The objective of this research was to assess the amount of carbon stock of coarse woody debris (CWD) in Bombo-Lumene Reserve. Data on lying CWD was collected on 35 circular sampling plots using Line Intersect Sampling (LIS) method. A total of 230 samples CWD (${\geq}10cm$ diameter) were inventoried. The mean carbon stocks of CWD was $29.48Mg\;C\;ha^{-1}$, ranging from 4.32 to $73.54Mg\;C\;ha^{-1}$. The CWD carbon stocks displayed a wide range of variation in decay states. The allocation of CWD among the decay class of all the CWD samples reveals that the most important classes were class 1 and class 3 with 323.66 and $321.96Mg\;C\;ha^{-1}$, followed by class 4 with 264.56 and the last one was class 2 with $121.72Mg\;C\;ha^{-1}$. The results suggested that the dead wood component is important in carbon sequestration and should be taken into consideration for quantification of carbon stocks not only in Bombo-Lumene Reserve, but in all forest ecosystems in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
KEPRI has studied anode-supported planar SOFCs and kW class stacks operated at intermediate temperature for development of a combined heat and power unit. A single cell composed of Ni-YSZ/FL/ScSZ/LSCF showed the maximum power density of 0.55 W/$cm^2$ at $650^{\circ}C$ and 1.8 W/$cm^2$ at $750^{\circ}C$. With 37 cells of 10${\times}10cm^2$ and stainless steel interconnects, a 1kW class SOFC stack was manufactured. When a 1kW class SOFC system was operated at $750^{\circ}C$ with city gas, it showed the power output of 1.3 kWe at 50 A. It also recuperated heat of 0.57-1.2 kWth according to the loaded current through combustion of unreacted anode off-gas. Recently, KEPRI is developing a new kW class SOFC stack and system to increase efficiency and durability at intermediate temperature.
Typically, high lime fly ash (Class C) has been characterized as a fly ash, which at lower replacement levels is not as effective as the low lime (Class F) fly ash, in mitigating alkali-silica reaction (ASR) in portland cement concrete. The influence of fineness of Class C, obtained by grinding virgin fly ash into finer particles, on its pozzolanic reactivity and ASR mitigation performance was investigated in this study. In order to assess the pozzolanic reactivity of mortar mixtures containing virgin or ground fly ashes, the strength activity index (SAI) test and thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) were conducted on the mortar cubes and paste samples, respectively, containing virgin fly ash or two ground fly ashes. In addition, to evaluate any improvement in the ASR mitigation of ground fly ashes compared to that of the virgin fly ash, the accelerated mortar bar test (AMBT) was conducted on the mortar mixtures containing different dosages of either virgin or ground fly ashes. In all tests crushed glass aggregate was used as a highly reactive aggregate. Results from this study showed that the finest fly ash (i.e., with an average particle size of 3.1 microns) could increase the flow ability along with the pozzolanic reactivity of the mortar mixture. However, results from this study suggested that the fineness of high lime fly ash does not seem to have any significant effect on ASR mitigation.
For imaginary quadratic number fields F = $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{{\varepsilon}p_1{\ldots}p_{t-1}})$, where ${\varepsilon}{\in}${-1,-2} and distinct primes $p_i{\equiv}1$ mod 4, we give condition of 8-ranks of class groups C(F) of F equal to 1 or 2 provided that 4-ranks of C(F) are at most equal to 2. Especially for F = $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{{\varepsilon}p_1p_2)$, we compute densities of 8-ranks of C(F) equal to 1 or 2 in all such imaginary quadratic fields F. The results are stated in terms of congruence relation of $p_i$ modulo $2^n$, the quartic residue symbol $(\frac{p_1}{p_2})4$ and binary quadratic forms such as $p_2^{h+(2_{p_1})/4}=x^2-2p_1y^2$, where $h+(2p_1)$ is the narrow class number of $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{2p_1})$. The results are also very useful for numerical computations.

This study has been conducted to investigate corrosivity of carbon steel, Cu, Zn and Al for one year from Sept. 2003 to Aug. 2004. A model of ISO 9223-ISO 9226 that represents the relation between metal corrosions and environmental parameters was used for atmospheric corrosion evaluations. Environmental parameters for these evaluations are time of wetness(TOW), $SO_2$ and Chloride. Corrosion rates for four metals which are exposed indoors and outdoors were measured on five locations in Jeju Island; Gosan, Seogwipo, Seongsan, Chuna hill and Jeju city. The environmental factor of atmospheric corrosion of Jeju Island for $SO_2$ class is P0, a clean area. TOW as T3 and T4 indicates that Jeju has the characteristics of a tropical area. Chlorides class within 3 km from the coast show the features of costal area as S2 and S3 classes. Chuna hill show the features of woodland as a S1 class. In Corrosion classes of each site which was measured outdoors is higher than indoors. Gosan is the highest class as the rank of C5, and indicated that they're ranked as C3 or C4.
