Objective : One of the characteristics of "Dongeuibogam" is that there are citation records at the end of quotations. Therefore, each pharagraph and formula in "Dongeuibogam" has citation records. In this article, authors try to review on the way of those citation records. Method : Comparing citation records of formulae-names with citation records of formulae-explanations. Result : On one side, citation records of formulae-names and citation records of formulae-explanations are not same. Conclusion : There are no regular rules in the way of citation records in "Dongeuibogam".

Purpose: The aim of this study is to identify highly cited articles and examine trends and characteristics in research on periacetabular osteotomy. Materials and Methods: The 50 most highly cited articles on periacetabular osteotomy research were identified using Scopus. Data regarding article demographics and publication were collected from each article and an analysis was performed. Results: The mean citation count was 125±37. The article with the highest total citation count (796), five-year citation count (327), and five-year citation density (65/year) was reported by Reinhold Ganz. The five-year citation density showed strong correlation with total citation density (r=0.930, P<0.001). Reinhold Ganz, the most productive author, was listed on 13 articles in the cohort with 455 weighted citation points. Conclusion: This study provides a collection of articles examining periacetabular osteotomies and demonstrates that citation count can be regarded as an acceptable measure of the contemporary academic influence of an article.

This research uses a new approach to analyze the extent of influence journal papers have on the progress of varied research fields by estimation of subject-based influence on research other than impact factor that relies on citation index. It is initiated with the hypothesis that earlier established citation relations between journal and citing paper, which reveals the research field that contains the highest citation index and hence has received the greatest contribution from a particular journal, would have inconsistent contribution to the research field over the year of journal publication. The target research is primarily 128 journal papers and 4,123 citing papers from Information Systems Research published in the years 2001, 2004, 2007, and 2010. The characteristics of citation history and hallmarks of research field of citing papers were studied and analysis on significant distinction between citing fields based on the year of publication was performed. The analysis results show the order of citation rate to be highest from Computer Science (2,221 cases), Business & Economics (2,191 cases), and Information Science & Library Science (1,901 cases). The citation history of the journal, nonetheless, indicates increase in citation during 2-3 years after the earliest publication till it achieves constant citation. The statistical analysis shows significant variation in citing fields in accordance with the publication year; especially in 2010, journal contribution has increased in the fields of Business & Economics, Operations Research & Management Science, and Health Care Sciences & Services but, however, is reduced in Education & Educational Research and Social Sciences - Other Topics.

This study measured whether subject descriptor searching and citation searching retrieve different documents for conceptual queries and methodological queries in natural science, engineering and social science. The retrieval effectiveness of two search methods was measured using as criteria, total number of documents retrieved, total number of relevant documents, overlapping and unique documents and precision ratio. The search subject was water resources and the databases used were Selected Water Resources Abstracts (SWRA) and SCISEARCH. Data were collected for 21 doctoral students working on their dissertations in the three fields of water resources. Principal findings included: 1) subject searching and citation searching each retrieved substantially equal number of documents; 2) total number of relevant documents for conceptual queries was larger than that for methodological queries, while there was a large variation among the three fields; 3) the average overlap was quite small, while citation searching yielded more unique documents than subject searching; 4) for conceptual queries, citation searching yielded a higher precision ratio than subject searching, while subject searching obtained a slightly higher precision ratio than citation searching for methodological queries ; and 5) citation searching was effective for both specific queries and broad queries if seed articles are well chosen, while subject searching only worked well for broad queries. It was further found that: 1) citation searching is not a subsidiary but a substantial retrieval method in water resources; 2) SWRA is effective for queries for engineering and SCISEARCH is appropriate for queries for natural science, while neither SWRA nor SCISEARCH work well for queries for social science; and 3) characteristics of queries affect retrieval results more than the characteristics of documents or the coverage of databases.
The analysis of citing and cited phrases provides an opportunity to enhance search-centric academic information services. However, most current studies focus only on citation analysis among academic associations, researchers, and articles, making it challenging to develop higher citation-based information services. This study proposes citation analysis service methods using citing and cited phrases. First, to verify the feasibility of suggested services, we have collected the most highly cited articles with specific domain terms and followed their citing relationship; after that, we found formal citation types and ratios in the original articles. And we conducted structural analysis, especially with three topics, "Deep Learning," "Green Energy," and "Aging," and then structurally illustrates the citation characteristics of related articles. Finally, we collected four most cited articles and all their citing ones for each subject from Google Scholar and analyzed the ratio of citation types and citation spread. We hope that various citation analysis studies and information services can be further developed based on our discussion for designing better information services.

