  • The basic framework of traditional Korean clothing construction consists of circle, square and triangle. This composition principle has been presumed to be associated with the Cheonbu concept of the Dangun era wherein nature and human being are considered united. The Cheonbu concept is represented by circle, square and triangle which constitute Cheonbuin, the images and meanings of heaven. It contains profound philosophy wherein a circle symbolizes heaven and represents number one, a square symbolizes earth and represents the number two, and a triangle symbolizes human beings and represents the number three. Circles, squares and triangles have been used as various symbolic meanings both in the east and west and constitute the framework of Hanbok construction while connoting the Cheonbu concept and symbolism of the Cosmo-tree. From this point of view, the unity of human beings and heaven in Cheonbugyeong is symbolically inherent in Hanbok. Therefore, Hanbok with the basic framework of circles, squares and triangles can be considered a positive creation that created a composition principle of body-nature-clothing.

  • Researcher of this study improved conventional circle secondary settling basin, through the way such as extend of inlet pipe length, introduction of device for inducting uniforming of flow, keeping of height of sludge interface. Also, we compared conventional circle settling basin to improved circle settling basin the water treatment efficiency. Result of research, when SVI is average 117, improvement rate of SS and BOD were 51.0%, 37.0% approximately compared to conventional settling basin. And when SVI is average 178, improvement rate of SS and BOD were 22.7%, 36.0% approximately. Also when SVI is average 196, improvement rate of SS and BOD were 24.7%, 30.3% approximately. When it's winter, improvement rate of SS, BOD, COD, TN and TP were 20.6%, 17.9%, 13.9%, 13.5%, 12.4% approximately. Therefore, we can be the judge, this improved settling basin can be used as the final settling basin in the waste water treatment plant.

  • Studies on the principle of traditional moulding techniques of architecture or structure are very important in the point of the work could accomplish succession to modern design. As an attempt of these work, this study tried to examine traditional moulding techniques applied in planes of ancient architecture and structure closely. The major findings of this study are summarized as follows; It was verified that planes of ancient Korean architectures and structures analyzed in this study was moulded by its multiple partitions with the six or eight partitions of circumference as the fundamental form. The well unearthed in kyong-bok palace recently was moulded by a concentric circle assumed form of 4 circle which was extended with equal interval and divided into multiple of 8 partition of circumference. Chon-duk-jung in chang-duk palace also was moulded by a concentric circle assumed form of 3 circle extended with equal interval, but circle were divide by 6 partitions. It was also found that 6$^{\circ}$§8 partitions of circumference(or its multiple partition) was applied to not only above structures but also the moulding planes of ancient architecture, and as a results, figures revealed in architectures analyzed is classified into three classes. And, this study analyzed arrangements of two temples. As a results, it is discovered that the Grid used in moulding planes of each building fixed the arrangement of buildings. Therefore, moulding by equal partition of circumference decided the form of each building and the relation of element at the same time.

  • In this paper we study on concept analogy of altitude and escribed circle of triangle. We start from following theorems related with sides of triangle: existence of triangle, Pythagoras theorem, cosine theorem, Heron formula. Using concept analogy of sides-altitudes, altitudes-escribed circle's radii we discover some properties of altitude and escribed circle's radii and prove these properties.

  • Wafer pre-alignment is to find the center and the orientation of a wafer and to move the wafer to the desired position and orientation. In this paper, an area camera based pre-aligning method is presented that captures 8 wafer images regularly during 360 degrees rotation. From the images, wafer edge positions are extracted and used to estimate the wafer's center and orientation using least square circle fitting. These information are utilized for the proper alignment of the wafer.

  • In the design of ground improvement using band-shaped prefabricated vertical drains (PVD), it is required to determine a reasonable equivalent circle of PVDs. In this paper, a series of numerical analyses on soft clay ground improved by PVD were carried out in order to investigate the resonable equivalent circle of PVD considering consolidation behavior of improved soft clay ground by PVD. The applicability of numerical analyses, in which an elasto-viscoplastic three-dimensional consolidation finite element method was applied, could be confirmed comparing with consolidation behavior simulated at the laboratory. And, through the results of the numerical analyses, consolidation behaviors of soft clay ground with elapsed time were elucidated, together with the equivalent circle of PVD considering consolidation behaviors.

  • Let the circle act on a compact oriented manifold with a discrete fixed point set. At each fixed point, there are positive integers called weights, which describe the local action of S1 near the fixed point. In this paper, we provide the author's original proof that only uses the Atiyah-Singer index formula for the classification of the weights at the fixed points if the dimension of the manifold is 4 and there are at most 4 fixed points, which made the author possible to give a classification for any finite number of fixed points.

  • The STL file format is an approximation of 3-D model with triangular facets. STL is a standard input file format of Rapid Prototyping(RP) equipment In computer graphics a circle has been approximated with an inscribed polygon which causes an error between the real and approximated circles. In this study an intersecting polygon has been used to approximate the circle and applied to produce more accurate RP part. The newly proposed method shows it's excellence in part accuracy.

  • We consider the problem of determining the circle of best fit to a set of data points in the plane. In [1] and [2] several algorithms already have been given for fitting a circle in least squares sense of minimizing the geometric distances to the given data points. In this paper we present another new descent algorithm which computes a parametric represented circle in order to minimize the sum of the squares of the distances to the given points. For any choice of starting values our algorithm has the advantage of ensuring convergence to a local minimum. Numerical examples are given.
