Painterly Rendering with Directional Stroke (영역 분할 및 병합을 이용한 방향성을 가지는 스트로크 생성에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents a brush stroke direction creation method to distill painterly expressions from picture images. In actual paintings, each brush stroke has the same directionality in one segmented area. but directionality changes in the area of image border edges. This study employed the following methods to implement the directionality of the brush stroke area by: (1) detecting edge in input images, (2) region splitting and merging based on quad-tree division method, and (3) composing a direction map to create brush strokes with the same directionality in the segmented area. The results of the implementation enabled the simulation of the directionality of the stroke area shown in actual paintings.

Effect of Multidisciplinary Emergency Consultation System for Drug Intoxicated Patients (응급실을 내원한 약물중독 환자에 대한 다학제 응급협진체계의 효과 검증)

  • Objectives : When a patient who attempts suicide visits the emergency room, it is important that the departments of emergency medicine, internal medicine, and psychiatry communicate with each other and prioritize treatment. This study was conducted to verify the effectiveness of the multidisciplinary emergency consultation system (ECS) for drug intoxicated patients. Methods : We retrospectively analyzed the data from medical records prior to the ECS, from July 2017 to May 2018, and after the ECS, from July 2018 to May 2019, to verify the effectiveness of the system. Results : After the ECS, admission to open wards was significantly higher than to the intensive care units (χ2=8.567, p=0.014). In addition, the proportion of consultations to the department of psychiatry among patients admitted to other departments tended to increase (χ2=4.202, p=0.053), and the time required for consultation response decreased (Z=-2.031, p=0.042). As a result of the consultation, the proportion of the patients who had been transferred to the department of psychiatry was increased (χ2=4.692, p=0.043), and the time spent to transfer tended to decrease (Z=-1.941, p=0.052). Conclusions : After implementing the ECS for drug intoxicated patients, unnecessary intensive care unit admissions, consultation response time, and the time spent to transfer were reduced, and the rate of consultation referrals and transfer rates increased. This means that the multidisciplinary consultation system rapidly provided essential medical services to patients at lower medical costs.

  • At q = 1.81 ± 0.20 × 10-5, KMT-2018-BLG-0029Lb has the lowest planet-host mass ratio q of any microlensing planet to date by more than a factor of two. Hence, it is the first planet that probes below the apparent "pile-up" at q = 5-10 ×10-5. The event was observed by Spitzer, yielding a microlens-parallax πE measurement. Combined with a measurement of the Einstein radius θE from finite-source effects during the caustic crossings, these measurements imply masses of the host Mhost = 1.14+0.10-0.12 M and planet Mplanet = 7.59+0.75-0.69 M, system distance DL = 3.38+0.22-0.26 kpc and projected separation a = 4.27+0.21-0.23 AU. The blended light, which is substantially brighter than the microlensed source, is plausibly due to the lens and could be observed at high resolution immediately.

Utilization of Electrical Conductivity to Improve Prediction Accuracy of Cooking Loss of Pork Loin

  • This study investigated the predictability of cooking loss of pork loin through relatively easy and quick measurable quality properties. The pH, color, moisture, protein content, and cooking loss of 100 pork loins were measured. The explanatory variables included in all linear regression models with an adjust-r2 value of ≥0.5 were pH and the protein content. In the linear regression model predicting cooking loss, the highest adjust-r2 value was 0.7, with pH, CIE L*, CIE b*, moisture, and protein content as the explanatory variables. In 30 pork loins, electrical conductivity was additionally measured, and as a result of linear regression analysis for predicting cooking loss, the highest adjust-r2 value was 0.646 with electrical conductivity measured at 40 Hz, with pH and color as the explanatory variables. Ordinal logistic regression analysis was performed to predict the three grades (low, middle, and high) of loin cooking loss using pH, color, and 40 Hz electrical conductivity as the explanatory variables, and the percent concordance was 93.8%. In conclusion, the addition of electrical conductivity as an explanatory variable did not increase the prediction accuracy of the linear regression model for predicting cooking loss; however, it was demonstrated that it is possible to predict and classify the cooking loss grade of pork loin through quality properties that can be measured quickly and easily.

