  • 분산 컴퓨팅 자원의 효율적인 관리기술은 많은 기업, 연구소, 표준기관이 연구해온 분야로 최근까지도 관련된 개방형 프로젝트가 진행되고 있다. 대표적으로 DMTF는 선도적인 기업체를 중심으로 학계와 협력하여 객체지향 방법을 통한 다양한 컴퓨팅 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어 관리 시스템의 정보를 CIM기반의 객체로 정의하고 있다. 또한 SNIA에서는 DMTF의 CIM 표준을 기반으로 개방형 스토리지 관리 표준인 SMI-S 규격을 제공하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 SNIA에서 제공하는 SMI-S CIIM 스키마를 이용하여 상용 가상화 소프트웨어 인 Citrix Storagelink를 통해 Third Party 스토리지 시스템을 관리하기 위한 기술에 대해 설명한다.

Integrity verification of VM data collected in private cloud environment and reliability verification of related forensic tools (사설 클라우드 환경에서 수집된 VM 데이터의 무결성 입증과 관련 포렌식 도구의 신뢰성 검증)

  • Recently, a large number of corporations are adopting cloud solution in order to reduce IT-related costs. By the way, Digital Trace should have admissibility to be accepted as digital evidence in court, and integrity is one of the factors for admissibility. In this context, this research implemented integrity verification test to VM Data which was collected by well-known private cloud solutions such as Citrix, VMware, and MS Hyper-V. This paper suggests the effective way to verify integrity of VM data collected in private cloud computing environment based on the experiment and introduces the error that EnCase fails to mount VHD (Virtual Hard Disk) files properly.

  • Recently, cloud computing is one of the parts showing the biggest growth in the IT market and is expected to continue to grow into. Especially, many companies are adopting virtual desktop infrastructure as private cloud computing to achieve in saving the cost and enhancing the efficiency of the servers. However, current digital forensic investigation methodology of cloud computing is not systematized scientifically and technically. To do this, depending on the type of each cloud computing services, digital evidence collection system for the legal enforcement should be established. In this paper, we focus on virtual desktop infrastructure as private cloud computing and introduce the most widely used around the world desktop virtualization solutions of VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft. And We propose digital forensic investigation methodology for private cloud computing that is constructed by these solutions.

  • In shipbuilding and marine industry, engineering and design software solutions have upgraded from the original 2D schematic data based CAD system to a modern 3D drawing-based system. Due to the fact that the massive amount of data usage in real time and data volumes of various engineering models including graphic data have increased, several problems such as lack of server resources and improper handling of 3D drawings have been raised. Besides, increasing the number of session connections per server can cause deterioration of server performance. Recently, increasing the yard's sophisticated design capabilities highlighted the need to develop engineering and design system which would not only overcome the network performance issues, but would provide efficient collaborative design environment. This paper presents an overview of the framework for collaborative engineering design system based on the virtual application (Citrix XenApp 6.5)and acceleration hardware technology of 3D graphics (NVIDIA GRID K2 solution).

  • 가상화는 다양한 IT분야에서 빠르게 발전하고 기술의 사용이 급격히 증가함에 따라 오픈소스 커뮤니티(Xen, KVM 등)와 기업(Citrix, VMware, Microsoft 등)을 중심으로 다양한 종류의 하이퍼바이저가 개발되었다. 가상화 기술이 발달하면서 서버, 네트워크, 스토리지 통합이 더욱 활발해졌고, 가상화 기술과 병렬 처리 기술이 결합되면서 클라우드 컴퓨팅(Cloud Computing)이라는 거대한 흐름이 생겨났다. 각각의 하이퍼바이저는 가상화라는 동일한 목적을 가지고 이를 다른 방식으로 구현되었으며, 나아가 가상화 기술의 성능 향상을 위해 하나의 하이퍼바이저 내에서도 여러 방식의 가상화 모드를 지원할 수 있게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 하이퍼바이저 중 Xen과 KVM에 대하여 비교 분석 하였다.

  • Virtualization has recently come under the spotlight as an important emerging technology. The technology was initially focused on services rather than the effective use of the system when it was developed in the 1960s. Now, following with technological advancement, virtualization is used on servers based on x86. The biggest merit by far of this technology is economic. Virtualization enables server integration, which can cut operating expenses (including personnel expenses) since it costs less to purchase, power and maintain multiple servers if they are integrated by the virtualization technology. This study examines the trend of virtualization technology and suggests a roadmap for future server integration.
