  • There has been various pedestrian-friendly planning for making walkable cities. However, the representation of urban pedestrian spaces that should be the basis of the pedestrian-friendly planning tends to be far from reality. This is due to the absence of a consensual way to represent pedestrian spaces in the city. In this context, this study aims to propose a method to properly represent pedestrian spaces. For this purpose, this study first reviews the patterns of representing pedestrian spaces appearing on city maps and examines their merits and limits. After that, the criteria of pedestrian traversability and the mapping method are proposed on a trial basis for representing pedestrian spaces. Then, applying this to the case sites, Mokdong and Euljiro, this paper demonstrates how the operation of representing pedestrian spaces works. It is expected that the results of this study would be used as the basic foundation for a more developed representation of effective pedestrian-friendly planning.

  • Our country did not illustrate and reverse by a city planning law department construction Buddhist priest's robe dual setup the urban setting to be regulated, it came. The city planning law as the high position system of space planning mainly provides the use and a size of the land, the construction law the detail contents of site undergarment concrete location and the form back is provided and of course, regarding the structure which relates with the designation of concrete building use in him and the immediacy back. These two laws are come by a trade name complement and a function sharing role in order for the affirmative development of the city to become accomplished, being used. To necessity of District unit plan the general causal government employee all it is sympathizing, it relates it goes to extremes and with the maintenance of endurance environment and many portion with charge Sikkim also the fact that it is the criticism which relativy is negative in duty of administrative origination is fact in the people. But realization of plan hazard the execution of the public section which stands will be important, it will reach and the public section execution plan of the autonomous nine dimension for must be prepared. The next research that the individual globe plan and development actual condition actual proof and the research which it analyzes system is necessary with base, sees the general operation evaluation of Seoul District unit plan.

  • It is necessary to study more integrated and objective method of urban compactness evaluation. Accordingly, the author examined precedent study and references related to the theory of compact city with the aim of deducing the urban planning factors from them. And then, these factors are objectified through the survey and interview with experts, and each of the factors is given a weighting by the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) Method. Based on these evaluation model, the urban compactness of Korean Metropolitan Cities such as Busan, Incheon, Daegu, Gwangju, Daejeon, Ulsan, are analyzed their relative gap. The result of this study, as a foundational data for decision-making on the urban policy, could be useful for compact city planning such as regeneration of old town center etc.

  • The purpose of this study is to present an appropriate approach to urban regeneration by analyzing Gwangju Metropolitan City. For the study, residential area of Asia Culture Complex was analyzed based on GIS. The areas concerned were categorized and looked into by their Situation based on the analysis of urban infrastructure state. However, as the architectural space within a city are limited, and accurate assessment of them is needed. The residential areas have the following characteristics. They become an aging and dilapidating residential and socially underprivileged-concentrated area. It is necessary to set up a direction for a future-oriented planning for the development of these areas. Along with a decreasing population, it is important to improve the urban architecture environment for the elderly in an aging society. The economic growth of a city if necessary for the future. Therefore, the criteria for the assessment is required. And the subsequent setting-up and planning of a future direction for a city is badly needed. After that, an accurate assessment of a city called for. City space allows for various interpretations. As the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer, a wealth is concentrated on one district or an area.

  • Objectives: Although many cities have adopted Healthy Cities approach in Republic of Korea, few studies have been reported about city health profile. So we report a case of city health profile made of subjective indexes and objective indicators using available recent evidence. Methods: To assess subjective city health indexes, questionnaire survey was implemented to public officers and citizen adapting the 'Signs of progress, signs of caution of 12 stage tool from Ontario Healthy Community Coalition. Based on recent literature objective city health indicators were collected for time-series comparison and for the comparison with those of larger province mainly using Korean Statistical Information Service. Results: Subjective city health indexes were successfully constructed in four areas including human health, environment, social and economic area. The score was especially low in environmental area. Specific items in each area for improvement were identified. Objective city health indicators were collected for three year time-series comparison and for the compared with those of larger province. Conclusions: City health profile comprised of subjective city health indexes and objective city health indicators could successfully be made from primary survey and secondary data in a medium-sized Korean city. That City health profile was useful in subsequent city health planning through participatory process.

  • A prediction is an indispensable element to research of Social Science, especially in Regional planning, City planning, and Transportation planning. Since 1930s, varieties of prediction methods have been developed. In the 1980s, numerical models have been used by high-developed computers. even though the numerical models can be figured mathematically, it could not be applied practically due to it's expertness and complicateness. And even professional planners often can not use their ideas which are valuable experiences in prediction process, because they are not knowledgable for numerical models. The YSIM developed by author, is available as follows. i)Numerical modeling of professional experiences ii)Providing a foundation of large-scale model iii) Understanding of research object structure The YSIM make use of matrix to identify the system structure which is similar to the Cross Impact Method. To evaluated the YSIM availabilities, it is compared with the early developed methodologies such as KSIM, QSIM, and SPIN. As the result, it was confirmed that YSIM was more accurate in the prediction. The algorithms in YSIM is programmed for use of PCs.

  • With environmental problems and pollutions accumulated by continuous towns or cities developments events, it is becoming necessary to develop in consideration of environmental effects. This consensus leads to prepare a plan system and instrument for ecological city development, which can be a series of planning indicators. To develope a series of process for environmental friendly development, this study has three main goals as follows; development of policies and programs for environmental friendly development, suggestion of environmental friendly urban design models and standards, development of planning indicators and design guidelines Korean land use plan is operated by both zoning system and detailed plan system. But the available kinds of zoning type are too limited to apply to various and vernacular places. In addition to, the detailed plan is understood to be another regulation which constricts the freedom of building right. In this study, Plan System of Environmentally Friendly Space was studied for domestic affairs In German, Plan System of Environmentally Friendly Space is the field have been progressed before. so In this study, example of German was researched intensively, and Plan System of Environmentally Friendly Space was developed, applicable for the real state in domestic. This study was focused on methodology of landscape planning and planning for afforestation. Landscape planning is performed on condition detail investigation of existent state of nature and local characteristic, and Investigation of Planning for afforestation is more detailed than that of Landscape planning. In the basis of methodology of landscape planning and planning for afforestation, Plan for Environmentally Friendly Urban Habitation Model was developed. Plan for Environmentally Friendly Urban Habitation Model was applicable for state of land use planning. Site was selected Chuk-chun in city yang-in, taking the circumstances into consideration. So landscape planning correspond to land use planning was made out. Adjustment of Land use planning and Landscape planning was very important. Undergoing this process, Plan for Environmentally Friendly Urban Habitation Model was performed.