  • The effect of the addition of ionic liquids with four different cations (imidazolium, pyrrolidinium, piperidinium and pyridinium) on the performance of dye-sensitized $TiO_2$ solar cells based on electrolytes containing a t-butylpyridine (TBP) in 3-methoxypropionitrile (MPN) was studied. A total of 18 ionic liquids with mono-, di- and tri-alkyl derivatives were used in the present study, and among them a pyridinium cation with a mono-alkyl group showed better cell efficiency than the others. The best photoelectric conversion efficiency, 7.213%, was obtained using 1-hexylpyridinium iodide with an open-circuit photovoltage ($V_{oc}$) = 0.731 V, a short-circuit photocurrent density ($J_{sc}$) = 16.175 $mA/cm^2$, and a fill factor (ff) = 0.610 under AM1.5 and 100 $mW/cm^2$ illumination.

  • This study is to evaluate the parameter behavior of VfloTM distributed rainfall-runoff model by applying 3 kinds of rainfall interpolation methods viz. Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW), Kriging (KRI), and Thiessen network (THI). For the 1,544 $km^2$ Dongcheon watershed of Nakdong river, the model was calibrated using 4 storm events in 2007 and 2009, and validated using 2 storm events in 2010. The model was calibrated with Nash-Sutcliffe model efficiency of 0.97 for IDW, 0.94 for KRI, and 0.95 for THI respectively. For the sensitive parameters, the saturated hydraulic conductivity ($K_{sat}$) for IDW, KRI, and THI were 0.33, 0.31, and 0.43 cm/hr, and the soil suction head at the wetting front (${\Psi}_f$) were 4.10, 3.96, and 5.19 cm $H_2O$ respectively. These parameters affected the infiltration process by the spatial distribution of antecedent moisture condition before a storm.

  • 회화적 렌더링의 궁극적 목적은 주어진 영상을 사람이 직접 그린듯한 회화적 느낌을 가미하는 것이다. 이러한 회화적 느낌을 표현하기 위한 중요한 요소에는 브러시의 그리는 방향과 다양한 브러시 사이즈, 그리고 캔버스 위에 브러시로 그려지는 위치 등이 있다. 본 논문에서는 브러시의 방향을 효과적으로 표현하기 위해 영상의 방향 보간을 먼저 하였다. 그리고 입력 영상과 캔버스의 최대 차이점에서 에지와의 거리를 고려하여 동적인 브러시의 사이즈를 표현 하였다. 그리고 그려진 주변의 일정 영역 안에서 다시 최대 차이점을 찾아나가는 방법으로 다음 브러시의 위치를 결정하였다. 이렇게 실제 회화를 그리는 과정을 따라감으로써 사실적인 회화적 렌더링의 결과를 얻을수 있었다.

  • 회화적 렌더링의 궁극적 목적은 입력된 이미지를 가지고 손으로 그린듯한 느낌을 표현하는 것이다. 이러한 회화적 느낌을 표현하기 위한 요소에는 브러시의 위치 방향, 그리고 사이즈 등이 있다. 본 논문에서는 다음 그려질 위치가 정적 격자단위로 정해지는 것이 아닌 동적인 격자를 사용하여 결정되었다. 이때 브러시의 방향을 효과적으로 표현하기 위해 영상의 방향 보간을 하였다. 그리고 입력 영상과 캔버스의 최대 차이점에서 에지와의 거리를 고려하여 동적인 브러시의 사이즈를 표현하였다. 그리고 텍스처를 가진 다양한 브러시를 사용하여 질감을 효과적으로 표현하였다. 위의 과정들을 통하여 전통적인 오일 페인팅(oil painting)의 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • An efficient algorithm for the multiplication in a binary finite filed using a normal basis representation of $F_{2^m}$ is discussed and proposed for software implementation of elliptic curve cryptography. The algorithm is developed by using the storage scheme of sparse matrices.