The characteristics of citation and centrality measures in citation networks can be identified using multiple linear regression analyses. In this study, we examine the relationships between bibliometric indices and centrality measures in an article-level co-citation network to determine whether the linear model is the best fitting model and to suggest the necessity of data transformation in the analysis. 703 highly cited articles in Physics published in 2004 were sampled, and four indicators were developed as variables in this study: citation counts, degree centrality, closeness centrality, and betweenness centrality in the co-citation network. As a result, the relationship pattern between citation counts and degree centrality in a co-citation network fits a non-linear rather than linear model. Also, the relationship between degree and closeness centrality measures, or that between degree and betweenness centrality measures, can be better explained by non-linear models than by a linear model. It may be controversial, however, to choose non-linear models as the best-fitting for the relationship between closeness and betweenness centrality measures, as this result implies that data transformation may be a necessary step for inferential statistics.

This paper aims to propose the most appropriate method for calculating the journal PageRank in a domestic citation database. Korean journals show relatively high journal self-citation ratios and have many outgoing citations to external journals which are not included in the domestic citation database. Because the PageRank algorithm requires recursive calculation to converge, those two characteristics of domestic citation databases must be accounted for in order to measure the citation impact of Korean journals. Therefore, two PageRank calculation methods and four formulas for self-citation adjustment have been examined and tested for KSCD journals. The results of the correlation analysis and regression analysis show that the SCImago Journal Rank formula with the cr2 type self-citation adjustment method seems to be a more appropriate way to measure the relative impact of domestic journals in the Korean Science Citation Database.

This study identifies the characteristics of recent citation-based indicators for assessing a single paper in the context of their co-relationships. Five predefined indicators were examined with three variants of h-index which are convened in this study; the formers are PageRank, SCEAS Rank, CCI, f-value, and single paper h-index and the latters are $h_S$-index, h1-index, and $h_S$1-index. The correlation analysis and cluster analysis were performed to group the indicators by common characteristics, after which the indicators were calculated with the dataset from KSCI DB. The results show statistical evidence that distinguishes h-index type indicators from others. The characteristics of the indicators were verified with citation frequency factors using correlation analysis. Finally, the implications for applications and further studies are discussed.

For the effective classification of complex subjects, a library classification scheme should adopt multiple division principles (or facets). Each of the multiple principles adopted for the division of complex subjects is sequentially applied at each stage of division. The order of application of these multiple principles during the process of division of complex subjects is called citation order. In order for a classification scheme to be consistent and logical, the citation order of division principles applied to classify complex subjects should be concrete and consistent. Especially, in case of enumerative classification system, decisions on citation order to represent complex subjects significantly affect the structure and organization of the classification system. There are basic principles and theoretical canons of the classification theory on the citation order and its application, but they cannot be applied solidly in the process of classification system development for practical reasons. Therefore, this paper first reviews previous works on classification theories regarding citation order, then explores the conditions and circumstances for the application of citation order.
From its foundation until 2004, ETRI has registered over 1,000 US patents. This letter analyzes the characteristics of these patents and addresses the explanatory factors affecting their citation counts. For explanatory variables, research team related variables, invention specific variables, and geographical domain related variables are suggested. Zero-altered count data models are used to test the impact of independent variables. A key finding is that technological cumulativeness, the scale of invention, outputs in the electronic field, and the degree of dependence on the US technology domain positively affect the citation counts of ETRI-invented US patents. The magnitude of international presence appears to negatively affect the citation counts of ETRI-invented US patents.