This article coined a general class of estimators for various measures in normal population when some' a priori' or guessed value of standard deviation a is available in addition to sample information. The class of estimators is primarily defined for a function of standard deviation. An unbiased estimator and the minimum mean squared error estimator are worked out and the suggested class of estimators is compared with these classical estimators. Numerical computations in terms of percent relative efficiency and absolute relative bias established the merits of the proposed class of estimators especially for small samples. Simulation study confirms the excellence of the proposed class of estimators. The beauty of this article lies in estimation of various measures like standard deviation, variance, Fisher information, precision of sample mean, process capability index $C_{p}$, fourth moment about mean, mean deviation about mean etc. as particular cases of the proposed class of estimators.
If 𝖃 is a class of groups, denote by F𝖃 the class of groups G such that for every $x{\in}G$, there exists a normal subgroup of finite index H(x) such that ${\langle}x,h{\rangle}{\in}$ 𝖃 for every $h{\in}H(x)$. In this paper, we consider the class F𝖃, when 𝖃 is the class of nilpotent-by-finite, finite-by-nilpotent and periodic-by-nilpotent groups. We will prove that for the above classes 𝖃 we have that a finitely generated hyper-(Abelian-by-finite) group in F𝖃 belongs to 𝖃. As a consequence of these results, we prove that when the nilpotency class of the subgroups (or quotients) of the subgroups ${\langle}x,h{\rangle}$ are bounded by a given positive integer k, then the nilpotency class of the corresponding subgroup (or quotient) of G is bounded by a positive integer c depending only on k.
Over the past few years, a considerable number of methods have been proposed and applied for the classification of photoplethysmography (PPG). Most of the previous studies, however, focused on the qualitative description of the pulse type according to specific disease and thus provided ambiguous criteria to interpreters. In order to screen out this problem, we present a quantitative method for the pulse type classification including the second derivative of photoplethysmography (SDPTG). In the PPG signal, we have classified the signal as 4 types using the position and the presence of the dicrotic wave. In addition, we have categorized the SDPTG signal as 7 types using the position and the presence of "c" and "d" wave and the sign of "c" wave. In order to check the efficacy of the proposed pulse type classification rule, we collected pulse signals from 155 subjects with different ages and sex. From the correlation analysis, Class 1(p<0.01) and Class 2(p<0.01) in the PPG signal are significantly correlated with ages. In a similar manner Class A(p<0.01), Class C(p<0.05), Class D(p<0.01), and Class F(p<0.01) in the SDPTG signal are considerably correlated with the ages. From these observations, and some earlier ones [4], [5], we can conclude that since the newly proposed method has objectivity and clarity in pulse type classification, this method can be used as an alternative of previous classification rules including similar age-related characteristics.
CO2 injection well sealant is vulnerable to supercritical CO2 (scCO2) exposure. To develop an alternative to the conventional sealant system (class G cement/class F fly ash), the performance of slag cement (SPC) systems containing class F fly ash (FFA) or class C fly ash (CFA) was evaluated and compared with the conventional sealant under scCO2 conditions. All sealant systems showed an immediate increase in compressive strength upon scCO2 exposure and, at 37.6 MPa, SPC/CFA showed the highest compressive strength after 14 days, which was much higher than the 29.8 MPa of the conventional sealant system. Substantial decreases in porosity were observed in all sealant systems, which were partly responsible for the increase in strength. Carbonation reactions led to pH decreases in the tested sealants from 12.5 to 10~11.6. In particular, the greatest decrease in pH in slag cement/class C fly ash probably supported relatively sustainable alkali activation reactions and the integrity of cement hydrates in this system. XRD revealed the presence of CaCO3 and a decrease in the content of cement hydrates in the tested sealants upon scCO2 exposure. TGA demonstrated a greater increase of CaCO3 and calcium-silicate-hydrate phases in SPC/CFA than in the conventional sealant upon scCO2 exposure.
The LEACH does not use flooding method for data transmission and this makes low power consumption. So performance of the WSN is increased. On the other hand, QoS based algorithm which use restricted flooding method in WSN also achieves low power consuming rate by reducing the number of nodes that are participated in routing path selection. But when the data is delivered to the sink node, the LEACH choose a routing path which has a small hop count. And it leads that the performance of the entire network is worse. In the paper we propose a QoS based energy efficient clustering and routing algorithm in WSN. I classify the type of packet with two classes, based on the energy efficiency that is the most important issue in WSN. We provide the differentiated services according to the different type of packet. Simulation results evaluated by the NS-2 show that proposed algorithm extended the network lifetime 2.47 times at average. And each of the case in the class 1 and class 2 data packet, the throughput is improved 312% and 61% each.
