-city was selected the experimental group (26 patients). And the other 6th grade classroom in the same school was selected to the comparative group (27 patients). The experimental group was conducted applying the Frayer model. Comparison group has been conducted lesson program in accordance with the general science class teacher guide. Was through a pre-test of science learning motivation and academic achievement level can be assumed in the same group. After completing the experimental treatment by conducting a post-mortem examination was statistically validated. In this study, the following conclusions were obtained. First, elementary science class which applied Frayer model had the effect of to improve the scientific motivation. In particular, attention (p <.01), association (p <.01), confidence (p <.01) in the experimental group were higher than the scores of the comparative group, the difference was significant. Second, the Frayer model applied to elementary science class had a significant effect on improving science achievement. The experimental group which applied Frayer model was higher than the comparative group in science achievement post-test comparison. Between the groups showed a significant difference between the two groups (p <.01). The above findings, Elementary science class which applied Frayer model can be concluded to be effective in science and science achievement motivation. Therefore, applying the Frayer model of elementary science class could be useful in science teaching and learning methods. In addition, when it is determined through the previous study, applying the Frayer model classes will be able to derive a meaningful learning also subjected to a number of fields and areas.

Performance Characteristics of an Ensemble Machine Learning Model for Turbidity Prediction With Improved Data Imbalance (데이터 불균형 개선에 따른 탁도 예측 앙상블 머신러닝 모형의 성능 특성)

  • High turbidity in source water can have adverse effects on water treatment plant operations and aquatic ecosystems, necessitating turbidity management. Consequently, research aimed at predicting river turbidity continues. This study developed a multi-class classification model for prediction of turbidity using LightGBM (Light Gradient Boosting Machine), a representative ensemble machine learning algorithm. The model utilized data that was classified into four classes ranging from 1 to 4 based on turbidity, from low to high. The number of input data points used for analysis varied among classes, with 945, 763, 95, and 25 data points for classes 1 to 4, respectively. The developed model exhibited precisions of 0.85, 0.71, 0.26, and 0.30, as well as recalls of 0.82, 0.76, 0.19, and 0.60 for classes 1 to 4, respectively. The model tended to perform less effectively in the minority classes due to the limited data available for these classes. To address data imbalance, the SMOTE (Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique) algorithm was applied, resulting in improved model performance. For classes 1 to 4, the Precision and Recall of the improved model were 0.88, 0.71, 0.26, 0.25 and 0.79, 0.76, 0.38, 0.60, respectively. This demonstrated that alleviating data imbalance led to a significant enhancement in Recall of the model. Furthermore, to analyze the impact of differences in input data composition addressing the input data imbalance, input data was constructed with various ratios for each class, and the model performances were compared. The results indicate that an appropriate composition ratio for model input data improves the performance of the machine learning model.

The Effects of Class Climates Assessment on the Teaching Style and Teaching Career of Instructor (교수자의 교수 스타일(Teaching Style)과 교육경험이 수업 분석에 미치는 영향)

  • This research aims is to confirm the influence of a teacher's teaching style and teaching career on instructional analysis. Through this, the differences in the relevant elements' view points on a class and those in teachers' analysis view points on class criticism and instructional analysis at the education field can be investigated. For this study, the teaching styles of 198 elementary school teachers were categorized, their teaching careers were checked as teaching career and set them as covariate, and the differences in the view points on the analysis of the class climates were verified depending on each teaching style. As the research result, meaningful differences were found in four areas of the elements of class climates analysis, that is, creativity, vitality, precision, and gentleness. In the analysis of the class climates, the teachers with a professional style among the teaching styles gave the highest grades to creativity in the same class, those with a facilitating style to vitality, those with a role model style to precision, and those with a facilitating and role model style to gentleness. On the other hand, those with an authoritative and a delegating style were proved to give the lowest grades in general class climates. It means that teachers with different teaching styles have different viewpoints when analyzing a class, and those with a professional, a role model and a facilitating style have a relatively stronger intention to analyze a class through reflective introspection and permissive recognition.

  • This paper presents a methodology to extract classes and inheritance relations from procedural software. The methodology is based on the idea of generating all groups of class candidates, based on the combinatorial groups of object candidates, and their inheritance with all possible combinations and selecting a group of object candidates, and their inheritance with all possible combinations and selecting a group with the best or optimal combination of candidates with respect to the degree of relativity and similarity between class candidates in the group and classes in a domain model. The methodology has innovative features in class candidates in the group and classes in a domain model. The methodology has innovative features in class and inheritance extraction: a clustering method based on both static (attribute) and dynamic (method) clustering, the combinatorial cases of grouping class candidate cases based on abstraction, a signature similarity measurement for inheritance relations among n class candidates or m classes, two-dimensional similarity measurement for inheritance relations among n class candidates or m classes, two-dimensional similarity measurement, that is, the horizontal measurement for overall group similarity between n class candidates and m classes, and the vertical measurement for specific similarity between a set of classes in a group of class candidates and a set of classes with the same class hierarchy in a domain model, etc. This methodology provides reengineering experts with a comprehensive and integrated environment to select the best or optimal group of class candidates.

A Study on Class Participation Factors that Affect the Class Satisfaction : Focusing on Students of Dental Technology Department (수업 만족도에 영향을 미치는 수업참여 요인 : 치기공(학)과 학생을 중심으로)

  • Purpose: In this study, we aim to provide primary source of data for developing a learning program that enhances the students' learning by critically analyzing and adopting the effective class participation factors of the students. Methods: A questionnaire survey has been conducted from the beginning of May to the end of October, 2017. Subjects of the survey was the dental technology students living in W-city et al by random sampling method along with written informed consent. Out of 630 distributed questionnaires, 584 results were used for our analysis. Results: Firstly, the average score of the class participation of all the subjects was 3.08 points out of 5.0, which was broken down into class activity (3.53 points), passion about class (3.51 points), communication factors (2.88 points), class preparation (2.77 points), class extension (2.76 points). Secondly, statistically significant correlations were found between class participation and class satisfaction as shown in (p<.01). Class participation factors that affect the class satisfaction were class preparation(p<.001), class activities(p<.001), passion about class(p<.001), which reveals positive and meaningful results. Explanatory power of the model turned out 50.3%. Conclusion : Considering that class preparation, class activities, and passion about class played a key role in class satisfaction of the student, teachers need to be open minded to reflect the learners' personalized demands and needs in preparing and managing their class. Additionally should be in tandem that provides the students with various routes of class participation.

Effect of NFTM-TRIZ Model Based on Cooperative Learning on Creativity and Class Satisfaction (협동학습에 기반한 NFTM-TRIZ교수·학습모형 적용이 창의성과 수업만족도에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore ways to improve teaching and learning in specialized high schools by investigating the relationship between creativity and class satisfaction in classes using the NFTM-TRIZ model for specialized high school students. In order to achieve the purpose of the research, first, the differences between the applied effects, experiments, and control groups were analyzed when the NFTM-TRIZ model was applied. Second, when the NFTM-TRIZ model was applied, it was analyzed whether there was a significant difference in creativity and class satisfaction by group size. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, as a result of comparing the preand post-tests of the experimental group and the control group applying the NFTM-TRIZ model through the t-test, the experimental group showed significant differences in creative spontaneity, identity, attachment, curiosity and class satisfaction. Second, in experimental groups with the NFTM-TRIZ model, the size of groups of 4 and 6, rather than the size of groups of 2, had positive effects on class satisfaction. Therefore, the NFTM-TRIZ model based on collaborative learning was effective as a teaching and learning method that promoted creativity and satisfaction of students in specialized high schools.

A Hierarchical RAM Simulation Model Framework (계층적 RAM 시뮬레이션 모델 프레임워크)

  • In this paper, we propose a hierarchical RAM simulation model framework which are used to analyze the RAM specifications on the concept refinement phase. The hierarchical RAM simulation model framework consists of RAM simulation models, class library and each model's input and output data lists. The hierarchical RAM simulation models are co-operated with 3 kinds of model - type I, II, III. Type I, II models are used to analyze the target operational availability and Type III is used to establish the initial RAM specifications. Each model's input and output data lists are defined by considering each model's purpose of RAM analysis. The class library is arranged with each model's classes for implementing the hierarchical simulation models. The proposed framework may be applied for executing the RAM activities effectively.

  • The fourth industrial revolution calls for an integrated talent by improving working-level skills within the big framework of creativity and convergence. Therefore, university education focuses on solving the problem of practical ability education by improving employment ability. Based on this improvement in practical skills, this study is based on the field-based design curriculum of Capstone. Currently, the Capstone Design Course is being implemented at most universities, extending its scope to the fields of engineering, humanities, social studies and arts. However, there is a limit to the core concept of Capstone design education and capacity education developed in line with the foreign educational environment and applied directly to our nation's university education. In terms of overseas cases, the core focus is to develop practical, design, and prototype capabilities by forming a team among all grades and multidisciplinary institutions to support the capital and manpower of the industry. However, the nation's industrial linkage and curriculum have difficulties in carrying out multi-disciplinary education. In this study, students were asked to team up and solve the challenges that the industry needs based on the expertise acquired in the lower grade curriculum by applying majors and 3D printing through the first and second semester courses of the fourth grade to address these limitations. In addition, business skills for the process of creativity and leadership experience in our country through a suitable design capstone class to review the efficiency of education by applying a model. In order to achieve the purpose of Capstone design subject, the goal setting, class model composition, class model application, verification and evaluation, and final class model development procedures were carried out. Through this process, it will be used as a basic material for educating design class capstone design.

The Development of an Instructional Model for the Revitalization of the Schema for Reading Education in School Libraries (학교도서관의 독서교육에서 스키마 활성화를 위한 수업모형 개발)

  • The research is intended to establish the importance of background knowledge in reading process and suggest a revitalization plan for the schema for reading education. The reading process as fundamental research and the schema conception have been studied and the present situation of reading education in the school libraries has been inspected. This research reviewed the reading strategies which school libraries require for the revitalization of the schema and based on this data, a method of SQ3R reading has been applied and a class model developed. As an outcome, a guidance plan for instruction was proposed and learning-activity materials applying graphic organizer have been produced. Subsequently, a class in school library was conducted. Following the outcome of the class and an expert's review of the class model, this research has developed a class model for the revitalization of the schema for reading education in school libraries.

Design of Class-II Partial-Response System above the Nyquist Rate (나이퀴스트 속도를 초과하는 제2종 부분응답 시스템의 설계)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel spectral-chopping model of Class-II$(1+D)^2$ -PRS system which reveals improved spectral efficiency. We build up the model having spectrum chopped by the amount of Nyquist over-rate, and then compare its characteristics with the conventional model in both the time-domain and the frequency-domain. When the transmission system operates above the Nyquist rate, the new model has better performance than the conventional PRS using its inherent speed-tolerance. According to our investigations, Class-II PRS shows more excellent effect in the spectral-chopping method than Class- I and W types analyzed previously. We ascertain that the over-rate of 26.675 obtained by the inherent speed-tolerance could be improved upto 40% using spectrum-truncation. These effects come from the fact that the raised-cosine spectrum of Class-II PRS has smaller Boss of frequency component and energy than any other types for the same amount of truncation. In order to validate these theoretical results, we present their sidelobe-trends confirming cancellation effects at the sampling instants and some experimental results showing their patterns of eye-openings and spectra.
